Hi I was busy eating everything in sight this week and although my weight isn’t up it’s not good either. My doctor and I had a chat. He said the recommended amount of brisk exercise a week is 150 min and I get 450 so he said stop beating myself up. I look great. Anything lower is too skinny.
How are you doing? Any successes or milestones? Are you happy with things? What can you be doing better or more of? Good luck and keep fighting!

A big goal of mine for 2023 has been to really dig into the nerdy aspect of running data, and align my training, nutrition and fueling to my goals. My big, barfy goal is to run a half marathon in January 2024 so this fits into that. So, I finally coughed up the money to have a performance analysis done and completed that last Sunday. We met this past week with her recommendations and I implemented some of them this morning, and I can't believe how effortless my 4 mile run was. She is still working on my gait analysis, but gave me some preliminary information on that as well and alot clicked with regard to how my muscles and tendons have been feeling. So I've got some work there too

I FINALLY hit my 25 pounds lost Goal....It was a LONG time coming however I am proud of myself and more importantly I feel good. I had someone comment last week "look how skinny you are" I am far from skinny, but did fit into the size smaller jeans!!! Baby steps!!
Still tracking everything I eat and walking most days, at least 3.25 miles. I would love to start running again as I know it would improve my weight loss however a total knee replacement prevents that from happening, so I will continue walking and liking it. Next goal..30 lbs....

Just when I thought maybe the weather was changing and I could get out there again and start running this week, we've had a cold, snowy snap again. I don't mind the cold but I'm afraid of the snow. I don't want to slip and fall. I keep thinking I should sign up for another 5k and that might motivate me to start running again.

Last Friday i was finally down a few lbs. We were out of town for basketball that weekend and I was worried I would gain it back but was down another .5 on Monday. I was so happy, but then on Tuesday I was up 2.5 again and then went up another lb later in the week when I got my period. I’m still consistent with my eating and exercise. It’s discouraging but I keep telling myself that even if I don’t lose weight, strength training and exercise is going to help me look better.

So I've got some work there too That sounds really interesting. What type of evaluation did they do and what were some of the recommendations? It was comprised of two processes. The first was lactic acid testing. She used a lancet for blood testing before a run, right after and then to monitor for the recovery time. I ran multiple laps at various paces so we could figure out what pace my lactic acid didn't spike heavily. Ultimately this determines my aerobic vs. anaerobic thresholds. Once she ran all the paces and lactic acid testing, I got a full report of my performance. So now I know what pace to hold for endurance running vs my push pace, and I have the information I need to increase my aerobic threshold. The second was me running on the street with her following on a bike with her GoPro so she could film my running form from different angles. She takes that away and reviews it separately to give a full analysis. I don't have that yet, but she did show me some video clips and gave me her initial thoughts. I have some hip drop, which I knew, but it is more significant than I thought. We talked a bit about shoes and inserts, but ultimately she thinks it is correctable with strength moves. She gave me a couple of tips after the test and I am excited to see what the analysis looks like.

Yay I feel like a muppet when I say that because my weight is good. I did my form of good keto and the scale drops. I am so happy! I still got 8,600 steps yesterday so I am pleased with that too. My legs feel better today. I am also sleeping better. I discontinued one of my meds and feel so much better! I will tell my doctors today. They will be happy too.

We went to a new french restaurant this past weekend, so I'm going to have to up my game this week.
My trainer had to cancel our last session, so I ended up doing a new-to-me class (Peloton's tread bootcamp). I LOVED it! It switched gears enough that I never felt bored. My only complaint is that I was wearing shoes not meant for running, so my legs were sore all weekend. That's ok - DH bought me a new pair of shoes that I'll use when I do tread work.
My bff has MS, but she's been put on a drug combo where she hasn't had a relapse in over a year. In honor of that, we formed a walking team to do an MS Walk event this weekend, and she plans on walking the whole 3 miles! I'm so excited for her!

I'm starting back on WW tomorrow after being off for about 6 months. I'm not looking forward to the scale but I'm looking forward into more healthy eating habits.
Today I'm having a Philly cheesesteak for lunch as a last hurrah!

Hi Peas! Today the scale was still kind even though I didn’t lose anything. I am at 117-118 and that feels good. I got 10,000 steps the other day and was very happy. Most days I am getting 8,000 and that is enough. I have done well on keto this week and am very happy!
How are things?

I am still going to the gym 3x per week.
Two weeks ago i was down 6 pounds and the little machine showed my body fat is down 1.6%.
At first I was kind of disappointed because it doesn't seem like much but my trainer (DD said that was a huge improvement.)
My weight is fluctuating about 3lbs give or take. I said I was surprised I hadn't lost more weight, but I am replacing the fat with muscle which will eventually help my weight go down.
I am not focusing on cardio right now. At my age (57) DD says I really need to concentrate on strength and flexibility. With my history of back issues having a strong core is imperative.
I have really done well with the training routines DD has been giving me. I no longer loathe squats and are pretty good at them.
The other day I did an elbow plank on the Bosu ball and was able to hold it for 1 minute 5 seconds. Yea me!
Some of my clothes are fitting better and I found an adorable red and white pencil skirt with hibiscus flowers and it is a size or two smaller than I wore last year. Small victories!
I am wanting to concentrate on my upper arms and shoulders this next month. It is getting into sleeveless weather and I want my arms to not look like old lady arms. I can see they are improving, but could use some more definition.

Hi how are the Peas doing? I had a great keto week and Friday I let myself indulge. The scale was up by 0.2 so I didn’t care. I weigh myself everyday because I am addicted to the scale. I am still getting 7000 or more steps in and am not killing myself anymore to get more. BFF keeps drilling into my head I have won’t the race. I have! Yay!!!

Hi my leggings are too tight on me even though they look great. They told me in Lululemon what size to buy after I looked ridiculous in a larger size. I think I will lose some more weight and sell some leggings because they are too tight.
