Hi everyone! I have been up pretty much all night ... the coronation started at 2 am my time and even though I recorded it I watched it live ... I'll definitely be needing a nap this afternoon! Here is what I posted on Facebook today ... Louis and Catherine ... someone captioned it “That moment when you first realize your mummy is not a regular mummy.” I think that is perfect! My day will be a quiet one ... I'll make a trip to Starbucks and do some light housework and that's about it! Dinner is up in the air ... depends if I feel like cooking ... if I don't, it might be French Onion Soup. How is everyone (and dh's) feeling? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good evening. The coronation was on at a decent time for us - coverage started about 9am - so we turned on the TV and watched in between the normal Saturday morning things - shopping, laundry, etc. At midday, when the actual church service started, we sat and watched. Then once they were all safely back at Buck Palace, I went for a walk and DH went out to buy a few more things - both of us were back for the balcony scenes. Since then, it's been football on TV, and that will continue as our game starts in about half an hour.
Dinner tonight is lamb skewers, fried potatoes and sweet corn. DH is on dinner duty, as usual for a weekend evening.

Helping a friend later set up for her fundraiser for Alzheimer’s. We have probably 50 baskets and 25 gift certificates that we need to get displayed. The event is tomorrow the sun is finally out here drying up things.

Good morning! More adventures...we made it to the garden center with the big sale and I got everything I was hoping for...did some damage! Cannot wait to get the deck all cleaned off and planted!!! We are off to Fort Wayne a couple hrs away. I will visit the cake decorating mecca, I mean store...and get things for my birthday cake next weekend. Then Nick will go to his version of Disneyland, Sweetwater Music. It is a campus of a music store....instruments and accessories galore. I will read a book for a couple hra while he plays. They let you try everything and he is in his glory. Then we will have our favorite pizza, assuming my stomach can handle it. That will be dinner. Hoping to get things in the ground tomorrow if it doesn't rain, because there's a chance of rain all week and it will be good for everything I plant and hang. Happy spring!

Hi I slept in. I couldn’t sleep last night and am awake finally. I didn’t watch the coronation because I needed sleep more. I will watch the highlights.
Dinner tonight will be something I cook. It might be great.I kind of want steak and can make steak sauce.
My activity for today is to go to Sephora and see if there’s anything I want/need.

I'm still working my way through my recording of the coronation, and driving my dd crazy texting her trying to get details of what she got to see there. She is now ignoring me LOL She did tell me though that she was soaked to the skin out there trying to get a glimpse of everything. She sent me pictures of the mall & Buckingham palace after the festivities finished
I did take a break from coronation watching to do some cleaning in my flowerbeds as the sun is FINALLY out here!
Tonight headed out for birthday dinner, to my favourite Greek restaurant for lamb souvlaki with extra tzatziki, rice, potatoes & greek salad. And I will definitely be having baklava for dessert!

Happy weekend, friends!
We are switching up our typical Saturday dinner (steak and a potato) for steak, eggs, and hash browns.
Can I slightly humble brag for a moment? Our COO at work (who I indirectly report to) gets copied on a report I send out every week that provides details of our registration (top 5 states and countries attendees are coming from, top 5 roles/role categories, top 5 court types/court type combinations, and some other information).
He responded to this week's report with, "Thank you, Cary. It’s difficult for me to fully express how valuable these reports are to me, especially as we get closer to launch. Your level of nuance is even more useful to me than the budget reports that we get from Finance. That’s helpful too. But this is especially so. Thank you."
😭🥰

Greek food is my favorite! My friends in Indianapolis used to have the nest Greek restaurant ever. They bought an event venue, gave up the restaurant and so catering out of the venue. Next Sunday they are doing a Mother's Day banquet of allllllll the things! Gyro, souvlaki, pastitsio, potatoes, rice, green beans...so much goodness. My birthday falls on that day and Nick and I and 7 or 8 friends are all going, to celebrate my birthday and honor those who have mothered. I'm too excited for word! I'm asking for an extra BUCKET of babaganoush to take home, because I can't find anything that comes even close to theirs. 🥰

I've been reading but not posting... I love that photo of Prince Louis looking up at his mum! leannecI had set an alarm to watch the coronation live but didn't sleep well so decided to hit the highlights later (which I've been doing). Dinner tonight will be an afternoon tea - I've made sausage rolls and mini pork pies, I'm going to make scones with strawberry compote as well as tea sandwiches - egg mayo and a cucumber/herbed cream cheese. I've picked up Jaffa cakes and shortbread for the dessert course (and made brownies that I'll cut into tiny bite-size squares as DD doesn't eat either of the others). And of course there will be tea!

leannec....All the talk of dumplinggsss is giving me a craving! I've never had gyoza (sp ?) but it sounds like I need to. That photo/ quote is perfect! I'm knee deep into Love is Blind. WHY do these people do this? Yet, I won't stop watching.
I love that you're watching it! I do a bit of fast-forwarding through some of the beginning (like when what's-his-name was singing). I like to see how they are when they get back to REAL LIFE---that's when it gets really interesting. I *thought* the Japan and Brazil series wouldn't be as fun due to the sub-titles, but still enjoyed them a lot. rymeswithpurpleWow! What wonderful compliments! I love that he specifically mentioned your nuance. I'm sooo excited! We're going to pick up Peaches and Beatrice in a little bit...they're only staying 2 weeks. I'm a bit nervous about sweet Beatrice, since she's got chronic illnesses and is deaf and blind. I just hope she likes it here and isn't traumatized by her new surroundings.

I cannot express properly in words howwwww nice it's going to be to have wittle paw sounds in the house again !!!!!!! And, Peaches always follows us to the kitchen to see if she'll get a treat. When I cook, she is right there at my feet...it's soooo cute!!!! I'll have spaghetti sauce simmering when we get back--I hope it doesn't drive Peaches crazy with hunger We've met Beatrice before---she is just a bundle of furry cuteness! But like I said, I am nervous about DH having to do most of her care, which started stressing him out at the end with Henry. Even though DH is a paw-some doggie Daddy and would do ANYthing for them, it is still difficult for him to do it ALL (obvi) and I hate that I can't do more. Hee hee....if this goes like it did with Little Guy and Henry, we were only supposed to FOSTER them, but even though DH says he's "NOT READY", we'll probably fall in love with her and we'll end up adopting again!

Hi we are having pork schnitzel and Beecher’s Mac n cheese, salad and tomatoes with balsamic vinegar. I wish I had bought feta or chèvre. I just thought of that now. Darn.
I did get my errands done for the day which is good. I was watching the Kentucky Derby (we recorded it) but it was too much noise for me. The whoodle is the best boy ever and he is so sweet. We weren’t touching noses when I woke up today but we did have a great talk. He is very understanding. He told me he doesn’t like me to leave him at home. I told him that I would only be gone for an hour. It’s not like I go anywhere all that exciting but he has FOMO and needs reassurance.
I am trying to gain 5 lbs which will put me at 120. It’s not as easy to gain as it sounds when you have noise in your head to exercise constantly and watch every calorie and carb. I was at the mall and there is a great pasta place that makes my favourite carbonara and I didn’t get it. I know I should have because I love it that much, but was worried about calories🤦🏼♀️. I also should have gone there because I am weak now and a heavy meal would have helped that. Again noise (ugh). There is also the problem of loving how I look. How do you stop that? What makes that go away?
Everything else is wonderful. Life is great. Things are good.

Hi I've had a bit of a crazy couple of days. Not in a bad way, just busier than normal. We went to a bar for dinner tonight with friends and I had a turkey wrap and homemade potato chips and dip. I really, really love the dip there.

Well, I’m back to having a full fridge, so dinner will be rechauffe of one sort or another. Breakfast was at Chevy’s with my DS. scrapmaven, just this week I pinned several recipes for air fryer s’mores. Let me know if you need me to share (or just search air fryer s’mores on Pinterest). tanya2, your DD isn’t ignoring you. She’s sitting in a pub somewhere in London having the time of her life. Linda, oh, I soooo want dinner at your house! rymeswithpurple, congrats on that great recognition from the COO! scrappintoee, enjoy the babies for the next two weeks. DH won’t get stressed, because he’ll know there’s an end in sight.

rymeswithpurple, What a nice kudo from your COO. It always feels good to be recognized for your hard work. scrappintoee, that guy couldn't even sing on key. It was punishing. You also watch The Circle don't you? I'm hoping that while you're doggie sitting your dh will decide that it's a good idea to adopt a young doggie that is healthy that you can love for years to come. Finally, Gyoza is basically a fried pot sticker w/less filling. They're so satisfying and yummy. jeremysgirl, your dinner sounds really good. What flavor of dip?

Linda ...I was in a rush earlier and forgot to say your tea for the Coronation sounds jolly brillant! I'm American and have always LOVED British accents, and during quarantine, I watched sooo many UK programs, I learned (or-- learnt ) soo much English and Australian vernacular, and just loved it! (I actually paused the show or movie to look up words). tmarschall...Kudos to you and DH cutting out simple carbs. I NEED to do that !!! I know it would not only help with weight, but also decrease painful inflammation. I seriously decreased our simple carbs about 2 years ago, and used things like almond flour, stevia, etc. MUST do that again! When I tried subbing potatoes for cauliflower, DH nicely asked for tators next time and didn't care about my "potatoes are basically sugar" Ted Talk. We are sooo excited to have the sweet puggies here, but they've both got issues that are making me worry that I can't handle it anymore. We used to take fosters in and not worry at all, but I guess after seeing what can happen, it's scaring me (the issues they have due to past neglect, abuse, etc). It's obviously traumatic for them to switch "hoomans" and houses, but hopefully they'll get more comfy and happy here. Peaches is sooooo excited to be back with her "sometimes Daddy" though. We have lots to figure out with Beatrice, though. I can safely bet that pretty much NO ONE is reading this far but IF you are, have a lovely weekend!
