I have some extra money burning a hole in my pocket...I don't need a Kitchenaid mixer but I really really want one. Kohl's has the Artisan 5qt for $194 with all the discounts & rebates. If you have one, do you love it? Why?

Mine is more than 20 years old, so I know nothing of the ones they have out now, but I love mine. No specific reason other than it has lasted this long and does a great job. If you have the money and need a standing mixer, I say go for it! People spend more than that on a bag or pair of shoes they will only use for one season, lol. The mixer will be your friend for a long time.

While I don't use mine but a couple of times a year when I bake, I do really love it!!! It is a work horse and will last forever....it also looks great on the counter....I call it kitchen art.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Love it! I use it almost daily. Cookies, pancakes, bread, muffins, brownies...should I go on. I've had mine 10+ years & is a work horse. The only thing I don't like...I want a pretty color! Mine is black & I would love one size larger & either Tangerine, Canopy Green or Aqua Sky.

I just used mine today for a double batch of chocolate chip cookies that my old mixer would never have been able to handle. Yes, I love that machine!

I have had mine for maybe 14 yrs. I love it dearly I use it often. It was one of the bigger ones that has the bowl lift not the ones where you have to pull it back yourself. It is taller than those too.

Mine IS Kitchen Art! It is grape purple! It is left out on the counter because I use it a lot. For making biscuits, homemade rolls/buns/bread, cakes, cookies, candy, pizza dough, and to mix up my ice cream ingredients.

I use mine for baking, potatoes, dough - I love it! I read this as "use mine for baking potatoes" and I couldn't quite figure out how that would work. Yes, I love and use mine quite a bit. Most used free standing appliance besides the toaster.

my I do love mine. I don't use it a ton, but when I do use it, it makes baking so much easier. This. While I didn't actually NEED one and could have made do without it, I do really like it. It does making mixing things so much easier. Last year I made 3 batches of homemade marshmallows, with a KitchenAid handheld mixer. It stood up to the test but I wish I had my big KitchenAid before Christmas, instead of after.

In addition to mixing up all my baking stuff, I use mine to shred chicken. Boil the chicken and while it's still hot, put it in the mixer bowl. Use the paddle attachment to shred it up. Quick and easy!

I love mine. I think that the one thing that having it did for me was to make it so that I bake more often. Instead of struggling with a handmixer and all the stopping and starting to add ingredients, the mixer made the process so much easier. With easier came frequency, and with frequency came confidence. For example, pre-kitchen aid, making chocolate chip cookies was a bit of a chore-the hand mixer was messy, you had to stop it to add the ingredients, it took a bit of time to mix everything together...with the big mixer, it takes all of 10 minutes and can be done on whim just plopping in the ingredients as the mixer does all the work.

$194?!?!?! I'd buy 3 of the suckers!
I hope you people appreciate how cheap stuff is for y'all! I have been considering a Kitchenaid mixer for a couple of years now, and here they start at well over $600.

Yes! Mine was a wedding gift and it was pre-fun colors, so it's boring white. BUT I do love it. I can't imagine baking without it. I make mashed potatoes, bread dough, and shredded chicken in it regularly too.

It's red and I love the looks of it. I don't use it all that often, but it's great for pizza dough--a chore I formerly hated.
Great for holiday baking, too

I love mine, it's a 5 quart artisan that I got last year for Christmas, although I used it before Christmas cookies, I couldn't believe how easy it all was! We make meringue cookies, I could easily double the recipe and it was just so easy. I love that you can add ingredients as you go without having to stop. I use it for many things, quite often. I wish I had one long before last year!

I got one for a wedding gift. It outlasted the marriage. I don't use it often, but when I need it, I'm so glad I have it. Especially during holiday baking.

Definitely worth it. We have my husbands Grandmothers Kitchen-Aid and it still works! We also have one of the newer, larger ones and it really is nice to have. I hate to bake, so anything that makes it easier when I have to do it for some reason is worth it me.

No. I held out forever on getting one and finally did last Christmas. It has a spot on my counter so I have plenty of opportunity to use it but I still prefer my KA hand mixer and use that the most often. As far as I'm concerned the nice 6qt. Pro Series Mixer is just an expensive kitchen decoration. I regret giving in and buying one.

Yes yes I do. I absolutely never wanted one, was even annoyed when given it as a gift. Turns out it's best thing ever, I leave mine out all the time, no appliance garage. If I had to lift it from cabinets I'd never use it. It gets used at least twice a week and in not really a big cook.

I used to know someone who made them with chocolate chips, I wish I had the recipe.
