Hi everyone! I'm soon on my way to pick up my girlfriend ... we are going to the Women's Show downtown ... just a bunch of booths in a convention centre but it's something to do ... Peter from The Bachelor is supposed to be there. The rest of my day will be spent marking. This is what I posted on Facebook the other day ... I don't have a bug problem on my patio but it is on the main level of my complex and faces the parking lot (and West so sunny) ... too hot and too many people for my liking ... won't be sitting out there this summer! Dinner will be rechauffe pork dumplings ... yum! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

I am making some all occasion cards to donate to my friend’s fundraiser for Alzheimer’s and another set for a basket for our retiree luncheon. We do raffle tickets and the money goes to a local charity.
Not sure what is for dinner.

I went to our women's show a couple of months ago and it is amazing to me the number of vendors who approached about gutters and siding. I was like leave me alone and talk to my husband! How very 1950s of me, right? But I don't give rats ass about things like that. The spice mixes, local authors, and homemade coffee cakes had me sold though. Lol!
I've finally dragged myself to the shower. I'm clean. That's about as productive as my Saturday has been so far. I'm going to clean up my kitchen. And maybe I will crochet. Or print photos. I'm heading to dinner with Chloe tonight. I was like I want seafood, you in? She said, I'm in, where are we going? I said you choose. Fried fishes at Red lobster or fancy fishes at Mitchell's fish market. She chose the biscuits. So red lobster it is. I'll probably eat coconut shrimp there.
Anyway, have a great afternoon everyone.

Hi Everyone, leannec Have a great time at the Womens show. Your meme is funny and is so true. christine58 It’s wonderful of you to make cards for the Alzheimer’s fundraiser. jeremysgirl Enjoy your day and dinner with Chloe. Today, I am picking up and doing my usual chores. Dinner is undecided, because it’s supposed to pour later this afternoon. Last night DH and I tried a new place for dinner and enjoyed ourselves. I hope all of you have a peaceful day.

Spring/Summer has sprung. Ugh. I am sweating from our walk. It's going to be over 80 today and I'm just not ready for that! I want mid 70's all year. I'm going to make some spaghetti sauce for dinner. I eat just a handful of spaghetti with lots of sauce and meatballs. And a big salad. And a hard boiled egg. leannec love the meme. That's one thing I love about our area, no mosquitos. They used to eat me alive in Louisiana.

Spring has finally arrived, at least for a day or two! Today has been a normal lazy Saturday, especially as DH just made it back from the US yesterday after an overnight flight. He did grocery shopping, I did some tidying, he mowed the lawns and I counted pots and made a list of herbs to buy next weekend. After lunch, I went for a walk and then we watched football and I knitted.
Almost dinner time now. We are having Cajun spiced chicken with bean salad and green salad. DH tends to switch our menu to 'what can I grill?' at this time of year!

I believe it’s warm outside here, too (East Bay Area), but I’m sitting inside with air conditioning blasting, so I’m still wearing my heavy Irish sweater. Tonight we’ll walk across the hotel parking lot to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. I’m actually thinking a big salad (I know, don’t drop dead from shock). My mom turned 94 today, and she’ll be having dinner tonight with a bunch of grandkids. Two of my East Coast nieces surprised her by showing up at dinner time last night. She is thrilled. Tomorrow she gets dinner again, this time with her own local kids (including me) plus my DD who is just arriving tomorrow afternoon. I asked her last week if she’d outlived everyone in her family that she knows of, and she reminded me that a couple of her great-uncles lived into their late 90s … I actually knew them when I was a kid. So she still has a ways to go. She also told me about an ancestor who came from Germany in 1840 at the age of 60. He was in ill health and his kids brought him here to die. He ended up living till age 96. He probably outlived the kids. OK, I’ll stop rambling now.

I need to grocery shop for something for dinner. My dinner last night was an epic flop and I threw it all away. Yuck. Today I have to do better. Today is not a cheat day. I could have lamb or something different like that. I will go through the freezer first. I am on my own tonight so I can have whatever I want really.
There is nothing going on here right now. Father is out golfing. I guess I could do more laundry. I need to go to Michaels to get some water colour paper. I could go to a Shopper’s Drug Mart because they sell this new Guerlain foundation I want to try. It’s out in the boonies but the drive out there would be good for me. I am just bored I think.

Happy Birthday to your mom lucyg! We always take a sweatshirt to wear at the crops because you never know what the temp is going to be in the crop room. DH has been replacing window screens that were ravaged by the high winds this past winter. Yesterday and today he tackled the slider screen 4'x8'. The high winds didn't affect it but when we had tenants, their kids must have poked holes near the handle. He did a great job replacing the screen and I just helped him put it back on the track.

Happy Saturday! We got up early and went to Indianapolis. There is a large hardware store that has everything. It’s your typical hardware store but on steroids. Since we built our house two years ago, we have been looking for patio furniture. We finally bought a table and chairs for the patio and matching chairs and loveseat for the screened in porch. We looked at some plants but they don’t have a lot out yet. We may go back in a week or two. I need to replace a couple of things that didn’t make it thru the winter. cadoodlebug the weather here can’t decide if it’s full blown summer or early spring. We have had two or three days in a row where it has been 80 then it gets back into the mid 40’s. It is currently 46 and a light rain. We have a freeze watch for tonight. We are heading to DD house later for pizza and cake for one of our granddaughters. She turned seven this past week. Happy Birthday to your mom lucyg.

Happy weekend, friends!
I went to the grocery store this morning and then came home and cleaned the bathroom. I then fell asleep on the sofa for a few hours.
Dinner tonight will not be our typical steak and sweet potato, but instead we'll have burgers and onion rings.
A second nap beforehand sounds nice though...

After our stressful day yesterday, today was just an easy relaxing day. We took a drive into the city because DH wanted to look at a new truck that he saw on a dealerships website. When we got there, it wasn’t on the lot and after chatting with the staff, we learned that it hasn’t arrived yet to the dealership. Then why have it on the website that it’s on the lot?? The drive wasn’t a waste because we ran into WalMart and grabbed some groceries. Bacon was on sale for $2.97 regular $6.97. We stocked up with 10 packages. After doing some laundry and taking a short nap, I cooked a roast for supper, along with roasted potatoes, carrots and salad. The salad came with Cream Celery dressing. Never had that before but it was tasty. scrapmaven: Thanks for the advice. The hospital is a renowned hospital in Southwestern Ontario known for its cardiac care. We will meet with the surgeon to discuss options before making a decision although the double bypass is recommended over stents due to DH having diabetes.

taylortroop , sounds like your dh is getting great care. Now you have a tribe to take care of you, too. **GypsyGirl** , how is your husband doing? How are you? Thinking of you today. lucyg , dh's grandmother was 96 and my mil was 94. So, I tease my sil and dh that they might only make it to 92. You have good genes and I'm counting on those genes so that we can choose our hipster retirement home together. Happy Birthday to your mom!!!! jeremysgirl , you had me at Cheddar biscuit. I do not eat seafood, but I always loved those biscuits. Enjoy dinner w/Chloe. I'll be stopping by rymeswithpurple's house for onion rings and then I'm headed to taylortroop's house for cream of celery dressing. I don't like to eat celery, but flavored in a cream o' dressing I'll bet it's fantastic. I've just gained 1000 lbs in my mind. cadoodlebug , I have to post on your Netflix thread, because I have some additions. I've spent the day underneath my blankets and I finished my Bachelor binge watch today. Tonight we're going to watch Banshees of Inshirin. Having a stupid cold is really boring. I wanna play, not rest. MOOOOOOOOMMMMM!

**GypsyGirl** , how is your husband doing? How are you? Thinking of you today. Thanks for asking. Yesterday and today have been long days and I've just not had much energy to answer before now. The surgery went very well. They were able to remove the kidney and tumor with no complications. We had to be at the hospital at 6 am, then they took him into the OR at 8 am. Surgeon was done at noon, then they got him into the recovery room at 1 pm. Then the long wait for an available room began. He was finally moved to his room at 6 pm! I left for home at 7 pm. This morning I was back up there about 10:30 and got home at 6 pm. DD came by late this afternoon as well. Today he started out the day doing okay. He sat up for breakfast (with assistance) and but by the time I got there he was having more pain, some from when he makes moves that affect the core and some from the gas/air. He does have an epidural and is pushing the button when he can, and is napping off and on. Hopefully the pain will be better tomorrow. I will go see him after lunch (DD is going by in the morning). Plan to take it easy tomorrow morning and sleep in if at all possible. I did have to laugh this afternoon. Ever the engineer, he was trying to tell the nurse that the epidural machine was empty/not working and he wasn't getting anymore pain medicine. She told him how much was left and exactly how many times he'd pushed the button for medication release! He's normally a great patient, so I know the pain had to be pretty bad for him to be getting snippy. The earliest we expect him to be released is Monday, but I won't be surprised if it's not until Tuesday. They said the first 2 days would be the worst pain wise, so hopefully he'll be in better shape tomorrow.

**GypsyGirl**, while I'm relieved to hear that they got the entire tumor, it's really sad that he is in so much pain. I hope that he can rest well tonight and that he will feel much comfier by tmw am. Get lots of rest tonight and sleep tight.

**GypsyGirl**, thanks so much for reporting in. I’m glad to hear the surgery was successful. Sorry he’s in pain, though.
