I thought I would use my air fryer more than I do. I've tried different recipes but most of them didn't work well. The only thing I use it for now is air fried skin-on, bone-in chicken thighs. I'm curious about other Peas usage ~ especially if you do or don't use it as much as you used to.

I really love it for the bone in skin on thighs too.
I meal prep a lot, and use mine to roast veggies.
I want to use it more so I am always on the search for it things I can do with it.
I love to reheat pizza in it, and make pizzas from naan bread
I love to make bacon wrapped hot dogs in it.
If I think of more I will come back and edit.

when I bought mine, we were still living in our old house with a non-functional stove/oven. The air fryer got almost daily use (as did the crockpot and single countertop burner).
Now? living in a house with a functional oven? we use it several times a month, maybe as often as weekly when averaged out.
Sausages and hotdogs are always cooked in it.
Pizza and many leftovers are re-heated it in
onion rings, french fries, tater tots are cooked in it. On the rare occasional we have chicken strips or popcorn shrimp (or similar stuff) - they do well in it as well.
But I don't use it for recipes

I use mine to make from-scratch chips (fries), which are delicious. I roast a whole chicken once or twice a month, use it to reheat pizza, and frozen Yorkshire puddings, battered or breaded onion rings, and also occasionally cook steak in it. I use it far more than any other gadget except for my combi microwave/convection oven.

I use mine at least once or twice per week. It's so easy to use and super easy to clean. I use it more often when the whole family is home. Everything I cook in the af turns out really well.

I use it for everything.
Literally every meal, every day.
Anything that’s frozen gets cooked in the air fryer.
Biscuits, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins - air fryer.
Veggies - broccoli, green beans, asparagus, potatoes - air fryer.
Nachos, pigs in a blanket, burritos - air fryer.
Toasting buns or bread for a sandwich - air fryer.

We love ours and typically use it at least once a day for toasting, roasting, or baking.
Since we’ve had our air fryer, George Foreman grill, and Phillips multicooker we haven’t used our actual oven for anything in years.
In fact, dh and I have decided that when we renovate the kitchen we’re not going to put in a traditional oven at all - just a cooktop.

I've only just joined the air fryer club...I avoided looking at them because people seemed to use them mainly for junk food and I didn't need to find a way to make chips (fries) at home. I wish someone had explained to me earlier that they were just a little oven. Cooking for one I often avoided switching the oven on because it made the kitchen too hot and it felt like a waste just to cook one chicken breast or one piece of fish but then I didn't want to fry them in oil either.
Now I love it for single serve proteins, perfect salmon fillet in 12mins, no oil needed, chicken strips marinated in teriyaki sauce for 30 mins...6 mins to cook, I made an egg in a silicone cup with a slice of bacon, and toasted an English muffin all in 5-6 mins. I'm working the next 3 nights so I made a batch of turkey burgers and cooked them in 10 mins while i did something else yesterday and now I have my meals for work (with some salad) sorted.
I love it and I can see it's going to not only replace my oven usage...but it will get me to start making those things again that I stopped cooking because I didn't want to turn the big oven on.

Our IP Vortex AF gets used most in late spring thru mid fall when it is hot and I don't want to use the oven.
I use it for:
Chickpeas Chicken wings Tater tots French fries Roasted red potatoes Meatballs Brussel sprouts Breakfast potatoes Baked potatoes

I did, however, donate my IP Pro. It had become a hassel to use and clean. And took up a lot of counter space.

My MIL, who is one of the best cooks I know, uses her air fryer pretty much every day to cook her and FIL's dinner. The only time she uses her oven these days is if she has us over for dinner and needs more room. I don't cook as many meals in mine as she does, but we still use it a LOT, almost every day. The main thing we use it for is frozen foods such as chips, pizza, pies and other pastries, and at the moment to toast hot cross buns. Some of the proper meals I cook in it: Marinated pork fillet Crispy pork belly Jalapeno popper chicken Scalloped potatoes Crispy roast potatoes Chicken Kiev Egg & prosciutto tart I have an old basket style air fryer, and also a bigger toaster oven style air fryer. The toaster oven style one also has a rotisserie. I have tried cooking lamb on the rotisserie, but it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I also use it on the dehydrate setting to make dog treats (chicken jerky). I put it on low to keep food warm. For example if I'm cooking paratha in a fry pan, I can only cook one at a time, so the others go into the air fryer on a low heat to keep warm. I saved this recipe the other day that I want to try: Lemon Pepper Chicken Skewers

We use it mostly for reheating fried foods because we can regain the crispy outer texture. There are a few things we will cook straight beginning to end but not often!

I use it everyday. Twice baked potatoes, bacon wrapped wieners, chicken, fish, veggies, cheese scones, baby potatoes, etc. Garlic toast and re-heated pizza are good too. I love the air fryer and Instant pot.

How does that work with the cheese on top? Does it just melt into the chicken?

How does that work with the cheese on top? Does it just melt into the chicken? I cook messy stuff (cheese, cinnamon rolls) in my air fryer all the time. It’s super easy to clean - it just wiped right off.

I have zero appliances out on my kitchen countertops. I don't like the look of them. I would probably use it more if it was out and available. My microwave is also an air fryer, but I don't get quite the same results from it.

We probably use it 1-2 times a week in the colder months but we use it a lot in the summer.
It’s our preferred method of cooking frozen pizza, chicken nuggets or other frozen snack or appetizer type things. I like roasting veggies and baby potatoes in it because it’s so much quicker than turning on the big oven. Reheating anything that would get soggy in the microwave. I never even thought of reheating a whole rotisserie chicken but I just bought one today that we didn’t end up eating so I’ll be trying that out tomorrow! My DD and I just made tortilla pepperoni pizzas in ours the other night because we didn’t feel like making a whole frozen pizza for the two of us.

I chose almost every day because my 11 and 7 year olds LOVE to use it. They make all kinds of snacks and food in it. I use it a few times a week at most.

I used it the most for reheating leftovers for lunch everyday. I get pretty excited when we have one and find myself wishing for one when we don't.

We use ours regularly, but the kids use it the most. We all like Just Bare lightly breaded chicken chunks or fillets and always make them in the air fryer. Pretty much anything frozen gets cooked in it. I hadn’t thought of some of the uses listed here so will give those a try. Mine isn’t very easy to clean (it has three racks that have a metal grid pattern but I just got some parchment liners to use so hopefully that helps with some of the messier foods.

Mine is used every day, often several times. Roasting veggies, baked potatoes, all kinds of meats, reheating leftovers. My girls use it for frozen foods- chicken strips and nuggets, mini tacos, man cheese bites, fries, taquitos, etc…..
I recently used it for biscuits (canned) and they were so simple and perfectly cooked without waiting for my big oven to preheat.

I dint use mine all that much. It’s kind of a hassle. It’s huge so we store it in the hall closet. Have to haul it up a half flight of stairs. I hated washing the basket, so I bought a silicone basket that seems to help in that regard. I also think it runs hot. I’ve overcooked a bunch of things.

I love mine though it is huge!. Keep it in the dining room on a shelf. Make potato and sweet potato fries, chicken tenders and roasted veggies. I got some air fryer parchment papers from Amazon that have helped some with the cleanup.

I don’t use mine often. Maybe once a week. We don’t do a lot of frozen foods. I like to roast things in my regular oven because I do large sheet pans and have leftovers for the week.

I love mine! Hotter climate means I can switch it on and cook dinner without the whole house feeling like the second stage of hell. When the kids were little there were no hot oven doors to worry about them touching even though the oven was off. Also, when we had newborns especially, if I forgot or fell asleep when I was cooking something it would go through to the end of its timer and then just turn itself off… I’ll take cold but cooked meals over a house fire any day! What do we cook in it? Cakes, banana bread, any proteins, all veggies/anything that I’d bake or fry and even pastry coated items… we put anything full of cheese or coated with pastry onto baking paper so it doesn’t stick to the basket and is easy to get out (just make sure you leave as much of the edge free as possible so the air circulates well.) I bought the model I have as you can just pull out the base and basket as one piece, pour out any excess fat or oil into a jar, and then stick the whole thing in the dishwasher to clean. Every now and then I’ll let it cool and wipe out the inside walls and filament with a damp cloth but that’s it. As for storage, it’s in a cupboard on a plastic tray like the ones they used to put your order on at maccas so I can slide it out easily and put it on the bench (now we have a new kitchen I don’t like it sitting on the bench like it used to.)

How does that work with the cheese on top? Does it just melt into the chicken? I use this recipe (which I've shared on the dinner thread previously): Jalapeno Popper ChickenIt cooks exactly the same as it does in the oven, but a bit quicker. I make one small change to the recipe, regardless of whether I am cooking it in the oven or air fryer.... I mix the cooked bacon and the chopped jalapeno in with the cream cheese, cream, and garlic powder, and spread it on top of the chicken. Then I sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top of that. And I don;t usually put foil over it, unless it's starting to darken too much.

My DH uses it more than I do. Just about every day. Ours is the Cuisinart toaster oven style. It makes great garlic bread. Homemade chicken tenders. Breaded pork chops (even shake n bake) Chicken wings - bbq, buffalo wings. Air fryer chick peas are delicious. Cut up, seasoned potato pieces, asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, etc. Cheese sticks/fried pickles Left over pizza is so much better air fried. Reheating leftover fried/coated foods. Jalapeno poppers (also to reheat.)

It was a game changer for us. I use it all the time.. at least 3 times a week. Use it for frozen foods, heating up leftovers especially to-go stuff, salmon, many more things. It will be an appliance that will stay. Instapot, was not my thing.

DD uses hers almost every day. I use ours a few times a month.
DD has Celiac, so we have separate appliances. She likes to use hers for pretty much anything. LOL I use ours for french fries and on the rare occasion that we have something breaded. I also tend to pull it out when we have leftovers of anything that might get soggy if heated in the microwave.
