We can see and smell the smoke where we are and the air quality ranges from Unhealthy for Sensitive Populations to Unhealthy to Very Unhealthy. Anyone else dealing with this?

Yes, we’ve been dealing with it off and on for weeks now. Today it was supposed to be getting better but there was still a haze in the air this morning and it smelled like smoke. There were a couple days last week when it was so bad it smelled like strong campfire smoke outside everywhere we went. 🤮

When New York was so bad, we had some of this, but I think it is worse now

We've been experiencing it for a while but today is REALLY bad. We have air quality alerts around here. I only went outside for a little bit and now my eyes will not quit weeping.

It’s bad in Michigan. A week (2 weeks?) ago it smelled like a bonfire, today it smells like burning plastic.

Today is the first day that it’s been bad in my area of Southwestern Ontario. There was an air quality alert. The air was smoky and smelled like campfire.

Yes, we are in SE Michigan. My asthma has been acting up. Today, I had to cancel a summer trip to Ontario because we are afraid that the fires will affect our travels.

We’ve had hazy skies a good share of the summer. Some days smell smoky. I’m in northern MN.

Can barely see across the small field outside and it smells like a campfire often. Yeah, not good.

I’m in western Illinois. My friend and I went to the Des Moines Iowa area and then to Cedar Rapids and came home through Iowa City. Air quality alerts, "very unhealthy” ratings and a definite haze in the air everywhere. I coughed a fair amount on the return trip. Back home now and the rating here is also very unhealthy, and my eyes feel itchy.

Hazardous today and tomorrow south of me in my state. We’ve had unhealthy AQ up here in the northwoods since yesterday and it stinks, literally, which is unusual for our heavily forested area. Tomorrow it will be moderate.
I have been using airnow.gov obsessively.
I hate being inside during our brief summer. Stay safe everyone.
Edit: campfire with plastic bags in it.

We just finished moving my daughter into her apartment in Chicago today. (IKEA furniture assembly is not for the faint of heart LOL.)
We left Chicago around 6:00 and headed south on 65 toward Indianapolis. It was soooo bad! We were driving through windfarms and could barely see the windmills, even though they really aren’t far from the road.
Chicago was pretty hazy too. You couldn’t see the skyscrapers until you were right on top of the city.

I live in central Indiana and it's bad here. I've never seen it like this. We have moved into the Very Unhealthy range, too.

And it’s coming back to Western New York It's BAD here where I am this morning. Haze that isn't haze, smells like wood burning and it's hard to breathe. I have a feeling this is going to go on all summer. Pools are being effected too.

I have been watching Oconomowoc ( though not central WI) because a friend just moved there. They were in the hazardous category yesterday. Please take care of yourself. Edit to make Yers Yes

Iowa here, and it has been an issue for many weeks now.
It even affect our crop growth. A deficient in photosynthesis can affect stalk strength in corn. Weaker stalks is one of the worst things that can happen with corn.
The haze is quite thick here today, but I know it is worse on the east side of the state.

I'm in Ontario, Canada and it's bad here today.
I was suppose to go kayaking today but changed my plans. I had bronchitis about 6 weeks ago, that was followed by a dry cough and swollen glands. Just yesterday, my glands finally felt better. I don't want to go out and risk my health. I am healthy. I feel good but the bronchitis was recent. So I'm listening to an audiobook, cleaning and looking at recipes for dinner.

I live in northern Indiana and it's bad here. I have severe lung issues and have been staying inside except for taking the puppy out. When we came in this morning she smelled like she had been standing next to a smelly fire. Guess who's mad that she got a bath!

Outside of Chicago, smells like burning plastic and is making me sneeze. I can also see a layer of smoke sitting on top of the cornfield behind my house.

Southern Michigan. The haze is not as bad as it was yesterday but the AQI isn't getting better. Currently at 221 (unhealthy). I had to drive about 10 miles south of my house and the haze was worse there.
Coupled with a high heat index, it's not very nice out. Several outdoor events have been cancelled or postponed yesterday and today.

Ohio here - it's so hazy and smells bad. DH who NEVER opens the windows and always runs the AC decided today was the day to open them. It smells so bad in our house now. My cat who mainly stays outside during the day even came in.

I am in the Mediterranean on a cruise and the smoke is here. It was very heavy in Cannes yesterday and tonight we are in Mallorca and it’s visible. No smoky smell though.
I’m used to smoky summers in BC but I’ve never seen forest fire smoke in Europe although some areas are also prone to summer fires.

Northern Virginia right next door to DC....We just got an air quality alert for tomorrow and Friday. Since that last round of bad air several weeks ago I haven't been paying attention to our air quality. I keep tabs on the fires but our air has been good so I didn't think it was coming back. I was wrong about that.

St. Louis area, today was the worst it’s been. We’ve been under air quality alerts for weeks now, today was the first time it smelled like a campfire. I tried sitting o my front porch this morning because it was actually decent out with a nice breeze. Didn’t make it long before my sinuses went haywire.
Tomorrow is supposed to be better, but we’ll be under a heat alert and air quality alert. Crazy summer this year for sure
