I just purchased these to organize the mess in my silverware drawer. This home has half the drawers that my last kitchen had so I need to organize the limited space carefully. I found these two items that I thought might help and I have to say, I really like them, especially the knife organizer. A few people complained that when you put your flatware into the holder, it covers up the little raised icon showing what is on that spot and they get confused as to where their spoons and forks are located. That baffles me. The silverware holder comes in two sizes and I ordered the larger one. It only took me a day to get used to where things were located. I mean, you only have three items - knives, forks, and spoons, and I don’t know about other people, but I am in my silverware drawer multiple times a day so I got the hang of it very quickly - spoons, then forks, then knives, and small spoons, if you have them. Easy. I read one review where the person didn’t have enough space in her drawers so she hung them inside a cabinet using two screws and was really happy with that. By buying both the knife and silverware holders, it gave me enough room in the center of the drawer for some frequently used items. I like the knife organizer because all the sharp blades are always facing down inside the holder. knife organizer: www.amazon.com/dp/B0721TPPZY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailssilverware organizer, large version: www.amazon.com/dp/B07YLFRHNN?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I have those in my drawer too.. the silverware doesn't work perfectly for me cause I can't pull the drawer out all the way, and I try to put too much in it..but better than other solutions.

I don't think I'd like that utensil organizer since you can't see at a glance which is a fork or a spoon, etc. but glad you found something that works for you. When we built our house I added in custom organizers in several drawers. My kitchen designer said to do them right away or I'd never do them later. I am really glad I listened to her!

have a wood holder for my knives like this. I love it. I used to have a wood block too. But over the years, I’ve picked up a few more knives and they would not fit the block. One of my very favorite knives is one that my father had. The handle started to break so Dad fixed it. Having his handiwork of repairing the handle is what I truly value about it. That, and my Mom brought it to me after a visit with my younger sister, which is where the majority of Mom and Dad’s things were. I so appreciated that Mom knew I would want that knife because Dad had fixed it so she surprised me with it. I really prefer the knives in a drawer instead of on the countertop.

In my wood knife holder in the drawer is a knife that is (I believe carbon steel) used by my paternal grandmother and definitely by my mother.

I had that silverware organizer several years ago. I think I found that it took up more space than expected. I know we went back to the old-fashioned type of plastic organizer

I have something similar for my knives made of wood. I would not like that silverware one at all. If they made it out of clear plastic on top so you could see it might work. DH has enough trouble not putting the salad forks on top of the dinner forks as it is.

I have the large silverware one. I actually bought two.
One is in the drawer of the hutch next to the table and it holds knives, dinner forks and teaspoons.
The other is in a drawer under a counter and it holds salad forks, tablespoons, serving spoons, and steaknives.
It really does save space and it is very easy to get the hang of what goes where. If something is put in the wrong slot it really doesn't matter because the slots are all the same size and it is pretty easy, at least for me, to tell which piece is what by the shape/size of the handle.

I’ve seen those silverware organizers, but it doesn’t hold enough pieces (I don’t run the dishwasher that often, and didn’t even when my husband was alive). My silverware has two sizes of forks and spoons, plus the knives and a couple of other pieces. I also have a lot of pieces so I have plenty of each and don’t run out quickly. It seems there are times when I go through silverware more quickly than plates, bowls, or even glasses. I’m not going to run the dishwasher just for silverware so I like having extras.

I have both a silverware and knife holder. I think I have a smaller silverware holder. I love them! It really doesn't take long to remember what goes where.

It’s just the two of us but I don’t want to waste water and it takes forever to fill the dishwasher. We also have soup spoons as well as some basic serving utensils so not only would everything not fit, I wouldn’t want to have to keep all the compartments in order in my head. And no way would DH do that, things would be all crazy in there and pulling something out would be getting a surprise utensil every time!
