Hi everyone! Well, I have already had an interesting morning! I was texting with a new guy ... things have been going well for a few days ... today I find out that he loves to imbibe in pot every morning before starting his day . Ummm, what? No thanks. He thinks I'm ignorant and blocks me. No loss. I will be going to my fav place (again) this morning with Emma ... the mall! She needs shoes for her graduation ... we got her dress last time ... We will have lunch at the mall ... I'm looking forward to my burrito ... unless she talks me into going to a sit down restaurant again! Here is what I posted on Facebook today ... I have a subscription to a gourmet salad company for when I am working ... the salads are so good! I am not eating them right now while I am home ... Do you enjoy making salads? I am just too lazy! Dinner tonight is up in the air ... it depends if I have rechauffe from lunch ... What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good afternoon. We started the day with a family video call as it is DS1's birthday. I am not quite sure how I have managed to have a child who is 36 years old, but here we are! As usual, Sophia hijacked her dad's phone, and was all over the house while talking to us! Eventually, DS had to mute her and borrow DDiL's phone to talk to us. I did get to ask her what she wanted to do when we have a day out during my visit and (No big surprise!) she wants to go to the Dinosaur Museum. We went there twice last year already, and they're dinosaurs - nothing much has changed! Apart from that, grocery shopping and a walk, and I am currently knitting while watching the football. Looking like it will be a reasonably comfortable win for us today, which is good as we are only a couple of games to the end of the season and we need to win all our remaining games. leannec - I am with you on the pot. I have never used it, and it probably wouldn't bother me once in a while (assuming it's legal where you are), but not all the time. I also agree on the salads. I had a really lovely one on Monday from a favourite shop here, but making them myself is not the same. I think it is that the bought ones can have so many different things in them that is just not practical to do for one person. Dinner tonight is BBQ marinated pork, which DH will cook on the grill.

We're getting ready for a walk before it heats up too much. Dinner will be our favorite strawberry/chicken/greens/etc salad. I make a salad every night for dinner so I guess you can say I love making salads!

I hope that he and his bong will be very happy together. Find someone who is worthy of you. What a loser! You're a smart woman, leannec . You would be very bored watching his brain cell as it falls out of his head. I love any salad no matter who makes it. When I was eating normally I would raid the produce section each week or the farmer's market and throw as much as I could into my salad. A good restaurant salad was always good stuff. Dh is going to install our new garbage disposal, since mine broke a few days ago. Is it pathetic that I can't wait? He'll be outside in the garden, as well. I'll be doing assorted easy stuff and having some fun, too. It's going to be a hot day. Hopefully, the rainy days are finally at an end. Dinner is rechauffe chicken pot pie and salad. That was already planned, but leannec , sealed the deal.
cadoodlebug , btwn AussieMeg cockatoo photo and your photo of the kitten who looks my childhood cat I'm over the moon. Enjoy today, my friends.

Hi Everyone, I didn’t get on yesterday’s thread until later in the evening. But it was a fun read. I do love cooked raw vegetables and fruits, instead of a can. I wouldn’t say mushy but softer. And I love watching birds but not in a house. leannec If I could eat salads now, I love other people making them. Have fun at the mall. sueg Another adorable and fun Sophia story. She really loves you! Happy Birthday to your ODS! karenlou Enjoy your dinner out. This morning, YDS bought me donuts, a cake pop bouquet, veggie chips and chocolate popcorn for Mother’s Day. I had a donut, but I can’t eat the popcorn or nuts because of my gastrointestinal issues. But what a sweet son. I am doing laundry today and light cleaning. I am also going to watch YouTube and relax. I have chicken and beef pulled out for dinner this weekend. But it’s still a mystery, which one will win. I hope all of you are having a nice Mother’s Day weekend.

Got up and went to the farmer’s market in the rain so I could get my knives sharpened and some flowers. I also got asparagus, arugula & radishes for salad 😂 I do love salad made by someone though. I also went to the garden store because I heard they had praying mantis egg cases. Sold out before I could get one. I was hoping to work in my flower beds some but it’s so muddy. leannec the right one could be next. What a sweet son destined2bmom

we got chinese takeout last night.. it was very good and something we don't get very often. my mom never served canned veggies.. it was either frozen corn or frozen peas. and a salad every night. I don't generally have canned veggies either.
fog came in thick and still masking the coast. still working on feeling better. doing laundry today.. I have to haul it down two flights and up two flights so that will be my work out.

Is it pathetic that I can't wait? OMG! I miss my garbage disposal SO MUCH! Not allowed to have one in my condo! leannec the right one could be next. I've found the right one but he's too young and comes from a culture that would not be accepting of me ... it sucks! I am still looking though ... at the moment I am texting with a few men who have potential!

Oh geez where to start? I'm 🤣😂🤣😂 at scrapmaven comment about leannec loser man. I am also giggling just a bit that Sophia has made the dinosaur museum her and sueg place. She when she is 20, you'll have to insist she takes you there...again...to see the dinosaurs...that haven't changed in millions of years. ❤️ teddyw you are going to have to explain about the egg. I have no idea what it is or what it's for. Jeremy's kids are supposed to come over today. However I'm thinking I might leave for a while. Jeremy owes me a huge apology and we're playing the silent game today. When he plays the silent game, 99.857% of the time I break the silence. But this was so egregious that I'm not cracking until I get a full apology. So we'll just see what I end up having for dinner. I need to head off to the shower. Have a great day!

Well, since I made turkey soup AND chicken stock yesterday … I’m pretty sure dinner will involve soup. (Yes, I was right about the turkey soup. But there’s still another one of my soup cartons in the freezer that’s unidentified. Could be anything, including chili or spaghetti.) Would love a salad at this point. I can’t eat/drink cold things right now due to one of my chemo drugs. But yes, generally I’m on the love restaurant salads/hate making them myself bandwagon.

Ooh. I'm sorry that you're having an issue w/Jeremy, jeremysgirl. I hope that it will resolve quickly. sueg, little Sophia associates the Dinosaur museum w/Oma. It's your "special" place. I hope that you'll be able to persuade her to find a better special place. Do they have American Girl Shops in other countries? leannec, your relationship w/your "friend" sounds like unrequited love. I hope you'll find that love w/someone who can actively participate in the relationship.

I was outside this morning planting things that I hope are deer and rabbit resistant. Last year they ate every damned thing I put into the ground, with the exception of lavender - so this year my house is going to be called lavender hill because that's the only thing growing.
I love salads and eat a big one almost every day, but I'm a lazy cook so they are usually the kind that come in a bag from Costco.

I made a huge pot of root vegetable Japanese curry. I cheat with a seasoning packet curry mix mild
I eat it on rice. So good. I put potatoes, yams, yellow onions and carrots in it.

What brand of curry do you use? I use House I think. That’s what DS likes and I make it with breaded pork and rice. My son calls it katsukarei. Katsu comes cutlet. I haven’t made it in ages because I feed him other stuff but he loves it! Dinner tonight could be anything. It will involve meat, vegetables and a salad of some kind. It’s not coming to me easily what to make.

Happy Saturday! We’ve been to soccer games this morning. It rained during one of them. It’s supposed to rain off and on all day. I want/need to get the perennials in the ground. DH has lots of other plans. He just went outside to put the soft top on my Jeep. One of my SIL got a digital frame for MIL and she wants all of us to upload photos. I guess I’ll get around to that at some point today. I can relate peasapie . I went out this morning to find a ground squirrel in one of my potted plants. When I looked, he had been in all of the ones out front. Luckily, the family of deer that run through the back of our property don’t bother anything. I must not have anything they like! I love a good salad with lots of ingredients but I won’t make it. So I just eat a salad almost every time we go out. I ended up making jalapeño popper chicken last night. We have enough leftover for tonight.

DH and I went to WalMart to buy groceries this morning. We seriously didn’t buy anything we didn’t need and we managed to spend $308. Yikes! I hope we are stocked up for awhile.
We are excited about our fence installation tomorrow. It will be nice for Walker to just go out the door into the yard and not have to be in a line with a lead.
For Mothers Day tomorrow, I’m babysitting the grandboys all day. DS and DDIL are both working. I don’t expect anything but ODS usually gets me something since I never take anything for watching the boys as often as I do.
Supper tonight is grilled pork chops, potatoes and asparagus.

leannec, your relationship w/your "friend" sounds like unrequited love. I hope you'll find that love w/someone who can actively participate in the relationship. My "friend" and I have equal feelings for each other but we are both realistic ... our time together will come to a swift end when he finds a suitable girlfriend/wife. I will eventually meet someone suitable as well ... I'm keeping my options open!

leannec, the first thing I think of when you talk about this is that the longer you are together the more it will hurt when it ends. I hate that for you.

Hi I have a funeral to go to today and it’s going to be hot. I have dress I can wear it it that is suitable. I have a little cardigan to hide my bruised arms (someone had to re-learn not to bite me). Things are great here and all is good.

I went to the football - my team was playing DSO and DS's team. It was a 4:30pm game, which is too late for lunch and too early for dinner. I ended up buying a couple of potato cakes on the way out of the stadium.
Speaking of football, and back onto birds.... last night they had wires strung up across the top of the stadium to prevent the seagulls flying down onto the ground. Sometimes they also have this big fake eagle, which emits the call of an eagle. That one works quite well to keep the seagulls away. Hmmmm, I wonder if it would work with the cockies? 🤔

leannec truly no loss there! Hold out for the right one. People told me they thought I was too picky but it served me well. jeremysgirl I hope you both makeup before tomorrow. That is not fun! I miss Sweet Tomatoes where you could get a salad and pick what you want in it with no work. I love salads and make them but I love when someone else makes it for me. Today I did some clothes shopping at a few stores and ended up finding a couple of nice tops at Ross, including one to wear for DS's graduation that matches the school colors. Yay! DH worked in the garden while I was gone. Tonight we are having some leftover turkey and I made a black bean/corn salad as a side dish. It's a warm day so just cool food sounds great. And Finn had so much fun last night, crying as we entered the lane and couldn't wait to get out of the car and just raced away (large property) with his dog cousin. He's slept all day except his morning walk.

Do you mean "libation"? Yes, anything with cranberry is yummy! Yes that. The sad news is it’s all gone and I am sure I had my limit. I limit myself one drink a week and this was next week’s already. The funeral took a lot out of me because she had my dog with her late husband in the slideshow. Cute but sad. They really loved Dexter.

My dog is more wonderful than I could have imagined. He needs to stop wanting to go out every 15 minutes. He is all that and a bag of all dressed chips but he needs to learn to hold his pee a bit. That is my pet vent for the year.
Dinner will be wings I found in the fridge that may be anything. It looked like teriyaki when I took them out of the freezer. That could mean anything. I ate part of a muffin at the funeral and was “emotionally full” and couldn’t finish it. I wish I had. It was wonderful.
