Hi everyone! I'm about to go and grab a few groceries and then hit Starbucks for some iced tea (without the ice!) ... Emma is working so I'll get to say "Hi!" to her! No other major plans today ... laundry I guess ... trying to not think about the fact that Spring Break is almost over! This is what I posted on Facebook yesterday ... it is so me ... I do this all the time ... with the fan on of course! I hope that those feeling under the weather are doing better today. And I'm hoping that jeremysgirl had a safe trip to her vacation destination ... a beach holiday sounds amazing! Dinner tonight will be takeout I think ... yes, probably pork dumplings. What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Hi leannec we don't leave until tomorrow morning. Jeremy works Tuesday - Saturday so he's at work right now. I, of course, left everything until the last minute. Wouldn't be me if I didn't. I need to take my car for an oil change and pick up some meds. I have one load of laundry in right now and then I have another. When Jeremy comes home I'll have his work clothes to throw in as well. I need to make some Chex mix because it is tradition to eat Chex mix on a road trip. I'm cleaning my kitchen right now. I finished up that scarf this morning. Chloe is going to stop by tomorrow and pick it up to take to my niece as she's going there for Easter dinner. Seriously...dinner...well I'm going to say again for the third night in a row I will make that chicken. (I'm not going to make that chicken) so after what ever we eat for dinner I will throw the chicken in the freezer after cleaning out the fridge and cabinets. Because I always clean them out before we go on vacation. Don't need to come back to spoiled food.

Good morning. leannec, enjoy your day at home. I'll take a non-fat peppermint mocha, please. hehe. jeremysgirl, you're gonna need a beach vacation after today. Enjoy getting ready and I wish you the most relaxing and fun vacation ever. I'm going to spend quality time in my scrap room. Dh is going to be in the yard planting veggies in the beds. That means he'll be tilling. It's dh vs the slugs and snails. He usually wins, but sometimes it doesn't go his way. They manage to grab the snap peas every time. We were supposed to watch a movie tonight, but he's on call, so I'm not sure that will happen. Dinner will be rechauffe or tarragon chicken. I'll leave it up to hubby. Enjoy today and make the most of it, my lovelies.

Hi everyone. Another quiet day here. I went with DH to do the grocery shop - big shop, as no stores open for the next two days. After lunch, I went for a short walk, as it started raining while I was out. Then it was knitting while watching football on TV (Hard fought 1-0 win, go reds) and now early dinner before going to the Easter Vigil Mass.
Dinner is BBQ pork ribs with flavoured rice .

Just got back from our walk. Now I'm going to leave a note under our neighbors' mats letting them know there will be lots of ladies parking on our street Monday afternoon. I pass out about 10 of them. It's also a subtle reminder to bring their garbage cans in as soon as it gets picked up! Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's. The weather at the Master's will be getting ugly so I'm not sure how much they'll get to play today.

Haha cadoodlebug I laughed way too hard at that meme. Probably because quilting is as much ironing as it is sewing. Jeremy is having a late day at work he just told me too. So I've got to take on some of the chores he was going to do.

I am hosting dinner tomorrow, so I don't want KelleeM et al to slog through a mess!!!! I currently have my oven on self clean, so there will also be that to deal with! My table is set...I decided to use my wedding gift china, I always forget how much I love it until I get it out!

I wish I was leaving for a beach vacation! I will definitely be living thru you this week, jeremysgirl! I am like you, well, we don't go away for long trips any more with the pups, but when I DID...I want to come home to a clean house, clean fridge, laundry done, etc. Chex nix is a good road trip munchie. I like twizzlers. That meme is perfect, leannec. Our heat is radiant and needs adjusting, but we don't actually know which pipes run to what room without opening up walls. So our bedroom is upstairs and gers very hot. To the point we have our window open much of the winter, even with a fan sometimes. And blankets. I feel like my little break is over too. I have a big push these next 2 weeks to the end of the semester with teaching and grading. So glad I caught up on grading. It makes my anxiety so much better. But a busy few weeks, plus lots of baseball. Today we just finished a "junkyard date" to find parts for my VW Beetle. Just a few little things...a mirror someone crunched in a parking lot, arm rest that the hinge is broken, a fender...amazed we found stuff that is my exsct car's color so no sending them out to be painted! Then it is home to make brownies, a cheesecake, a cake, Mac n cheese, devilled eggs, all for tomorrow. We are having ham, green bean casserole and potatoes tonight for our own Easter dinner as tomorrow at Nick's family is italian beef sandwiches.

tmarschall. FOR SHAME! I am a Red Vines person. Twizzlers are just not even close. Tee-hee. My road trip snack if I could would be Swedish Swimmers, Trader Joe's Swedish Fish. They're better than Swedish fish. You have a Beetle? My very very favorite car to drive is the Beetle. My bff had one from the 60's when he was in college and I used to love driving that thing. Then he bought a new one when they re-did them in the 90's and I loved driving his bug w/the screaming purple interior lights. I'm all for you fixing your Beetle. karenlou, I used my wedding china once. It was ordered directly from the factory in France and took 3 years. We found a huge deal on it in the Caribbean. Now it sits in a plastic container in my garage just waiting to get out and play. Have a nice Easter w/your family and your favorite sister.

Hi friends!
Tonight's dinner is steak, a shared sweet potato, and salad. 😁
Went to Michael's earlier, and will have to return. The post-bound albums I got will absolutely not budge to allow me to add more pages, so I'll return those and get some D-ring albums instead (unless someone here has a suggestion/assistance!). I will, however, keep the page protectors I got. I moved our wedding/honeymoon scrapbook into a larger album, and I wanted all of the page protectors to be the same (yes, I am that crazy). I'm beginning to like 3-ring albums for scrapbooks more and more over the post-bound ones anyway.

When I was head chaperone on the senior bus for DS's senior year in band, I always bought a tub of Red Vines for each trip. I would walk up and down the aisle letting everyone get a handful. Rarely would I have any leftover to take home. Sweet memories!

Dinner tonight will be (of course) more pork & squash soup. I made soooo much. Some is going to my mom and my neighbor, but there’s still lots left. I added cabbage and zucchini, so it looks more colorful, and should be pretty healthy, too. I got married in 1979 and collected both good china and “everyday” stoneware dishes. And boy, do they both look ’70s. I did manage to talk DD into taking the stoneware years ago, and now that she is a homeowner, I’m working on her to also take the china. jeremysgirl, that sounds exactly like me trying to get ready to leave on a trip. I never actually get out on time, because I’m so overwhelmed with undone chores. I always empty all the trash containers last thing before I leave, too. christine58, it turns out you were right about the chemo cartridge thing. Somehow I missed that part. I’ll be going in on Mondays for chemo, but didn’t realize I’ll be going back on Wednesdays to get rid of the take-home chemo cartridge. Was your mom able to shower with that thing attached? UGH

I did manage to talk DD into taking the stoneware years ago, and now that she is a homeowner, I’m working on her to also take the china. A few years ago, my husband, sister-in-law, and I started cleaning stuff out of my in-laws' house. Dumpster and all. (That thing was FILLED in an hour and a half just from the sheer amount of crap in my in-laws' front closet and old game room. I'm pretty sure my FIL has since put more stuff in that closet, but that's besides the point...) My late MIL was not the best of housekeepers, and at the time, had 6 cats. She was very insistent that my husband and I take a set of dishes that had flags on them that she had always wanted my DH to have (it's important to note that he and I never had any desire to have them. Ever.). (You could have run those things through the dishwasher 100 times and I still wouldn't eat off of them.) MIL: "Did you take those dishes?" DH: "Yes, mom... [straight into the dumpster]." She was never the wiser.

Hi Everyone, leannec Have a great day! Cute meme. jeremysgirl Wow, you have a lot to do. Have a great vacation! You deserve it! scrapmaven Have fun in your scrap room. When ODS was 3 years old, he wanted a dog. He wasn’t getting one. Instead, he was getting a brother. So he went around the yard and picked up all of the snails and slugs and put them in my barrel full of petunias. Those were his pets. I use to get a kick out of him, walking around the yard collecting more pets. Of course, the petunias got eaten. But at least he was happy. The dog came later. sueg What a nice day that you have had today. cadoodlebug You are a nice neighbor. Most neighbors are not that kind. Your meme cracks me up. karenlou There are many days where I just shake my head about the dirt and mud. My dog doesn’t shed that much, but it is frustrating to see the amount of mud and dirt that gets carried into the house. Enjoy Easter with your family. tmarschall There should be a thermostat somewhere on your walls to change the temperature of your floors. Also, your comment the other day about going to games and getting junk food. How about if you put a meal in the crockpot in the morning and then it will be ready when you get home. I used to do that all the time when I worked and it was great. rymeswithpurple Your dinner sounds good. About the albums, I use to use Creative Memories albums; but now I use the D-ring binders. You can fit so much more in them. I understand your feelings on the dinner ware. lucyg The soup must be delicious by adding the cabbage and zucchini to the soup.Hugs to you on starting chemo soon. Today I have been cleaning my craft room. I am determined to get it finished today. Dinner tonight has not been addressed. I need to do laundry and run to the store for some chicken breasts for tomorrow. I can’t eat ham yet. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

Prepping for brunch tomorrow but I’m so tired. I might have to nap. I hope this isn’t a relapse. Dh said I’m coughing all night. I already knew that of course because I can’t sleep. No unpacking today. It’ll be there when I feel better. Dinner is up in the air. I have eggplant prepped for Parmesan My DDs also want to go out for tacos. I don’t feel up for that though. They can go have sister’s bonding. I don’t have china. Not sure who ended up with my mom’s. It wasn’t my style I wish I was going to the beach tomorrow. If you don’t get to the Chex mix tonight jeremysgirl you can grab a bag on the way.

The doctor already told me I probably will, but I’m looking for someone to tell me I probably won’t. My friend was a big fan of the scalp cooling treatments with chemo. Initial studies show some patients with significantly less hair loss as well as quicker return to volume after treatment. This was a few years ago, so not sure if there are any more updated studies, but something to look into if it's important to you. She was vocally vain about her hair, and was happy to not lose much during her chemo for stage 2 breast cancer (I know different cancers also have different chemo protocols).

Haha...I'm a snob when it comes to food. And I spent $100 on my oil change. 100 dollars. I nearly wet myself. Jeremy usually does the car stuff so I had no idea. Thank goodness I only require one oil like a year. Lol!

What is wrong with me? Absolutely everything hurts. I am not sick. I cannot even walk today there is pain behind my knee and the back of my thigh. This is crazy right? I didn’t get a lot of exercise yesterday or anything. I just ache.
Dinner tonight will be the leftover ham, mac n cheese and my dad wants a tomato but I am going to broil cheese on top of my ham on bread. This weekend is a write off diet wise. The ham, though, is amazing. It’s huge but delicious. Yum!

My SIL booked a beach house for the Easter long weekend, so I'm here with my SIL, nephew, MIL and FIL - plus three dogs and a bird! We went out for dinner to a gorgeous restaurant overlooking the beach - not that we could see the water, now that daylight savings has ended. My meal was sooooo good. I had Dry Aged Lamb Saddle, with Drysdale goats curd, cavelo nero, black olive.
