Hey, We had a long thread about the terrible service Air Canada gave to a few Peas ... I feel for you! I just wanted to pop on here and say that I had a couple of great experiences this week ... I did fly domestically as I am Canadian ... that probably makes a difference! I flew from Calgary to Ottawa with absolutely no problem ... everything was on time and the service was excellent! My flight from Ottawa back to Calgary was delayed 30 minutes but was still great ... I can't really complain! I wonder if flying internationally, with connections, my experiences would have been different ... Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there!

I wonder if flying internationally, with connections, my experiences would have been different ... Probably. The first of the week Air Canada cancelled DD's flights to Toronto and Montreal for business events and couldn't rebook them until today. It was too late so the trip was cancelled. The people flying from EWR also had their flights cancelled. One person ended up driving from Long Island to Montreal so that they would have at least 1 representative at the event. They have had issues with Air Canada before for this annual event. Glad that you had a successful experience with them!

our travel agent friend doesn't reccommend their clients use Air Canada (it would be international travel for them)

I fly mainly WestJet but have never had any real problem with AC. And their long haul service/Europe is really good IME. I guess every person who travels has had a bad experience at one time or another. It’s super unpleasant and inconvenient but that’s travel. 🤷♀️

We all flew ac to South America (kids) and Dad and I to Mexico and we had a great experience. I am sad to hear how bad their service has become. They have been pretty reliable to me

My husband travels a ton for work and flies almost exclusively Air Canada. It’s the least problematic option for him!

My BIL uses them almost exclusively and swears by them, both within Canada and into/out of the US.

I use them when I visit Ottawa I use AC. The only problems I have had in 20 years were weather related (not AC's fault) and then 1 flight at the end of the pandemic. I booked a flight the week after crossing into Canada was possible. There were delays with every airline at every terminal that trip. I had to use United as a partner airline and they had delays also.
Over the years, 2 times our luggage didn't make it to the final stop with us. We knew it would not because we connected in Chicago with only 10 minutes to board that flight and come home. AC delivered the luggage within 8 hours.
