Hi everyone! I was supposed to go for breakfast with my mum this morning but she has a migraine. I have no real plans for the day ... I know that shocks you! I think I will invite my girlfriend over for lunch and Netflix ... we are watching our guilty pleasure - Selling Sunset! My mum was supposed to come over for dinner but that might not happen now ... either way, I'm making chili because I'm craving it! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I have a problem with online shopping ... I no longer drink, so I shop What are your plans today? What is on your menu? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Beautiful day here today. Need to get some plants in and finish the clear coat of protection on my deck. It was way too hot last week. New washer was here by 9am. Woohoo

It’s been a pretty slow morning. Took a three mile walk. Today is supposed to be the last extremely hot day. Need to water the flowers and new plants.
I think we are going to a grandson’s soccer game this afternoon. Need to go to the grocery store but I’m just not feeling it today.
Dinner will be steaks on the grill.
Have a lovely day, everyone!

Good afternoon! I went to joann's this morning and got a pattern for an apron and some fabric. When I was at that craft show last weekend a woman was selling vintage style aprons like the ones our great grandmas used to wear. I loved it but they were too small for my chubby belly. So I thought I'd give making one a go today. So that's what I plan to do now. I did just get done making cookies. Buttery Almond Swirls. Pink, just because. Tonight I will make a butternut squash and candied pecan gnocchi.

Just back from our walk ~ it's already hot. Dinner will be our favorite strawberry/chicken/greens/etc salad. Perfect for a hot day.

Hey all need to run to the store as my running/walking shoes have started hurting my feet. I slept terribly last night, not sure why so hopefully a nap is in my future! Throwing some shrimp on the barbie for dinner.

I found stew beef in the freezer so decided to make stew today. Of course my family won’t eat it so there have rechauffe mac and cheese, broccoli and grilled meat of some kind. At least it’s 50° and not 90° like last Sunday!

OMG, I think I NEED that Loch Ness Ladle so much. Also leannec, I read yesterday’s thread this morning, and I love your photo with your girls. Congrats to Emma! Yesterday’s celebration of life for my stepfather went well. Eating leftover appetizers and fruit for breakfast. Today I’m supposed to go out for dinner with my mom, DD, maybe my brother? plus stepsister and her three kids. I think I’m going to pass. Too much peopling this weekend. Mom won’t care but stepsister will be offended. I will smooth it over via text. This is the stepsister who is technically my oldest friend as we were born a week apart and our parents were good friends.

I'm a big online shopper too! I like rhe anticipation of tracking pkgs almost as much as the stuff itself. I want that ladle too, leannec and lucyg! I also want cadoodlebug 's salad and @jersmysgirl 's cookies and apron (I have a few, but I'm always on the hunt for ahem...more generous ones!). I could also go for the stew and the shrimp on the barbie. I must be hungry, although I had a big carby breakfast. We are on our way to Indy. Hi, to stormsts! One of my girlfriends is getting married...the one who commiserate with me about all our bizarre online dating experiences. She found a good guy, I think. His daughters love her. We are both social work professors for IU, just at different campuses. She is loads of fun and I wish her all the happiness. This wedding should be very fun, but we may have to cut out after dinner because it doesn't start til 5pm, and we love 2 1/2 hrs away, and Nick has to be up by 3am for work. Hoping to get a dance in there, but we'll see. Dinner will be wedding food. Steal for me and chicken for Nick I think. Attachments:

It has been another lovely early summer day here today - warm and sunny, but not too hot. We went to church this morning - a bit of a pleasant surprise as our long-term priest who was 'poached' by the Jesuit uni in Philadelphia is back for the summer. It was great to see him again, and it's also good as we have an older priest who has been filling in over the past months who I feel is showing early signs of dementia. He has asked a couple of time what language our Mass is going to be, and today he started speaking in German after saying good morning. He also seems to be getting flustered more easily, which is a worry, and sad, as he seems to be a really nice man. Apart from that, a lazy day for us. I have a couple of appointments tomorrow and Tuesday, and then I am off on Wednesday. I have a packing list on the computer, so I'll print it tomorrow and start getting organized. Dinner tonight was gyros skewers with cous cous salad and grilled eggplants, also hummus and tzatziki. leannec - I love the Loch Ness ladle. I have seen it before and was really tempted to buy it.

Today is DH’s 63rd birthday. We went out for supper last night - SIL treated us! I had cheese cappelletti with chicken and bacon and garlic toast. Delicious!
We had planned to go out for supper tonight but DH has decided he wants to stay home. I think he just gets so tired by the end of the day and has no energy to do anything. I will have leftovers from last night and DH will grill himself a burger.
Tomorrow I have the second round of testing for my healthy heart checkup. I will get a Holder heart monitor which I will wear for 3 days.
Please send up positive vibes that we get a call for DH’s surgery this week. The waiting is brutal.

Hello dinner guests! It’s Sunday and time to do something fun today.
Dinner tonight will be baked ribs with sweet and sour sauce. There will be a couple of types of vegetables and salad or coleslaw.
My dad hasn’t heard from the heart surgeon yet. We are hoping very soon.
The weather is cooler here and it’s very nice. I don’t have a whole lot of other news to report. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I was going to make sugar cookies but I thought that if I made them almond flavored it would be better. And I happened to be at Joann's this morning and thought I'd color them pink with some pink sugar on top. If were to make them again, I would increase the almond extract. I would also add some baking powder for extra puff. I would use a bigger piping tip if I used baking powder. If I didn't use the sugar on top, I would increase the amount of the sugar in the cookie to at least one cup.

I was up all night long w/a physical issue and spent a few hours getting it handled today. I'm ok, but exhausted. Early bedtime tonight and dh is gonna put some frozen chicken strips in the toaster oven for his dinner. I just want sleep. Darcy Collins, I hope that you sleep very well night. taylortroop, I will think the best thoughts that your dh is scheduled and that it's asap. tmarschall, you're such a lovely couple. I love your house. It gives me a story book, beach cottage vibe. jeremysgirl, those cookies are so pretty. I like that ladle, too leannec. lucyg, take care of yourself and enjoy a quiet nite at home.

Aw. I popped on to see how everyone is and saw our ladle. One Christmas Hannah bought it for dh (it actually came in a pack of three with different colors). Dh has always loved Bigfoot, lochness monster and such and he LOVES soup (and she did, too) so Hannah got them for him as a gift (he is very hard to buy for). She was always very thoughtful about gift giving. We have other ladles, too, but every time we have soup (often) dh looks in the utensil holder for his “Hannah laddle” and thanks her for her great gift. ❤️
