DH gets up twice a week about 5:30 for an early tee time. I always set the alarm and the other night the alarm on my clock radio kind of malfunction. It ended up being okay but later that day I realized I could have asked Alexa to wake him up. What a *duh* moment. I will use her in the future!

Why can’t he set the alarm? It is his golf appointment.

Why can’t he set the alarm? It is his golf appointment. Why can't she do something for her husband?

Why can’t he set the alarm? It is his golf appointment. I knew someone would ask this. The alarm clock is on my bedside table so it's just easier for me to set it. He cleans the bathrooms and vacuums/cleans all the flooring so he does his share.

@cadoodlbug sometimes no explanation is needed for why we do something for our DHs. We just do. Because we love them. And we want to be kind to them. And spoil them a little. I think we all forget that is part of a loving relationship. Doing little thing’s every one in a while is cool, just not to the point you lose yourself or render them incapable. I know my DH does dozens of little things that I don’t always even notice and if you ask, his answer is just because he knows I love that! Hugs to you!

I don't even know what an alexa does (although I am familiar with the term), haha!

I don't even know what an alexa does (although I am familiar with the term), haha! We have the Echo Dots in 4 rooms of our house. I use it mostly to listen to music or if I need to know something. "Alexa, how old is such and so actor?" Also, DH's office/painting studio is downstairs and my craft room is upstairs so we use it for an intercom. Now I'll use her as an alarm clock!

So if he asks me to rub his feet or scratch his back, I do. Before the baby came along, I also used to cook dinner most nights. 😝 He also cleans my hair out of the drain. For that alone, he was the one.

I always set the alarm and the other night the alarm on my clock radio kind of malfunction. DH kept this old ratty clock radio by the bed so I surreptitiously got rid of it when he retired. We use Alexa and add a cell phone backup if it's important. If I absolutely need to know the time in the middle of the night, I look at the thermostat. He cleans the bathrooms and vacuums/cleans all the flooring so he does his share. That's a unicorn right there!

It’s too easy to push the wrong button in the dark to turn it off which screws things up so I just do it. In all reality though, the 85 lb furry alarm that sleeps with us works so much better than any clock in most cases. He’s a lot harder to ignore, LOL! I wish mine cleaned bathrooms! It’s my most hated chore.

I always use Alexa for an alarm. DH uses his iPhone. Using the iPhone is probably the better idea because if we lose power, the Alexa doesn’t work, but the iPhone does. And then there’s the fact that he needs an alarm to get up to go to work and I do not. Even though I occasionally set my alarm for an early morning appointment, it’s really kind of pointless, because at least one of the three dogs will get me up by 5:30 every day anyway. Ha.
As far as doing things for each other, while I do the majority of the house work, it should be noted that in over 51 years of marriage, I can probably count on one hand (slight exaggeration) the number of times I have put gas in my car. It’s some thing that I hate to do and he has always done for me no matter what the weather is. I am more than happy to cook his meals and do his laundry as long as I don’t have to fill up the gas tank.

My husband is the one who always sets an alarm - but I'm the one who deals with ALL the paperwork everywhere. I think it might have started because in his 20s he needed different glasses for reading vs everything else - but it's been almost 30 years so who knows. I actually made my kids fill out the immigration form last time we flew as I realized like their father, they'd never seen one. With long marriages we all end up doing little things for our spouses - or big things. Oh and for the record if we actually need to set an alarm, he sets the bedside clock, iPhone and Alexa cause he's crazy like that even in a hotel he'll set the clock, call for a wake up call and set his phone. He's definitely the belt and suspenders type!

I apologize for being so snarky. No excuses. Awww. That's very nice of you.
Dh fills my single cup coffee maker w/water each am. During the winter he turns on my bed warmer. It's those little things that make me feel special to him. I like to do little things for him, as well.
