I know we've had threads like this in the past, but I thought I'd start another one. Every now and then I think to myself "I wonder why they chose that particular Pea name?" or "How do you pronounce that?" Here are some that I have been wondering about lately. If you are prepared to explain the meaning behind your name, please do. Otherwise you can tell me to MYOB! sawwhet - I'm not sure how to pronounce this, I say saw-wet. flanz pierkiss (I've made up my own story about this one - you shared your first kiss with your husband/SO on the Santa Monica pier. ) paget - I always pronounce this as PAJ-ett, but maybe it's page-tee? Chinagirl828 - do you have Chinese heritage, do you like travelling to China, do you like fine bone china? finaledition Mine is the most boring Pea name ever, it's just my nationality and my name. I wish I'd thought up a clever name for myself when the new board started. Anyone else curious about any Pea names?

Chinagirl828 - do you have Chinese heritage, do you like travelling to China, do you like fine bone china? China Girl was the name of a demo by one of my favourite bands. The song ended up being called China when it was finished but I'd already created a profile using Chinagirl online so just stuck with it. The numbers are completely random, when I created a profile on Limewire someone already had the username Chinagirl, so it offered me the name with these numbers on the end and I just went with it. I wish I'd dropped the numbers when we moved here, but there was another Chinagirl on the old 2peas and I figured people already knew me by this name so I kept them. I have travelled to China and would love to see more of it one day, but my travel bucket list is very long so who knows if I'll ever get back there.

China Girl was the name of a demo by one of my favourite bands. Aha! Thanks for the explanation. I should change my Pea name to Khe Sanh or Roaring Days!

My heritage is Italian American, thus peasapie. Well, now that you say that, I read it the way it's intended. 😂😂 Mine is because when ds was little, I was sick and he sang to me, to the tune of Brahms Lullaby Go to sleep Go to sleep Go to sleep, my little mama

I can’t explain why it was chosen of course, but a saw whet is a type of owl that’s cute as can be.

My original one (alwaysa4hmember) was made the year after I aged out of 4H and still had a lot of connections to the organization. I changed it years later. Not sure why.

It's actually Northern Saw-whet but I left out the hyphen

My heritage is Italian American, thus peasapie. That actually doesn't help me at all! Seven years of Italian lessons, and I just can't get the connection.

My heritage is Italian American, thus peasapie. Well, now it makes sense! I never read it as "pizza pie" before.

Pizza Pie - except pronounce Pizza like Pisa (leaning tower of). Say it quickly like it’s one word - pisapie. Peasapie = pisapie. peasapie - I never got it until this thread! Now it makes total sense.

I would also be interested in changing my name here but nothing seems right or maybe I don’t really care enough. I just often use it on websites as it’s always available - unlike my very common first name.

We don't ever say "pizza pie" in Australia. It's just "pizza". Is there a difference between pizza pie and regular old pizza?

hutchfan because I am a huge fan of INXS and Michael Hutchence was the lead singer who sometimes wore a black leather jacket with Hutch on the back.

Is there a difference between pizza pie and regular old pizza? No one ever says pizza pie here on the West Coast. We just say pizza. Pizza pie feels like very New York/East Coast terminology to me. I’ve been signing my posts with lucyg since my earliest message board days (Prodigy, back in 1989, when we were assigned a jumble of letters and numbers for our online ID) and now I use it even in real life. I sign things like cards and notes lucyg.

"That's Amore" - sung by Dean Martin
(In Napoli where love is king When boy meets girl here's what they say)
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie That's amore When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine That's amore Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling And you'll sing "Vita bella" Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay Like a gay tarantella
