Have you got shortcuts set up for your regular phrase?
I don’t! It’s already a short phrase.

I text in full sentences with proper punctuation and spelling except in the rarest of circumstances.
I find those abbreviations like u, becuz, and ty awkward and unnecessary. If I can't type out the words thank you, then I wouldn't bother at all.
I'm so weird about not using abbreviations that I rarely type DH here but almost always spell out husband.

I text pretty much like I normally write. I like proper punctuation and spelling.

I don't text. I tell people not to text me, because they won't get a response. I don't have a "smart" phone, just an old flip phone. I'd have a landline, but I can't seem to get one anymore. I like talking on my "tele" phone.

I use all the correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalisation. I can't help it. And then if I've made a typo, I always correct it, even though the person knows what I mean. Example:
I have pad your registration bill. *paid

I'm a mixed bag. I don't worry too much about typos as long as it's clear what I'm saying, but I do use capitalizations and punctuation and probably annoy people because of it.

I find it hard to be sloppy, leave known mistakes, ignore grammar etc - it’s just been too deeply ingrained in me to let it go at my age 😄 I'm sitting next to you on that bench!

It really depends on my mood. Most of the time I will give the text a quick review before hitting send and fix any errors. If I'm in a hurry or just don't care that day I'll let them go and not mention the errors as long as someone can still figure out what I am talking about.

Full sentences, proper spelling and punctuation. I can’t help it. I struggle to not put two spaces after a period.

I struggle to not put two spaces after a period. That's the one thing that I DON'T do. But only because I didn't know it was a thing, until I read it here not that long ago. I don't recall being taught that 'rule' in typing class back in 1982. I may have been taught it, I just can't remember it.

I am a mostly proper texter. Capital letters. Punctuation. Try to spell correctly. I spell a word out fully. No >> wat r u doin (What are you doing?). No substitute words (meaning no >> prolly(probably), brekkie(breakfast), sup (what's up) etc...
I do occasionally use abbreviated terminology, meaning >> WTF!

On rare occasions I have made mistakes but if I catch it I usually send a second text correcting the spelling so that it is clear what I meant. I use proper grammar, full sentences and rarely abbreviate. I could never call my husband DH. (((Shudder)))

My Dad was a Linotype Operator before computers came into being. He printed newspapers. He would turn over in his grave if I left an error in a text! If we left a note saying where we were going, etc., and made a mistake, we would find it with red circles and corrections we we came home!

I guess I am formal. No slang or abbreviations and I use punctuation. My kids make fun of me but oh well.

I make sure the message is correct, don't bother with punctuation. I'm glad I checked a message I was sending to one of my sisters--I did voice with Siri and when I checked prior to sending, it was a bunch of nasty words, nothing that I had said. I was in the passenger seat of the car when I dictated it and can only attribute it to road noise.....

Sloppy to my family and definitely more proper when talking to friends or professionals. I do try to fix the texts but sometimes the darn autocorrect doesn’t want to be corrected lol!

I just had few 20-somethings tell me that periods (at the end of a sentence) are aggressive! Yes, I'm mostly a tidy texter. I do have abbreviations that I use frequently- bec, idk, nm (never mind), and I use just the first initials of names when texting those that I know will know who I'm referring to.

Put me in the proper category. Words spelled out, punctuation where it belongs, etc. My DB uses talk to text and some of his texts are downright hysterical.

I'm a sloppy texter but my husband is over the top proper. If I am in the room with him he asks me to proof read for punctuation it drives me crazy If I'm not around and he happens to send a text that got auto corrected and he didn't catch it or if he thinks he missed a comma or a period - he slightly obsesses about it for a bit.

I was a writer. Sending out something incorrect gives me the vapors. Grammar and punctuation are what separates us from the animals. I text like an old person, grammar, punctuation, even hyphens, unless I'm dictating which I usually do. Oh well, if the shoe fits. When we were kids old people would say, "You hooligans get off my lawn!" In a few years I'm going to be the one saying, "You hooligans spell things correctly!"

I *try* to text with proper spelling and grammar, and I reread my text before hitting send. But, I'll often catch an error just as I hit that send button. Oh well ... LOL!

My mom is a terrible texter, she is 79 so she is excused. We NEVER know what she is trying to say. So we end up calling her and that may be what she wanted anyway...LOL
My sister and I always use talk to text with each other and send away without looking. SO FUNNY!! Last week she meant to send: Gorgeous! But she had the hiccups and what came through was: Gorgeous sexy Lemay Shumark
We laughed so hard!!!!
I'm a semi-sloppy texter but try to stick with grammar basics. I'm not writing a book. And I mostly send texts to family/friends, never work related.
