All these threads about meeting your DH/SO had me thinking back to our first date. My folks and I were visiting my sister in CA so my mom used one of those hair *frosting* kits that had been successful in the past. Something went wrong and the plastic cap leaked so one side of my hair was totally blond. And I had my first date with DH in less than 4 hours.  So, I wore my hair up for the next 5 months! This is a camera picture of the photo I took since it's now firmly attached to a scrapbook. He took me to a wonderful French restaurant in a town about 25 minutes away. Then we went to another restaurant around the corner to listen to a jazz band. It was perfect!  Let's see your pictures! It doesn't have to be the actual first date but soon after you started dating. |

Super cute photo! I would have been so stressed over the hair...it looks great up though. This is about three months after we started dating. I was over at his apartment taking photos of dh and his roommates and their place. I was big on photo documenting things. I've done a whole layout about that apartment and the folks who lived there. One of them took this snapshot of us. I had a lovely perm.  |

No, but I kept the dress and blouse.
What is funny--a few years later I tried it on to see if I could still wear it. That dress would now qualify as a tunic!! (mini skirts were in style when I met him).

 Not first date but back in the day. We started dating in 8th grade - this was probably junior or senior year of high school. We stopped dating freshman year of college and at some point lost touch. We went 28 years without contact. Ran into each other on Facebook at age 48 and married at 50. Last Sunday was our 12th anniversary! |

no.. we were hanging out in the parking lot of a ski area... how romantic. I was hoping to ski out of bounds with him the next day, but could never find him.. (no cell phones).
and then we went out to a bar in seattle on our second date. (across the street from the original red robin burger place. the bar is still there.. red robin is gone)

I don't have a photo, but if I did it would be of me laughing hysterically at the way my dh cannot play tennis. We were in high school and went to play tennis. I was doing a tennis camp that summer and was really playing. Dh was not a tennis player and couldn't get the ball over the net. After 15 mins we called it and went for a long walk, instead. I am not athletic, but I used to play tennis and I could really swim. Dh does neither of those things.
Part 2: We had broken up in high school, maybe saw eachother once in a while, but I was convinced that we were done. I had moved back home to go back to college and was taking an algebra class that was giving me grief, as it always did. Dh called me, because he was visiting his parents and had heard that I was back home and in college. He tutored algebra students and offered to come over to help. We've been a couple since that night. We don't have photos of me unable to do algebra and dh shaking his head.

I don’t have a photo of our first date but I do have a photo from the night we first met. Thank goodness for annoying friends with their digital cameras in bars! I have it framed in my sons bedroom so he knows his parents weren’t always lame and boring. We used to be fun and went to karaoke bars!

No. It was pre digital photos so taking a photo with a real camera on a first date, in most cases (unless it was a school dance or something), would be a little strange. We were adults who worked at the same company and met at work. Our first photo together is maybe a month into dating.

Nope, that was decades pre-digital and pre-cell phones so no selfies unless you happened to be where there was one of those photo booth things! Plus it would have been really weird. I’m sure there are photos of us together from some point in that general time frame but I have no idea where they might be.

Definitely no photo.
But our first date was lobster dinner at Scomas in San Francisco- then we went up to The Starlight Room on the top of The Sir Francis Drake Hotel - I used to *love* hanging out in what I considered it’s cheesy bar with fabulous views - where we had our first kiss.

I have a photo I took of DH on our first meet up but I'm not in it. A few weeks later we both traveled to an out of state event and I have a few photos of us there. Wish I did have me on that first meet up because I froze my ass off looking super cute.

We have a photo of us on the day we met, which was a week before our first date. We carpooled with a mutual friend to a board game event at a local college. Turns out we had even more mutual friends and ended up playing at the same table most of the day, with the same group of people. The photo includes all of us playing a board game.

We randomly have a photo of the night we met- on Bourbon Street in NOLA and the pic was taken by his super drunk girlfriend. We didn't start dating until a few years later, the second photo was from the weekend of our first date, we had been talking long distance for over 6 months.   |
