I noticed today that a company I enjoyed getting things from has filed for bankruptcy and their websites are gone.
LTD Commodities/Lakeside/ABC Distributing - they were all basically the same company. They had catalogs (I actually just got one yesterday), but had online stores too. I mostly ordered from the online stores. Some stuff was pretty junky, but they had some neat decor stuff that was decent quality and fun.
Carol Wright was another catalog and there were a couple more under the umbrella of AmeriMark along with Dr. Leonard's Healthcare.
Kinda sad to see that all gone, and probably a lot of jobs lost.

Yes, long ago. And I have seen the first two you listed. I have silverware with embossed apples on the handles from Fingerhut...

Wow! I loved ABC back in the day. I would peruse the website when they merged with LTD Commodities, but never bought anything further.

I'm old enough to have ordered from catalogues before online ordering was a thing...6-8 weeks shipping was the norm.
Sears, JCPenney, Walter Drake, Lillian Vernon, Lands End, LL Bean...and when I was a child, mum would order from Mothercare catalogues

Anyone remember the Tweeds catalog? Loved those clothes.

In high school we loved the Victorias Secret catalog and used to order from it… (clothing, not just underwear…) and in college everyone ordered from J Crew and LL Bean…

I received a Carol Wright catalog about a month ago and was surprised they sold sex toys. Glad I didn't have any little ones that would have looked at the cataglog. lol It is sad they are going away. Kind of surprises me since so much shopping has gone to online.

My mama used to get the Spiegel catalog and I loved it. I also remember going through the Neiman Marcus catalog every Christmas and marveling at some of the over-the-top items in there. Later I ordered a lot from LL Bean and Lands End. I remember getting the Victoria's Secret catalogs back in the day too.

Oh that's disappointing. I always love looking through the Lakeside collection catalog. They had some neat things and the prices were great. I'd usually pick things out from the catalog and then order on the website.

I used to love looking at the Betty Crocker catalog! My mom ordered from there. My grandmother bought her four grandkids a full set of flatware from Betty Crocker. I'm the youngest and received my set from her in 1987. I still use them.

Anyone remember the Tweeds catalog? Loved those clothes. I once had a Tweeds order cancelled because my sweater was on a shipment that got highjacked by pirates! I love catalogs still. I don't miss ordering from them--I like to get an LL Bean catalog, flip through it, and then order online.

I did in my late teens(18-19) and early 20's. Current and Fingerhut, are the ones I can recall, although I know I ordered from a couple ore places. In fact, if I recall correctly my very first grown up (meaning they all matched) set of towels, was on the Fingerhut payment plan, when I was 18?-19?. Looking back now, I'm sure I was a very proud adult and probably felt very grown up filling out the order form.....when I made that first purchase.

I still get catalogs from Talbots, LL Bean and Lands End. I do place orders but I usually do most of my looking online.

I haven’t done a catalog mail-order in ages. I’ll look at catalogs, but order on-line. I remember those hard years before the internet and everything was either mail-in or call. My dad used to order from the Sears catalog all the time and I fondly remember the family driving to the big Sears just east of downtown LA to pick up the packages. We would spend some time shopping the store before getting the packages. Good times!

I have told my kids stories of having to fill out an order form and mail it in and hope that in 6-8 weeks you will receive what you ordered and you had to pray that it fit because by the time you sent it back and reordered the size/style/color was out of stock.
Having to plan ahead so that you could get the item I time for whatever season you are ordering it for, unless you were rolling the dice on an end of season sale catalog and hoping to get something for the next year.
Mom saved soany Betty Crocker points that she got herself, my sister, and me 12 piece place settings of flatware. We all had the same pattern so she could buy extra when it was on sale and it would go with anyone's set.
In addition to knife, dinner fork, and teaspoons for 12, we also got tablespoons, soup spoons, ice cream/dessert spoons, seafood forks, individual butter spreaders, and iced tea spoons, and demitasse spoons.
Then there are serving pieces: meat forks (2), large bowl spoons (2 or 3), regular serving spoons (6 or 8), pierced serving spoons (2-3), cake servers, pie servers, sugar spoons and jam spoons (2-3 each).
Even though our kids were no longer babies we got an infant and toddler set for each child.
I have silver. Even more so because when my sister passed, my nephews gave some of her flatware back to mom and then when mom passed I got all of hers.
Then while cleaning out mom's "gift closet " I came across a box of new pieces to replace any that might have gotten lost. I have silver.
While I may never use all of it, my kids will never have to worry about buying a set of good flatware when they finally launch.
Even though the BC catalog had been gone almost a dozen years before mom passed, I still found bundles of points while cleaning out mom's house.

I worked at the catalogue/credit/gift wrap desk at JCPenneys when I was in high school...handing out those packages

I used to wait excitedly for the fall/ winter, spring / summer and esp the Christmas catalogs from Sears, Penney’s, Spiegel and Montgomery Wards. I mostly ordered house goods ( curtains, drapes and bedding ) from Penney’s.

I grew up far from any city where you could shop in person for clothing or bedding or household goods or toys. They all came from the Sears or Eatons catalog. I guess we were way ahead of the wave! Yes, quinlove, the Christmas catalogs were the best!

I was tortured by catalogues as a child. My mother used to get them from overseas. England and Germany, I'd study them carefully for weeks and pick what I wanted - and she never once placed an order

I used to order a LOT of clothes from an Australian / NZ clothing company catalogue. Somewhere along the way I stopped getting the catalogues in the mail, and I haven't bought anything from them in ages.

The only catalogsI flip through now are JJill, James Avery and Fire Mountain Gems. With JJill and James Avery I will then go online and do a more thorough search of the website. But I prefer browsing through the FMG catalog, though I place the order online.

I remember LTD! I never got it personally, but there would be a gal that would pass it around the office and we would put orders together. Nothing I ever needed, but there would be unique stuff you'd find. Besides that I loved looking through catalogs, although never ordered a ton, probably since we had plentiful mall options.

I get catalogs from a German clothing company, but I only ever order from them online. I do like flipping through the catalogs - sometimes I see things that I hadn’t noticed online, or wouldn’t even have looked for. The catalogs have order forms in them, so I guess some people still mail order.
