I love salads and often prep them for Nick's lunch. Sometimes I prep one for myself and no lie...it always ends up in the back of the fridge and gets thrown out. I LOVE them in a restaurant. But we have started having dinner salads with a protein for dinner. I don't even really censor my toppings even though we are doing low carb. I use a combo of bagged salad (field greens and a chopped salad) plus fruit (strawberries, blueberries, sometimes apple or mandarin oranges),craisins, walnuts, blue cheese, cucumbers, Sometimes raw mushrooms. I just bought a number of new dressings...a jalapeño ranch for Nick. I tend to like poppyseed or balsamic. Sometimes raspberry balsamic. The dressings are all low carb=reduced sugar. This with a blackened grilled chicken breast on top and I'm happy! But I keep the fruit in a bowl in the fridge already cleaned and all the non refrigerated stuff is in a basket on the counter. I grill a bunch at once and reheat it in the air fryer. So normally I woukd say no way...I'll go to the restaurant (love McAllisters for this), but our recent changes have seen me making them at home, and actually eating them.
We had charcuterie for dinner. Spicy salami. Sharp cheddar, cranberry goat cheese, veggie Alouette, and whole wheat crackers.
I worked on my cake this evening, then we played rumicub. Sorry I am so late to post today. ♥️

The wings turned out crunchy. TMI and the meat was very nice. I would buy them again whatever they are.

Hi everyone! Today was an interesting day. I was supposed to get packed for our trip in less than a week, and I did start with laundry. But then got caught up weeding flower beds for longer than I expected. Did a quick run to the grocery store & ran into a guy I used to hang out with over 30 years ago! He was the roommate of an ex boyfriend, and I lost touch with all of his friends after we broke up. It was great to see him & catch up for a bit. Our internet decided to stop working in the whole town for 8 hours today so that was fun. Still didn't get my packing done so that's tomorrow's job. Dinner was cedar plank salmon on the bbq, roasted baby potatoes & acorn squash. And we finished up several bottles of wine that had previously been opened & had small amounts left in them LOL And the last of my birthday carrot cake. leannec - good for you kicking him to the curb! I'm with you on the pot dislike. I don't care that its legal, its not my thing & I'm not interested in hanging with people that do I also love salads more when someone else makes them! That's the job I give dh when we're making dinner. That and the bbq and mashing the potatoes sueg - my son was totally into dinosaurs too. When we went to Alberta on vacation I could not get him out of the dinosaur museum! teddyw - I also would love more info about those eggs jeremysgirl - I hope Jeremy has apologized to you by now! I know that's something I really suck at doing with dh, and I need to get better at it

I never know what I will do about dinner, until dinner time. I had chicken strips and tater-tots and diet cola at the Cookhouse for $26, instead of taking 6 minutes to have a healthy Marie dinner at home for $4.69. Life in the fast line. OK, fasting would be good for me, but like dieting, not gonna happen.

I made a huge pot of root vegetable Japanese curry. I cheat with a seasoning packet curry mix mild
I eat it on rice. So good. I put potatoes, yams, yellow onions and carrots in it.
What brand of curry do you use? I use House I think. That’s what DS likes and I make it with breaded pork and rice. My son calls it katsukarei. Katsu comes cutlet. I haven’t made it in ages because I feed him other stuff but he loves it! Dinner tonight could be anything. It will involve meat, vegetables and a salad of some kind. It’s not coming to me easily what to make. I use S&B Golden Curry brand. I buy it at the local market for $4/box.

They are my favourite to use for cooking when real is too strong a flavour (or I am lazy).
