I remember a time when politicians provided a reason to vote for them like a set of issues that one could support. Also was there ever a time when ethics actually mattered when it involved elected officials and life time appointed judges? Or did people want to believe politicians and judges who make decisions that affect our lives had a set of ethics and were guided by a moral compass when in fact many are not? I mean is it unreasonable to expect our elected officials and judges to have a ‘high moral character “? I ask because in my twitter timeline this morning there was…. - An article in the Washington Post of some “top GOP Lawyer” at a RNC retreat pushing the idea of finding ways to stop the youngsters from voting because that is the only way they can win in 2024.
- A piece about Jim Jordan and another Republican Committee Chair fundraising off the topics of the hearings they are holding. In other words choosing subjects that will guarantee them a big payday. They have been referred to some ethical committee but nothing will come of it I’m sure.
- Clarence Thomas’s sugar daddy had business before the Supreme Court while Thomas has been on the bench. But the chances of him resigning is between nil to none.
I get that there is no such thing as a perfect human but this is getting both ridiculous and depressing at the same time

For both parties, it's never as simple as vote for a candidate. It's just as much about turning out the vote, getting people to the polls. Democrats are guilty of the same thing with abortion.

Like I said shouldn’t those that are elected politicians and judges have a set of ethics and a moral compass especially since their decisions can potentially affect all of us?
