My daughter has to do a rotation for grad school and she will need a place to stay for 3 months. We have tried looking for extended stay hotels / air bnbs but having never done this before, I am having trouble. Any tips for those who have done this before? She does have 2 cats that she would like to take with her if possible.
Any advice on searching? Martinsburg WV area.

We have friends who did a three month stay at an AirBnb. They found an AirBnB in a city they liked, then contacted the owner to see about an extended stay at a reduced rate. The owner agreed and they signed a contract for a 3 month stay for 50%(ish) percent off the original listing price. The owners were thrilled to have renters for 3 months and our friends were happy they didn't have to bounce around when they were in one city for an extended period. Maybe something like that will work for your daughter. Good luck to her.

In Airbnb you can select for monthly and longer term stays. Usually they auto apply the monthly discount.
If you have Craigslist there is a “sublet” category that is useful.

Furnished Finder is geared to 3 month stays and caters to professionals (traveling nurses, internships). Airbnbs will often consider 3 month stays at a discount only in the "off season," if there is one for that area.

Airbnb will generally be super expensive, even with discounts. Even if the host has reasonable prices, they can’t do anything about Airbnb’s % fees they take on the top. If you do find an Airbnb you like, chances are, they’ve already incorporated monthly discounts into the pricing. Some hosts may be willing to take more off, but some won’t, esp if you’re looking during high season. You can ask via an Inquiry.

Thanks everyone! We did look at furnished finder and air bnb and they are pretty expensive. The problem is, she said she needed to renew her lease on her apt. at school because she may have rotations in the area. But that was in May. She just got her rotations and no more are in her area, so she will have to pay two rents from Aug. through next May.
So she will have to figure something out, she may just have to spend more money that she planned. They had campsites, but she had no interest in that, haha! She may just have to not take her pets (family could keep her cats) or agree to share a room in a house. I wish there were "realtors" that you could hire to help you find places, as we are having trouble (and it's probably just being inexperienced with this type of thing).

Some real estate agents help with such things. If she is going to be at a hospital, it may be that the hospital can give her some names. Our GD will have a rotation in Brooklyn and someone from her school connected her to an apartment that rents to the residents who are rotating through.

I did suggest my daughter reach out to former students and the school to see if they have any recommendatons. The school has not been helpful at all, so it's frustrating. My middle daughter's university was great for nursing student rotations, they were all local.
