Something upbeat!, a 'ta dah!' moment.
We like country music, but will consider other genres. We would prefer songs with words rather than instrumentals.
We won't have an aisle, as the ceremony is at the reception venue. We just want a little happy mood music after the serious vows are completed.
This is both of our second marriages, and we are early 60s. A lot of the wedding exit music suggestions seem written for younger couples.
,
I like Rascal Flatts GOD BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD. But it doesn't have a cool, upbeat beginning.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Also, is there another word for 'wedding exit'? We won't really be 'exiting'-- just moving onto the eating and mingling portion of the day.

I refuse to believe you are in your 60s, I’ve always pegged you for a decade younger!
Try Clay Walker’s “Next Step in Love.” It’s been a while since I’ve heard it so I’m not sure if it’s peppy enough.

This will be a non helpful but trying to be helpful, but there’s a (bald) guy I see on IG a who suggests music. He is so good. But for the life of me I don’t know his name. Ok before I hit reply I found him- The.weddingduo He makes some really great suggestions. He does talk about Bless the Broken Road, but for walking down the aisle. www.instagram.com/reel/CjIXhvADhK0/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

I was going to suggest Jimmy Buffet’s let’s get drunk and screw…but that might be a little over the top. 😉😉😆
Sorry I really am of no help right now I just needed to pass on what immediately came into my head. 😂
I will think about it though.
ETA I do know that the actual name of the song is why don’t we get drunk and well you know.

We used our jazz song “Just Kiss Me” by Harry Connick, Jr. I loved it! Totally fun and upbeat.

At a first-for-her, second-for-him wedding many years ago they used “Here Comes the Sun.” It was perfect for them YMMV

Not country but we played Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes and got a lot of compliments on it and people asking the name of song and who sung it. It’s a peppy happy beat.

If you like Rascal Flatts, what about My Wish? There are some good parts that could work for this, esp the main part of the chorus.

"From This Moment On" Shania Twain (both of us were married before)
"I hope you dance" Leann Womack (the first time I heard it, I thought it was reminiscent of Dolly Parton)
"This Kiss" was the last song at our reception
Best Wishes

I think you are old enough to maybe like the Beatles. When I got married in 1970 we had their song "the Word" played as we turned and went back up the aisle. It is pretty upbeat and I am surprise that I didn't fall on my face when my new Dh start almost running up the aisle. Several people talked about that song choice (in a good way) for months. In case you don't know the song I will tell you that the word is "love". www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfBEqiEhCgM

It was joyful and happy. 💕 My niece and her husband did the same song - the DJ started the song right after they kissed at the chorus "It's a Beautiful Day...". It's upbeat and cheery and like above poster said, joyful and happy. Loved it.

I vote for Stevie Wonder's For Once in my Life. I just listened to it and was singing along. It's peppy, it's happy and the best part is that everyone will know the words and probably sing along, too!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I with you much happiness.

My cousin met her husband on eHarmony so as soon as they kissed you heard "This Will Be" by Natalie Cole blast out of the speakers. It was fun!
