I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. I love the Kureig as I can brew my single cup and go on about my day. That said, I also like blended coffee drinks and have been looking at the Nespresso as the Kureig is slowly dying.
I can get a bundle deal at sams with the Vertuo model, which will make regular coffee, plus the frother for a good price. My concern is will I really use it and is it worth the cost of both the machine and the pods if I'm primarily making brewed coffee? Lets be honest, I'd love to say oh I can make a mocha at home with the milk and the syrup, but the reality of my morning routine means I get a brewed cup of coffee with a splash of creamer. Mochas on the weekend when I feel like it. I'm nervous I won't use it.

I have a small Nespresso, the original not the Vertuo. I make drip coffee for everyone in the morning but in the afternoon I have my espresso or my latte and I enjoy it very much. The original has other brands that are compatible with it. It is not technically dual but the amount of water that goes into the coffee is adjustable so I don’t think it necessarily needs to be dual. For me it was worth it.

Personally I prefer a simple setup. A Kureig or whatever and a manual frother. Very easy and much cheaper.

I have both and used both. My Nespresso made the best tasting espresso shots! When I was working, I could just have an espresso so much faster than drinking an entire cup of coffee which was great when I needed to be out of the house fast. I bought mine years ago and it doesn’t have the attached froth component, which is fine with me because I didn’t use it that often and I preferred the smaller footprint mine has. My frother is a separate little electric machine that whipped the milk at super high speed instead of steaming it. It does have a heating function too and apparently can make pudding or gravy, which I have never done. It got used mostly for super creamy hot chocolate for my son and friends.
I had set up a coffee station with both machines and both types of pods and let people choose whichever they wanted. It was great for after a dinner party. I could just leave the coffee setup where it was and put the desserts next to it. I had stacking espresso cups that saved on space too. My ex fiancé’s daughter-in-law went crazy for the Nespresso. She would insist on making one for people instead of letting them make their own because she liked playing with it. She told her husband she wanted one and I told her that you could not buy the pods locally (at that time) and had to order them from Italy so you really needed to think ahead. Her husband growned and said that would actually make her want one even more. I was trying to discourage her because they were very young newlyweds and didn’t have a lot of money for frills and I could tell her husband didn’t want her to like it. It didn’t work.

i don't drink regular coffee but i do love specialty coffees. we have the Nespresso Lattissima Pro. it cost $600+. DH fixes all my drinks so i couldn't tell you the specific name of whatever he's making me. we use the Nespresso pods for my drinks but DH also buys other brand pods for his drinks. he says you can't tell the difference but i can.

The Nespresso makes better coffee, hands down. I have both but use the Nespresso 90% of the time.

I have used several kcup brewers and was never really happy with the coffee except for the convenience. A few months ago I bought a Nespresso Vertuo and hands down it makes absolutely the best coffee I’ve ever made at home with the convenience of using capsules.
I also like that Nespresso provides prepaid packaging to send them used capsules for recycling. Just fill the bag and drop it off at a UPS store.

Nespresso FTW. I have an original line with a frother and I love the ritual of making a latte for myself in the morning. It is fast and easy. Yes it was expensive, but well worth it, and much cheaper than going to Starbucks or the like. If I have someone over who wants something like a Keurig makes, I just make them an Americano.

Nespresso is the way to go. I have the original and the Aeroccino frother. The machines make better coffee and the coffees available are better quality and taste much better. In addition to the Nespresso pods, we like the Illy pods. Those make some of the richest and smoothest coffee ever.

Ok, I've pulled the trigger on the Vertuo that comes with the frother, sample pack of capsules and a $30 GC to the Nespresso storefront. Hit me with your best pod recommendations - If I'm reading correctly some pods are designed for expresso vs a full cup of brewed coffee. What are your favorites on the lighter end of things?

When we got our first Nespresso machine, one of the things they offered was a mixed pack of a dozen or so different pods. It was good to get a taste of what we liked, without committing to 10 of each sort to begin with. We now have 5 or 6 varieties we regularly buy - that includes stronger and weaker regular coffees, decaf and flavoured ones.

sueg do you buy direct from Nespresso or the grocery store? I buy directly from Nespresso as they don’t sell the pods in local grocery store here. We also have a Nespresso boutique that I go to occasionally. I can buy the Illy pods at my Sur la Table. I prefer their decaf pods to the Nespresso ones.

When my keuring died, I did not want another because every so often it would refuse to brew a pod. I found a machine made by Instapot that brews all pod and
espresso/nespresso capsules. All brands, no funny stuff. It works like a dream. I think I bought it from Amazon on one of their prime days. Fabulous... take a look at them.

sueg do you buy direct from Nespresso or the grocery store? We buy from Nespresso, either the boutique or online. That is the only place we can buy Nespresso branded pods. Our grocery store sells some off-brand 'nespresso compatible' pods, including Starbucks varieties, but we mainly stick with the real deal.

The Vertuo model takes capsules which are significantly different than the ones for the original Nespresso models. They come in different sizes as you can make an espresso shot, a double shot, a cup or a carafe (18 oz.) size.
Amazon does sell some of the branded capsules and with Prime you can usually get same day or overnight delivery. That probably varies by your location. I mainly order using the Nespresso app which is easy to use, and you can create recurring orders. There are good descriptions of each kind of coffee along with a scale indicating the intensity of the roast.
With the model I have, through the app you can connect to the internet. Then software updates can be sent to the machine.
Enjoy your new toy. I hope you love it as much I do.

I've spent a decent amount of time on the site now, I'll have to look into the app. I noticed you can buy single pods, so theoretically you could build a sample box to try? I'm already tracking when it ships on the sams club site!

I'm already tracking when it ships on the sams club site! You cannot buy a single pod online or in the boutiques. That's the tricky thing about the Nespresso website/app. It shows the individual price of each pod/flavor, but when you go to add it to your bag, you can only add in quantities of 10. In other words, you can only buy an entire sleeve of pods which is 10 pods. That threw me off at first as well.

I would get the Instant Pot Instant Pod. It brews both Keurig and Nespresso. I was encouraged to purchase it by my favorite enabler, elaine and I haven't looked back.

I've got a "credit" coming with the machine so I'll set up my account when it shows up.

My Nesspresso is probably 15 years old. It only makes espresso based drinks. If I want a full cup of coffee, I need to use our drip pot (if its morning and DH is drinking, too) or our Kuerig.

I got the nespresso from Sams after staying at an air bnb that had one last winter. I love it! I use the Starbucks Blonde pods from Sams - 60 for $39 I think ? I do the pod, milk in the frother and add a scoop of vital proteins collagen for good measure. It is a lovely way to start the morning
