Barbeque! Apple pie Hamburger or chicken Baked beans Hamburger as an Easter dinner side dish? I replied based on the title "Favorite Easter Foods". I just went and read the original post where it mentions side dishes. Oops! Anyways....those are my favorite Easter barbeque favorites.

Tell me your favorite easter side dishes, recipe is a plus. Menu at the moment will be overcooked and dry ham, boxed scalloped potatoes and frozen veggies. I don't like holidays. why are you even bothering if you don’t like holidays? If you’re serving a traditional Easter dinner out of family obligation then buy pre-made sides wherever you buy your ham. They’ll taste better than boxed potatoes and frozen vegetables. If you’re on a tight budget and need to use boxed/frozen foods there are ways to make them taste better. If you don’t feel you need to serve a traditional meal then make what you like. There is nothing wrong with pizza, burgers, sandwiches, soup, whenever it is your family likes to eat. Our family is not crazy about most Easter foods, so we fix a meal we enjoy and mix in deviled eggs, rolls, asparagus, and a chocolate cake decorated like a bunny or egg because we don’t all eat carrot cake.

Barbeque! Apple pie Hamburger or chicken Baked beans Hamburger as an Easter dinner side dish? We are grilling chicken breasts this year. DH is a Pastor so we will be at the church from 6 in the morning (we have an early service) until 11/12. I don't have the energy this year to kill myself prepping and trying to get a big meal together for just the three of us (we don't live near any family - and DS isn't sure he can make it home from college just for the weekend), so we are going simple and just going to enjoy time together - if the weather cooperates we will go exploring at a Forest Preserve after lunch.

Before my egg allergy it was deviled eggs that had to be dyed as well as asparagus and ham with warm pineapple topping.
Now it is asparagus, ham with no pineapple (another allergy) and pasta salad.

We are having baked beans on Easter Sunday! What are your baked beans, please, as they are clearly not our baked beans, in a tin of tomato sauce? I use onion, a little garlic, dry mustard, honey mustard, homemade BBQ sauce, water, brown sugar, and navy beans (allergic to pinto beans).

I was thinking green beans baked with ham and Parmesan like asparagus! They sound interesting.

We are having baked beans on Easter Sunday! What are your baked beans, please, as they are clearly not our baked beans, in a tin of tomato sauce? I use a can of Bush's baked beans and then add small diced onion and peppers, some garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, BBQ sauce, brown sugar and a few drops of hot sauce. Bake in oven until onion and peppers soft and sauce thick.

We are Ukrainian so childhood Easter dinner dishes were traditional and certain foods hold a symbolism so they are served every year.
Ham and kielbasa Paska - Ukrainian Easter bread Holubtsi - cabbage rolls Pierogies Nalysnyky - thin rolled crepes with cottage cheese and dill Devilled eggs
Now as my family has grown smaller and less traditional I make a simpler meal. Either a turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. Or a ham with a ham sauce, smashed potatoes, asparagus and biscuits
I love to cook and serve up a traditional meal. My family enjoys eating but doesn't care about the date or the tradition.
