Hi everyone! Feeling pretty good today! Yay! Of course I start feeling better right before I go to see the doctor tomorrow I need to do a couple of student evaluations for work today and write up my sub plan for tomorrow ... then I will relax! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... here is my blurb: It's a known fact that I have a thing for younger men ... men my age (55) are just "old" ... on the dating sites they don't even try ... bad photos ... it's sad! And I state that I DO NOT CAMP! What is their top interest? Effing CAMPING! No thank you! I'll continue to be picky and probably stick with the young ones for now! Hehehehehehe!!!!! Dating in your 50's is interesting! Dinner tonight will be something from Hello Fresh if I feel like cooking or takeout if I don't! What are your plans today? What is on your menu? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Hi leannec! I can't imagine what I would have in common with a man 20 years younger than I am. Part of the reason I love Jeremy's companionship is that he is emotionally intelligent. I just can't see finding a significantly younger man who could keep up with my mind and fulfill my needs. And well, I like camping. So there's that. Jeremy does too. We plan to be winter campers when we retire. But again, it's hard to slow down and do an activity like camping if you can't emotionally connect to your partner. So basically I'm pretty happily married. We are on our way home. We've been on the road for 3 hours now and we are *still* in Alabama. Seriously the biggest part of the drive is through Alabama. GPS tell me we should be home around 11 pm. I'm going to take over the driving in a bit and give Jeremy a break. I had a good time but I am ready to go home now. Jeremy likes it so much he was picking out a beach house for us. Haha... We will stop just north of Indianapolis and get some White Castle burgers for dinner tonight. We stopped on the way down there too. We don't have them where I live so we get them when we can. Have a good day!

I have had another quiet day. DH was on a plane to Miami at just after midday, so he dropped me at a Starbucks 10 minutes walk from our church on the way to the airport. After coffee, I walked up to the chapel, rescuing some visitors who were trying to find us. After that, I made my way home on the underground. This afternoon I have been reading and knitting and watching trash TV.
Dinner tonight is stuffed bell peppers. I have far too much filling for the pepper I have, so that will be lunch on another day. Add in the leftovers from last night’s stew, and I will be set for meals until Tuesday evening at least!

We are getting ready to leave to go over into the Chicago burbs for shopping and lunch. Not sure what it will be...maybe bbq. It looks like it will rain, so a little break at Barnes and Noble for coffee and to pick out some magazines might be nice.

Just waiting for dd & sil to return from their weekend away. It went great for us except sleeping. Luke was up at 4:30 today. Fell off the bed while I got his pacifier out of his pack n play. He hit the desk leg and has a red mark on his forehead. I am so tired. There’s no cooking, laundry or cleaning when I’m done. I may just have cereal because I’m too tired to pick up carry out. Enjoy your shopping tmarschall

Enjoy the end of the weekend all!

Another gorgeous day here! Yucky weather from tonight through the week. My brother and his girlfriend are headed here in an hour and not sure what he’s bringing but he wants to grill. Will see if he can get the big grill out of my mothers garage. I have an MRI tomorrow to check the pseudo cyst on my pancreas and I’m not looking forward to being stuck in a tube even though it’s an open MRI!

I'm with you on the camping leannec..I had my fill in my 30's camping in Nova Scotia.....many rainy days/nights in a tent on the Cabot Trail.....thank God I had seen it before in the sunshine...my then roommate had not...Just a bad experience all around... Now camping is a hotel without room service, in my book!!!! KelleeM can attest to my hotel preferences after our Road trip last May!!!
Dinner will be roast rack of pork that I had frozen half of a couple of weeks back. I have corn on the cobb and either Brussels sprouts or broccoli for a veggie.
It is overcast here, rainy earlier. I did walk the dog, and am contemplating my walk....it is just raw out, hence the reason for me debating whether to venture out.
Updated to add I did my 3.25 mile walk in record time and out walked the rain which has started YEAH Me!!!!

Took a long walk and now I'm getting ready to do a load of laundry. This afternoon I will work on organizing my craft room. Dinner will be Jalapeno Chicken Poppers.

DS has ribs in the oven. He will finish them on the grill. He’s making pasta salad and I’m making potato salad. There is cornbread from the grocery store and we’ll figure out a veggie.

They sell corn bread at the grocery store? Seriously? I mean I get butter tarts year round but I like savoury better than sweet! Enjoy it thoroughly!

Dinner might just be me because Father is out for brunch with GF right now. I really have nothing I want yet, but may get inspired later. There is some ground beef that’s cooked in the fridge and I got some okonomi sauce from Amazon. It calls for a lot of cheese. I wonder if I made it with eggs and almond flour, cabbage and just a bit of cheese instead of the whole thing being made of cheese? I have some frozen shrimp and can add them, too. Today is not a cheat day! I am going to behave.

Not sure what’s for dinner. I think all the rechauffe is gone (finally). Maybe I’ll order pizza. I absolutely do NOT camp. I like a nice little motel with good Wi-Fi. pantsonfire, I’m sorry your DS was in the hospital. Glad he’s doing better now.

Doing a lot better thank goodness. Glad he’s doing better. I did end up picking up veggie pizza on the way back from taking Luke home. I wouldn’t leave the house the rest of the night but we still don’t have sod so my dog needs to be walked every time she goes out. Conveniently this neighborhood surrounds a park and every 1/8 mile there’s a trash bin and waste bags. Tge beautiful weather is gone. The temp already dropped 20 degrees.

I was hoping to not walk the dog this afternoon, cause dh feels sick and darling child has migrane. so it will be me..
I love to camp!!!! it is in my blood. in fact, last night i made reservations for august to camp by myself one night at a state park, then drive a little further and backpack on the beach and spend a couple of nights in the driftwood. (washington state). I am teaching basic camping in a few weeks to gs leaders.
fortunately, I married a camper. my son likes to camp and hike and ski, and married a woman who doesn't really do any of these things. so she did say she would try skiing again.
I am thinking about making either pancakes or eggs for dinner. we finished the leftovers up.

My college student son was hit by a hit and run car driver while on his bike early this morning. He flew off the bike. Had to crawl to get off the road. Who just leaves him? He was taken to the ER and admitted as his left leg which was hit is in such pain he couldn't walk. They already started PT. I'm on my way down there. I'm praying he recovers quickly. Senior approaching graduation.
Dinner will be takeout of some unknown variety though DS wants some NY style pizza.

So in the effort to spring clean I weeded out all the leggings that no longer fit (they are all still great and have matching g tops and hoodies etc). Good thinking, right? Turns out I lost weight (like 5 lbs) and can rescue the clothes I was getting rid of because they were too tight.🙄. I would like my weight to stabilize. I am up 6 lbs from January and it’s too much. I need to eat better on the kids-visiting weekends. I always gain, my clothes don’t fit, and then I lose the weight again.

Marina Big hugs to you and your son! Tonight's dinner was rice, corn, Mediterranean salmon (not homemade, they're from Sea Cuisine - pretty tasty!), and a broccoli crunch chopped salad (also pre-made from a bag). I also made the egg-free chocolate chip cookies again. I had to get gas tonight, so I also picked up some more salads from Aldi, and some fruit. I'm going to work on getting out for a walk in the morning again, and then make a smoothie for myself after. I also found a recipe for one that includes oatmeal. I'm trying to lower my cholesterol, so that will be a win-win (I can't get over the texture of oatmeal in a bowl, but if it's hiding in something I will like, why not?).
