Reading the hotel room safety thread and someone mentioned having to leave your room in the middle of the night because of a fire alarm.
I have "travel pajamas" that I've had for many years. I have two nice matching cotton sets of a shirt and shorts. I only wear them when traveling and it's just for the reason of possibly having to get up in the middle of the night. So far, I've never had to leave a hotel room wearing them, but we do travel with friends sometimes and I never have to worry about anyone seeing me in my usual skimpy t-shirts.
Do you have travel pajamas? Does this even cross your mind- I know it can't be just me- lol.

No. Just my regular lounge pants and whatever T shirt. Am I supposed to have “good” pajamas???

For family holidays when I’ll be in pyjamas around my sons in law - yes but that’s in a villa, not in a hotel. For hotels, no. I couldn’t sleep in anything much but I take a pair of pj trousers and leave them out on a chair.

Am I supposed to have “good” pajamas??? I wouldn't call mine "good" pajamas since they're old. They cover all of my bits though and wouldn't be embarrassing if I had to run outside in them.

I usually buy pajamas as sets, although I may wear them with a different top for a variety of reasons so when I travel I pick the nicer/newer ones.

No, but not because I haven't tried. I've looked high and low for 100% cotton super soft knit, super high quality cotton pj shorts and matching either tee or tank tops, not in stupid patterns, or hideous colors and I can't find them. So now I wear a collection of vastly oversized cotton tees from the various beach towns we've vacationed at, plus some enormous black or gray cotton shorts from 60 pounds ago. Klassy, sexy, makes a statement. I'm at the point where I want to start manufacturing my own, because I can't be the only one out there, right?

no only because my everyday pyjamas are matching sets (tee plus capris or full length)

I have a black travel dress that doubles as a nightgown and a bathing suit cover-up. If I have to go down to the ice machine or outside for a fire drill, it works. It also washes in the sink. We had a fire drill once and I was fine.

I don’t have a special pair of travel pajamas, but I do wear something fairly modest when I travel. Years ago my daughter and I stayed at a motel in Tulsa for a soccer tournament. We were sound asleep in our second floor room when a freak tornado developed and touched down suddenly. It blew the roof right off our room.
Luckily, I was wearing pretty modest pajamas because it was hours before I had access to my luggage and could change.

Soma's pjs are rayon or rayon/spandex. I stand corrected. I find them to fit the “soft knit, high quality” description. YMMV

No, my usual T-shirt. I keep a pair of light joggers near the bed. And my jeans are usually on a nearby chair. I can easily grab one of those quickly if needed.

My pajamas are year round, no special travel pajamas.
My pajamas (which I wear around home, not while sleeping), are full length or capri length pajama pants(I wear the *Stars Above* brand from Target), tank top, long sleeve t-shirt, cardigan and socks. I wear any assortment of it, based on the season, temperature, and my menopausal state of being(warm and hot flashes). I also have long and short fleece robes.....if I get cold during winter mornings or right out of the shower, I can layer on top of my pajamas.
I sleep in underwear only. My pajamas are always on the table right next to my bed, so I can put them on in a hurry, if necessary.

Yes. Most of my vacations are visiting my son and his family, in Boston and FL. I have modest pajamas for those times. Hardly ever wear them at home.
I do always wear some kind of shorts and tee at home.

Obviously, pretty bad since it blew the roof off of your room!

I’ve been buying the 3 or 4 piece matching sets when Costco has them cheap for the last ten years or so and that’s what I wear no matter where I am. They usually come with capris, shorts, a short sleeved t-shirt and sometimes a tank top. I also have many, many pairs of flannel pj pants that I make every Christmas that I could bring if I was going somewhere cold.
I also have a lightweight long sleeve jacket thing that came with a set of pajamas that I love and wear almost daily, so much that I’ve worn holes in the elbows. I wish I could find another one like it because it’s the perfect weight.

Not anymore. Once I became totally responsible for the dog all my pajama had to be decent enough to go outside in. Every so often he has to go out at 3am and I’m not going out in Eeyore Jammie’s & a camisole.
Pajama requirements Long pants - must have pockets - no print or at least no embarrassing print Fully opaque no chance of seeing thru shirt
No exceptions
2 weeks ago I hadn’t bothered to do laundry and I got to the bottom of my PJ drawer and wore polar bear pajamas and sure enough the dog have to go out at midnight. Thankfully I don’t live in the condo anymore. ( although if I did my laundry would have been done as it was right there not in the basement ) And the polar bears are not really embarrassing

No but I do like the idea a lot, though. My weight has been so unstable that if I buy something I like to have when travelling will it continue to fit? I wear expensive pyjamas but they go everywhere.

Actually I do. When I went to Hawaii this time last year I took a pair that were light weight. I hadn’t worn them in a year and I had gained 15 lbs. Not a pretty look at all!
