Asking them to support/not support an issue. Are they required to keep tally on these calls?

Required? LOL no. The Republicans who represent me don't give a crap what I think and likely never write it down. Emails and letters go directly to the trash.

What info do you have to give when you call them? I just gave them my first name and told them that Senate Bill S25 (a ban on assault rifles) needs to be passed and we should not have to live this way. It probably wont make a difference, but I am trying. If you got to March Fourth there is a lot of good info there, and follow them on Instagram. On Instagram March Forth has a script to follow when you call, but I can't find it right now.

You'll notice, your representative never available ... to you, unless you are one of the 1%.

Years ago I was in DC in a meeting about world hunger. I has asked for appointments to speak with my Senator and HR rep. It was very interesting. Senator gave us an appointment with her top aide for international matters. Aide took notes and was congenial.
About a week later Senator sent me a letter thanking me for visit and made comment that it was so unusual to have someone asking for something that was not personal.
My HR guy--ignored request for appointment either with him or his staff. I stopped in anyway. Staff acted like teenagers and didn't know up from down.
We were asking for some US money to get food to people in Africa. If I remember, the Senator said she would vote for it and HR had no clue.

Seems like that would matter them. You don't have to give any personal information, but they generally pay attention only to those who are in their district. And when I say "pay attention", I mean that the congressperson gets a rundown of stats, like "153 people called this week about the firearms bill - 1 for and 152 against; 2734 people emailed about abortion, 1476 for and 1258 against" etc.

It probably depends on your state and congress people. One of the “perks” of living in a small state is I think we have a lot more access to those who represent us. I would certainly expect information to be documented and relayed. I have had friends who have gotten hand written notes back in response to e-mails or calls.
