Hi!
I'm planning a few wardrobe upgrades to reflect my new job as a teacher. I am looking for cute shoes that are also comfortable! Any recommendations?
Thanks! Merilee

I have had these Nike slip ins for 2 years and love them. I typically wear 9w or 9.5w and the regular 9.5 fit me great. I have worn them on vacation as well Nike Women's Court Royale Ac SLP Sneaker a.co/d/6iZ3ghjThese little flats are the best-I think I bought a 9w in a snakeskin print but that seems it may be out of stock Naturalizer Women's, Flexy Flat a.co/d/aYbpLTpI also have these in both a gold and a time in tone animal print pattern Clarks Women's Sharon Dolly Loafer a.co/d/ifpFeYe

I am on my feet a lot (I teach MS home Ec). Hoka Bondi athletic shoes save my feet. A pair last me a year. They come in fun colors. I also have worn Dansko shoes (mainly sandals) for the majority of my career. I thought all teacher’s feet hurt until I went to the doctor and found out I tore the fascia on the bottom of my feet (apparently I had plantar fasciitis and thought it was just teaching feet). Invest in good shoes!! I rotate my Dansko shoes and they last awhile. If you haven’t been fitted, I would go to a store that sells walking/hiking shoes to try them on and see what works best with your feet.

If you must have professional looking shoes, Clarks and Vionics are good comfort shoes (beware of the heel, though - anything with a high heel will be comfortable relative to other heels, but not necessarily what you want to teach in all day).
For myself, I’ve gotten to the point where I embrace the sneakers with everything trend. If I can’t wear the outfit with sneakers or Birkenstocks, it probably doesn’t get worn to school. I wear my Hokas if possible, but otherwise I like simple sneakers with good support like Taos. They look super cute with dresses IMO.

I wear casual sneakers with almost everything - mainly Keds with some Sperrys thrown in the mix. I have many pairs - solids in some versatile colors and lots of prints. They look cute with dresses in the fall and spring. In the winter I mainly wore pants so I could continue to wear sneakers. My former teaching partner and I had a bit of a sneaker addiction and people would comment on it.

I wear Allbirds, Danskos, Clarks and Birkenstock sandals when weather permits. I’ve had both knees replaced in the last few years and need something supportive. I’m also not on my feet all day like gen ed teachers. I’m a special educator so I sit a lot and only teach one class.
