The lyrics are certainly timely in today's world: You can't talk to a man who doesn't want to understand. You can't talk to a man with a shotgun in his hand. It was a very good year for the undertaker.
I am watching a PBS special on Carole King and the song was played. I had forgotten about the song, but it was very popular in 1970s (before most of you were born).

That song was on her Tapestry album. I played it endlessly.

That song was on her Tapestry album. I played it endlessly. I suspect it was part of the "score" to many of our lives.

Add me to the Tapestry fan club. I skipped over Smackwater Jack after the killing in in the church in Charleston SC. It is eerily similar.
I just finished her biography this week! If anyone is interested in the book, just send me your address.

I saw her in concert at the college I went to. I was in one of the first couple of rows of seats. It was amazing. She performed alone….I can’t for the life of me spell the other word. Then after she had done so many songs her daughter came out and sang both with her and alone. Her daughter sounded just like her.
One of my favorite concerts…oh and that was in 77-78.

Tapestry is still one of my car CDs. (And yes, my car is old, it has a 6 CD multi-changer AND a tape player.) Sometimes that song is a bit close to home, and I skip it. I also have Banks of the Ohio on one of my other CDs and I skip that one too.
