And are there levels? Like minorly stressed could be soothed with a new nail polish but major stress means a new purse.
My DDs, both expecting, one high risk, and I were talking about retail therapy and we're all kind of stressed right now. One ordered a new nugget (some kind of children's thing), another bought an armful of books and I've got a purse, on sale, in my shopping cart. Do I need it? I do not. I probably won't get it because I just cleaned out my closet a few weeks ago and bemoaned that I don't have space for anything.
What are your favorite retail therapy go-tos? LOL

low stress, a few new kitcheny things, like a pretty new tablecloth or a nice new wooden spoon. More stressy, clothes, shoes and makeup in that order.

I buy makeup, a purse, makeup brushes and LV scarves. That said I should buy new makeup because some of my stuff is getting old.

In the summer, plants. In winter, throws, a cushion or candle…something that says “cozy”.

I don’t normally shop when I’m stressed - but if so I’d be most likely to buy flowers or do self care such as a manicure, massage etc.
My favorite things to buy are things that make me feel pretty - I love blouses, skirts…and a sexy heel lol.
I also love buying jewelry and pretty hair clips.

Plants and fabric.
Low stress a few fat quarters. High stress is enough for a quilt. Or two.

I have been really good about not using retail therapy lately as we are going to move and I don't need more stuff. I add the money to my savings.
My mil fills her cart online shopping and then talks herself out of it and gives the money to one of the 3 grandkids instead. I like that idea.

I've collected Disney pins for over 30 years. So I usually head to Ebay, or look for people selling on social media sites to look for good deals that are a little more indulgent than my usual pickups. I don't buy a lot of regular item shopping. Clothes, shoes, etc do nothing for me. In the old days, I would go to Tuesday Morning or Michaels for scrapping supplies, but I haven't done that in almost 10 years now.
If I'm stressed I'd usually choose food. Bakery items, ice cream.

My lowest level is probably a new book and a pedicure. Next level is probably clothes and/or shoes. After that shit gets real and it's a a new Coach bag.

If I can get out to shop, then strolling through antique stores, vintage shops, and thrift stores is always soul-soothing for me. On-line shopping doesn't provide that same feeling.
Small purchases that can make me happy though are beautiful new stationery, high-end candles, flowers, or some exotic (to me) new ingredient to cook with.

Nail polish or craft supplies. I also love a trip to a good thrift store looking for vintage odds and ends to use in art projects.

I tend to buy things for the house. Curtains in the house have been swapped out a few times. New seasonal stuff have appeared.
When I really feel like I need retail therapy, Etsy and Amazon are bad for me. I love hoodies and have gotten a few new ones in moments of stress.

Crafty stuff, been on an ephemera kick lately and have bought a ton of stickers and washi tape from Temu. Glad that it’s so cheap. Don’t have to be stressed out for retail therapy! Also have too many cheap watches in an assortment of colors from Amazon.
