I have a Samsung Ace II phone. I liked it for a while when I first got it (traded in my slide out keyboard for this dumb touch screen) but have found it to be turtle slow. Especially when wifi is on. DH has the same phone (his first ever phone) and doesn't mind it.
Both of us have a no data plan, and it only costs us $60/month for both phones.
We'd been discussing getting each other iPhones for Christmas - nothing fancy, just the 5C or 5S, which would cost us about $95/month for the two plans, in addition to the $150 up front for the phone itself (the rest of the cost is rolled into your monthly payment $5/month).
But DH decided we should hold off, these are fine, blah blah blah. I do see his point - but from a business standpoint, having a phone with data capabilities and to be able to post instagram photos when I do a cake delivery (instead of carting around an ipad and waiting until I get home to do that), the iPhone has been super tempting.
Last night, when I went to take my phone out of my purse to set my alarm for this morning, this is what I found:
Apparently, when I got out of the van and opened the sliding door to get my packages, and the passenger door fell shut on my purse, my phone must have taken the brunt of the hit. It didn't even dawn on me that it could have damaged anything, it really wasn't that big of a close. But my phone sits in the front pocket of my purse, and it must have hit the door jam in just the right way.
It turns on, but the screen is one mess of lines, nothing there.
DH is SO going to think I did it on purpose for a new phone! LOL
The bitch of it is, I haven't the time to go out today for a new phone...nothing in our small town is around for our provider, it requires a trip to the mall. Which is 40 minutes away.
Maybe if I'm a good girl and get all my cookies done today, I won't have to work all evening too? (a girl can hope)
