Hi everyone! I had a huge message typed out describing my plans for my vacation that I'm leaving for on Friday and the board ate it! I'll give the details tomorrow instead No big plans today other than setting up some electronics (AirPods and AirTag) for my trip ... Oh, need to buy some cranberry juice and some iced tea without the ice ... woo hoo!!! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... it really touched my heart ... especially since I have a senior citizen cat named Ella ... she lives with Grandma now and loooooooves her! Dinner tonight will be rechauffe pork dumplings! Yum! Ladies! Do.Not.Stress about Father's Day! I love that we can all share our experiences, whether good or bad, but I really believe that day's like these need to just go away I would be happy with just celebrating Christmas (because I love the decorations!) and that's it! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Blasphemy not to say Halloween! That holiday is my absolute favorite! 🎃 I'm almost done with my laundry. The roof repairman was here this morning to hopefully, fingers crossed, fix the leak that they didn't fix when they put the new roof on. I still have a hole in my kitchen that needs to be re-drywalled but we didn't want to do it until we are sure the leak is taken care of. Jeremy went and got new tires this morning and he hit the grocery store. I'm baking chocolate chip cookies right now and then I will run to the library and the pharmacy. The kids will be here at 3 today with my grandson. I'm making ribs and macaroni and cheese. I'll have a salad too. But the rest will not I'm sure. I love my kitties too leannec!

I'll be running over to jeremysgirl 's house in order to steal the chocolate chip cookies that she just baked. hehe. I love my kitties, also. The big guy in your avatar looks similar to the smaller guy in my avatar. I need to post a photo of my Russian Blue kitty, too. He's a total lap cat. leannec, will you adopt new kitties or take your kitties back or is it nice to just have a clean, quiet house? leannec , I can't wait to hear about your trip. I'm so happy that you have an upcoming getaway. I can handle the thread while you're gone. Just let me know which weekends to take. Our family of nerds is going to an escape room this am. I want to drive yds's new car. Tonight we'll celebrate his birthday. Ods ran out last night and got all of the candy/junk food that I'll put in his extra large goody bag. When they were growing up I would decorate the kitchen or their rooms and put their favorite junk treats out for them to enjoy. Yds is a bean pole and eats healthier stuff, so I don't mind doing that once per year. Dh is making pizzas for dinner. Have a fun weekend!

Hi there! We are scrambling to straighten things up a bit before Nick's daughter and the boys get here in about an hour. I made the lemon cake last night and it turned out well. It may be a bit dense but we'll see. While I would prefer ribs and Mac n cheese. I am just ordering pizza and setting out a bowl of fruit. We have the choc chip cookies I made the other night too. They won't be here all day. Not sure what any other plans are yet. We have houseguest coming toward the end of the week so this is a good dry run for getting the house back together. I recommend a party or weekend guests every so often to get projects done and a good deep clean! Have a happy Saturday! Attachments:

That cake looks amazing tmarschall and you're better off not coming for dinner tonight. Jeremy is very territorial about his Mac and cheese. 🤣

Happy Saturday! I would also be fine with no holidays beyond Christmas. I used to enjoy Halloween but with the girls grown it doesn’t hold the same appeal for me. I have kept a bin of my favorite decorations in case I change my mind. Dinner tonight is steak with mushroom sauce (for dh), baked potatoes, and roasted cauliflower. I worked out some this morning and will do the rest tonight (yoga is always at night for me) and plan to spend the whole day just hanging out with my dogs and scrapping.

Just got back from our walk/hike ~ it's warming up quickly. Dinner will be our favorite strawberry/greens/snap peas/yada yada salad. Yum! My dad was my hero growing up. Even when my sister and I were adults, he would still give us a kiss on our cheek goodnight when we were visiting them. He passed away the day before DS's 3rd birthday and it hurts my heart that he never got to know him as he grew up.

cadoodlebug, ((((HUGS)))). I firmly believe that your dad is always w/you and has seen your ds grow into a fine young man. Though, I know that's not the same thing. paget, escape rooms are a great fun and a great way to feel completely stupid. You'll enjoy it. For any gamers or people who enjoy video games or games on your tablet I highly recommend immersive game rooms. So much fun and a workout.

I have more chicken and broccoli.. but I also have some good leftovers. so I may have dh and the child have leftovers and I'll have something out of the fridge.
remember I was telling about a friend who had parkinson's, and is moving cross country to have a level house and be near family? a few days before they were to get on a plane, she had an episode of altered mental state.. her dh took her to the hospital and she has been there a week. they don't know what is going on. we were going to visit today, but her husband called and said she had a bad night.. and her emotions are all over the place. so here they are, house sold, house in atlanta bought, car shipped.. and she is in the hospital. her sister did fly in to help.. but we are worried.
so instead of going out. I'm back to laundry and stuff around the house.

Hey all - thanks jeremysgirl - now I'm craving chocolate chip cookies! Maybe I'll talk my daughter into baking some. No big plans today - still trying to get the puppy to eat - so sticking close to home. I think burgers are for dinner. Such a scary situation ntsf - I hope they're able to stabilize her. We LOVE escape rooms! We did one just last month and made the leader board for fast escapes - we were embarrassingly proud of ourselves. Have fun scrapmaven !

leannec, will you adopt new kitties or take your kitties back or is it nice to just have a clean, quiet house? No new pets for me! I loooooove having a home with no pets or kids! It is CLEAN!!! Ella loves Grandma and Grandma's young Ragdoll cat, Milo, so I would never separate her from them! leannec , I can't wait to hear about your trip. I'm so happy that you have an upcoming getaway. I can handle the thread while you're gone. Just let me know which weekends to take. I'll try again to tell everyone about it tomorrow! I will only need next weekend covered ... thanks!

I went to a “Dog Festival” with my bestie today. It was everything dogs and it was a benefit for the local Humane Society, which is where we adopted Walker. I didn’t take Walker because he would have been crazy but there were dogs everywhere! Lots of displays and booths. I came home with two bags full of samples and prizes - training treats, toys, biscuits, etc. So much fun and I love free stuff!
DH is at a car show with my brother and I’m waiting for a visit from my mom.
Not sure about supper tonight but leaning towards grilled steak.

leannec, I have your back next weekend. Just go and enjoy your trip. ntsf, I'm so sorry about your friend. Parkinson's is nasty and cruel. Darcy Collins, we tanked the room. They gave us an extra 10 minutes and we still didn't get out of the room. At one point dh and ds were in a separate area trying to figure out a puzzle while I had to watch a screen. I was getting both annoyed and entertained listening to them both be wrong. Don't listen to me. Ohhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooo! Honestly, the past 2 weeks have been tough, physically and I had some not fun news on Thursday, so I needed some time off.

I’m glad the escape room could take your mind off things scrapmaven. I’m sorry you had unwanted news. I can’t wait to hear about your trip leannecWent to the farmer’s market early. It also had an arts festival. It was too crowded to even walk. Then I went to the garden store to get some more flowers for hummingbirds. Not sure where the day went. Grilling steak with baked potatoes, asparagus & salad. Watching Luke while his parents go to a concert. That cake looks delicious tmarschall. I’m glad Nick will see his family. I totally agree about having houseguests or a big party. I’d never get any new projects if not for that.

I went to a “Dog Festival” with my bestie today. How FUN! We used to go to alll kinds of fun doggie events! I can't wait to go again! ** ntsf ---I hope your friend will be okay, what an extra stressful situation when they're moving cross country! ** jeremysgirl ---I hope we'll get to see piks of the cute babyyyy! **lucyg----how are you? Went to the farmer’s market early. It also had an arts festival. I can't WAIT to do things like that! There's a huge arts festival each Spring, and we had such a blast people-watching, looking at cool art, and...umm...all the FOOD TRUCKS! ** tmarschall ---your cake looks yummy AND pretty! Are the cute lemons made of marzipan? ** sueg ---I love hearing about cute Sophia! Questions about your Dad--you said he had to leave "ME" (Middle East ? ) Was it his Dad that had to stay in a WW2 camp, or him? Then he had to move to Australia where he didn't know the language---how stressful for a young boy. ** scrapmaven ---I'm glad you finally had a fun time after your bad news. On a silly note, is it time for me to design a new teeshirt ?

ntsf - I am sorry to hear about your friend leannec - I am looking forward to hearing about your vacation It is Sunday morning here and I am the only one awake in the house. My sis and her DH were out at a friend's birthday party last night, so not sure what time they will surface. My nephew headed off up north with friends on a camping trip yesterday. I am about to get ready to drive across Melbourne to visit my younger sister. Sophia and Lucia have a birthday party for a young cousin (on mum's side of the family) so I won't see them today. My sister told me that one of our nieces is visiting her for the weekend, to help her out with a few things she has found difficult during her broken leg recovery so it will be nice to catch up with her too. I had dinner last night with DS and family and he made a really yummy ramen noodle soup with crumbed chicken on top. Sophia told me it is one of her favourite dinners.

sueg ---I love hearing about cute Sophia! Questions about your Dad--you said he had to leave "ME" (Middle East ? ) Was it his Dad that had to stay in a WW2 camp, or him? Then he had to move to Australia where he didn't know the language---how stressful for a young boy. We have a remarkable family history on dad's side. His parents were both born and raised in Egypt, of Italian and Maltese parents. After they married, they moved to what was then Palestine, now Israel and dad and his brothers were born there. My Nonno was a cartographer (map maker) who worked for a British company. When the war broke out, he was considered a security risk as he was an Italian national and so was interned. Nanna and the kids were also taken into the internment camp. They were sent to Australia to stay for the duration of the war and were in a camp about 200 miles north of Melbourne. After the war, the were offered to chance to be repatriated to Italy, but they didn't want that, as they had never lived there. The Australian government said it was too risky for them to return to Palestine - this was only a couple of years before the creation of the state of Israel - so they 'chose' to stay here.

What kind and recipe please! It was a spinach salad. I toasted some pecans first. Let them cool. I used baby spinach and chèvre (crumbled),local strawberries and balsamic glaze. It looks beautiful, too. Our local strawberries are ready and they are wonderful.
