Yesterday I bought a fuse tool, even though I haven't scrapbooked for years. And now I'm having regrets. I am compiling our family history but in a very straight forward way with text, photos and certificates etc all stored in A4 lever arch binders just in ordinary copy safe sleeves. I told myself I could customize the sleeves for memorabilia that's smaller than A4 but this morning it occurs to me the fuse tool might not even work on this type of plastic sleeve. The reviews I've found online are definitely mixed. So, I'm probably going to end up donating it but at least that means someone who wants to actually scrapbook with it could pick it up cheaply (and support a good cause at the same time). How about you, is there anything you've regretted buying lately? ETA: I've just remembered another of my shopping mis-steps, although we have been able to salvage it. I bought a handmade wine bottle feeder for the birds (there were plenty of photos around online showing Tuis happily drinking nectar from them). Turns out what we had instead was more of a wasp trap (I won't traumatize anyone with the photo I took but there were at least 15 dead wasps in the bowl when I went to wash it out for the first, and last, time 😳). Luckily we figured out a solution that the wasps can't get into - we're just waiting for the birds to find it now. 😂

I’ve been more conscious of what I buy now, but I can say maybe 50% of my craft supplies did not need to be purchased! 😂
ETA - Oh, I know! A freaking timeshare! We bought it many years ago when we were young. Worst purchase ever!! We still have it, never use it, and paying an annual maintenance fee that goes up every year. It will be our son’s problem when we are gone. 🤣

I was in college and answered an add in the newspaper for a "cheap" piano as piano playing was an emotional outlet for me during high school. The piano salesman showed up with a truck with pianos and signed me up for a $50/month payment. I regretted this purchase. I eventually sold the piano to my sister's dentist, many years later.

Lipstick. How many shades must one try, before finding the perfect shade? Why when the perfect shade is finally found, is it always discontinued?

An adobe account. I signed up for a six months deal for $15ish a month and used it for two months and no longer need it so I tried to cancel and was informed I agreed to an early cancellation fee and it’s currently $89! I know I should read terms and conditions but I didn’t so now I’m paying for something I won’t use.
Does anyone need any pdfs merged?!!

LOL, I bought one of those Fuse tools either on clearance somewhere or really cheap from Tuesday Morning. I don’t think it’s ever been out of the package and I’m sure I’ve had it for at least eight years. I also bought one of those sets from We R that has the big self healing cutting mat that you piece together and the big cutting templates to make stuff like party hats out of poster board sized cardstock. What the heck was I thinking on that one? It too has never been out of the box. At least it was cheap!
More often than not though I have “didn’t buy it” remorse. I tend to think a little too hard and long before hitting that Buy Now! button and then when I finally decide, “I’m gonna do it!” I waited too long and the thing is either out of stock, they don’t have the size or color I wanted or it’s no longer on sale. That just happened again this week. I went to the real grocery store last week (which I almost never do) and they had carts upon carts full of discounted stuff. All kinds of things from grocery items to kitchen wares, health and beauty, so much stuff. I bought a little suction cup sponge holder thing for two bucks out of one of those carts. Last weekend I was thinking, “Hmm. Should have bought one of those sponge holders for the lake cabin too.” Went back today and you guessed it, they were all gone and they had to have had a dozen of them in the discount cart last week. 🤦🏻♀️ That happens to me All.The.Time.

Waaay long ago in college I signed up for a "lifetime membership" at a fitness center. (They are no longer allowed here-maybe everywhere-since so many go out of business.) So even though it went bust, I still was on the hook to the finance company for three years at $15 per month. That was a lot for a college kid and there was no way I would tell my parents. So that was the first bill I paid each month and got nothing out of it. I think I stopped going before they went out of business.

I saw a meme that said your perfect shade of lipstick matches the color of your nipples. I'm not suggesting you pull one put in sephora but it could be a good starting point 😆

The one that instantly springs to mind is the embroidery sewing machine that I bought second hand from a friend of my mum.
When DD was born, I started taking sewing lessons. My mum bought me a fairly basic Janome sewing machine. I say 'fairly basic' but it did everything I needed it to do. I also bought an overlocker from my aunty. I used the sewing machine and overlocker heaps, I made tons of clothes for DD and her little friends, and all of their dancing costumes, plus some clothes for myself. Definitely money well spent.
Then one of mum's friends was selling her embroidery sewing machine, along with a ton of cartridges for different embroidery patterns. I thought that I would use it heaps, and even did classes on how to use the machine properly. You know what? I never once used that machine to embroider anything! I should have just stuck with my normal machine and saved myself $2500 (which was a LOT of money back in 1999 or whenever I bought it).

2 long sleeve shirts from Talbots. One was on sale and I used my birthday discount for both. I love these kinds of shirts but I seldom have places to wear them because they are either too dressy for where I'm going or it isn't the right weather. I need to buy more warm weather clothes but I love winter/early spring clothes. As a result I have more spring color, 3/4 sleeve or long sleeve stuff than I can get worn in the 3-4 weeks our weather is just right for them.

A leather sofa with a recliner on each end. The worst place in the world for me. The back cushions hit my head oddly so I had to put a pillow behind my back to sit on it. My taller son loved the thing, guess who now has it at his house.

I was just coveting an expensive (for me) dress online for months, and got around to buying it as it turned to final sale.
I love the dress- but it is much more, uh... boobalicious? on me than on the model. It doesn't really lend it itself to wearing a cami underneath. I still wear it, cause I'm like that but I bought it for a regular everyday dress. I can wear it far fewer places than I had intended to.

Well more of an experience I guess than an item. We just got back from our first overseas trip (Italy). Because I have some back issues and restless legs and am a poor sleeper I wanted to make sure we got a half way decent nights sleep on our way there (left at 10:30 pm) and so we paid for first class tickets on the way there. But premium economy on the way back. Honestly premium economy both ways would have been absolutely fine. Kind of regretting that splurge. Oh well, live and learn.

My in-laws had 5, yes FIVE timeshares. It took my ex many years to sell them all (I think it was 6 years total) and the maintenance fees were a pox on our budget for all that time.

I bought 5 tops from an online boutique store. I like 2 of the tops, the rest just don't fit right but the return policy is just too much of a pia to deal with.
Also the Cinch I bought that is still in the box a year later.

We haven't found anyone yet that does not require an upfront fee. We do hope to sell it in time. Meanwhile, the timeshare is not in our trust. We purposely left it out. When the time comes, if we still own it, we told the boys to renounce their interest in the property if they don't want it.

I figured he would forget about it. Nope. He continually asked for a piano for his birthday and Christmas for the next few years. I finally realized that I could probably rent one without breaking the bank. It didn’t need to be new or beautiful, just one that he could play on. I called around and was able to find one for $15 a month! What a deal! It was definitely older, but he didn’t care. He actually cried and hugged me so hard when it was delivered. He didn’t want lessons. He just sat down and started plunking all the keys. About a week after it was in the house, he was sitting at the piano and plunking like he did every day. Suddenly I realized he was listening for certain keys and then playing little bits of songs that I recognized! I knew he loved music, but I had no idea he could play by ear like that. We kept the piano for several years until he decided he wanted a guitar instead. He loved that guitar. I did get him lessons on that and he ended up playing with a local band all through high school and a few years after. He still plays.

My kitchen tile! We did a renovation and I picked a ceramic tile. It is impossible to clean and keep clean. The texture in it traps all the dirt. I hate it! But it was so expensive I can't possibly replace it now...

They come get it, have it tuned up and then they find a place to give it to where it will be used. Around here you literally can’t even give them away for free. Nobody wants them.

My maternal grandma gave hers to me when my daughter started taking lessons. I then tried to offload it, but nobody wanted it. It was going to cost too much to fix and tune. DSO ended up pulling it apart and taking it to the tip!

I want to see these cute/famous/expensive sweatshirts!
We own a timeshare and love it. But, we also use the heck out of it.
I bought a new outfit for a work trip. It ended up being too warm to wear. Now it’s too warm here, so it will sit for a year.
