The only time I have worn socks to bed was last winter when our power was out for 30ish hours due to an ice storm. The house was in the 40s when the electricity came back on.
If I have socks on, I am also wearing shoes.

After I completely get ready for bed, I sit in bed and read. So part of my getting ready routine is to put some sort of lotion on my feet and a pair of loose socks.
In the cold months, I will sometimes keep the socks on when I turn out the light and lie down, but I always, always, always kick them off in the night. Many times, they bug me immediately, and I kick them off within moments of settling into bed, and sometimes I fall asleep with them on, but find them off when I wake up for my middle of the night bathroom run.
In the warmer months, I remove them after reading. I don't even attempt to keep them on for any longer.
The only reason I put them on is to try to avoid getting lotion all over the sheets. But my dad used to always pull our socks off when he put us to bed as kids, saying that our feet needed to "breathe", and my feet must agree with him, because they will not tolerate those socks all night.

I try not to...if I go to bed with them on, they always come off some time in the night. I am barefoot about 70% of the time in my house. I put a blanket over my foot over wearing socks.

I used to all the time when I was younger. Now I don’t. I have a bunch of slouchy lounge socks that I like to wear before going to bed because I hate wearing my lined Croc house shoes without socks, but I take the socks off when I go to bed. My feet get too hot at night and I like to stick my feet out of the covers.
ETA: I wear socks pretty much all day, every day even in the summer except when I’m at the cabin and about to go out on the boat or swimming and even then I’ll wear Crocs or flip flops. I almost never go barefoot and never did even before I had foot surgery and got custom orthotics.

The only times I go to bed with socks on are when I’ve really slathered my feet with lotion or I’m extra cold for some reason. They never stay on for long and I’m good at sticking my feet out of the covers and pushing the sock off with the other foot, or grabbing the toe and pulling. I drop them on the floor.
When the weather is cold I may wear socks or slippers around the house, but I am barefoot a good part of the year. When I go out in the winter I usually wear a warm cozy pair of shoes or boots and find that I almost never put on socks anymore. In fact, I have a ton of pairs of socks I haven’t worn since I retired, and before, and I need to clean them out.
My husband started wearing socks to bed when he developed neuropathy from chemo. He never did before that.
