Our backyard gets way too much sun. I bought this little canopy thing off Amazon that bent under the weight of some rain last night.
So i'm looking for a better product. It'd be down in the yard on the grass. We'd just like to be able to sit out in some chairs without scorching in the sun. So looking for recommendations on what works best.

We just installed two sun sails, the triangle kind, in our backyard for the summer and I prefer them over a pergola. I like that we can move them around for different spots in the backyard and then take them down and store them easily when summer is over. We also have a couple of umbrellas in stands that we can move around as the sun moves throughout the day.

I don't understand a pergola. It's a stationary object providing slats of moving shade? How do you work your outdoor furniture placement around that? And, I'm willing to bet that anybody who's had to paint/stain all those pieces (it does eventually need maintenance, if it's made of wood) would never want another.

My back yard is super shady so I don’t have practical advice but I love the look of sun sails. If I had a pergola I’d probably grow climbing vines on it to make it seem more functional.

Our neighbors have 2 sails over their pool. Started with one last year and added an additional one because it worked so well.
