Since my internet is down due to some upgrades, I have been using my phone. I can now appreciate how much I love my internet. Have you ever been required to use your phone instead of your internet? I realized this is a first world problem. I am sure some of you also use your phone.
I also get my cable by streaming through the internet. Wah, wah , please don’t tell me I might be inconvenienced again. 🤬
Just kidding . Sort of. 😫

Not at home, but when I'm away from home, I connect my laptop to the internet via the personal hotspot on my iPhone instead of airport/hotel wifi. It works fine, actually, as long as you have plan that doesn't limit hotspot usage.
I hope your internet is restored soon. I work from home, so internet outages aren't a first world problem for me - they're a real problem! Thankfully, I can't remember the last time I had one.

i remember when we transitioned from dial up to high speed (for back then) internet connection. the connection would go down far more than it does these days and when it went down, it could be a multitude of things. one time, it went out and DH was out of town on business. i found myself searching for a super long phone cable so i could crawl under our desks in search of a phone jack. then it was dial up until DH came home to diagnose if the modem/router was bad or if we had to have someone come out. ahhh, the gold old days....

AT&T is laying fiber in our neighborhood, and they cut their own DSL lines last week. It took them 2 full days to find and fix the problem. The first day, I muddled along with my phone, but the second day, I used my phone as a hotspot to work as normally as possible.

The day we put our house up for sale and our internet provider got wind of it, our internet connection goes down several times every day. Luckily we’re just about done here because it’s been maddening.

It’s not fun. During Covid our cable/internet/phone box in the garage died and they couldn’t come out for two weeks. We then went to the competition as my husband was working from home snd my son was starting school the next week. We had to wait for them to come out and it was 5 days I think. It was a long wait.
I hope you get your Internet back soon.

In July 2020, "someone" was doing work and cut our Spectrum Cable line. No internet and no tv (for those in our area who had it) for over 2 weeks. They couldn't figure out the problem at first and it took me days to get it diagnosed. DH was already working from home, so he learned how to use his phone as a hotspot since going into the office was not an option.
It was definitely not fun. I wish you a speedy internet recovery & upgrade!

I almost exclusively use my phone, but on wifi. I only use my laptop if I have to do something for work.
So, not a particular hardship for me.

We had that issue three weeks ago for ten hours. The horrors! It also knocked out my wi-fi booster for cell service. I just finally got that back up and running today.

We just moved and I can’t even begin to tell you what a clusterf#ck Comcast has been. So we currently have no internet. Haven’t for days. We were going to stream through YouTube, so of course, no tv for us. Can on get cell reception in choice places in the new house and usually only early evening or late at night. So I totally understand.

We lost internet at our office last week. After a bad storm. It was a newsletter week and payroll. We couldn't get to the network for the first 2 days. That bothered me on the newsletter. Finally figured a crude workaround on that and I was a happier girl But our phones are VOI and most of what I use is cloud based. So no working on that. I hand wrote the payroll. Just after getting those done, we got internet back so I ran dummy checks for the info breakdown. So Thursday we got it back.
I feel you and it didn't feel like a first world problem to us.

Luckily we’re just about done here because it’s been maddening. why would your internet provider care that you put your house on the market? So they can service us at our next residence. They’ve reached out via two different formats to say as much. We’ve only just this week to canceled our service. They started contacting us three weeks ago about our upcoming move, which we’ve ignored.

There are certain things I absolutely loathe to do on my phone vs. using my computer/internet. They just don't translate well to the small mobile screen. We're rarely without internet, but the few times we have been it's definitely been frustrating. And yeah, first world problem, lol, but when you're used to a convenience it's still a problem.

Our WiFi isn’t working today and it’s a pain. I think the router died.
