We currently have a 3-in-one and it works fine but is several years old and in an inconvenient location for me in the home. Looking to get a second one to be used by myself and the kids. Looking for up-to-date recommendations for a printer/ color copier/scanner. Will definitely be printing more than anything else with it.

Epson EcoTankI bought one during the lockdowns and have been pleased with it. The black ink lasted over a year before I had to add more. The color inks are still the original, about half used. The quality is good for what I use it for.

Jumping on the Epson EcoTank train. Just bought an Epson ET-2850 from Costco. Installed and it's working beautifully. It even prints from my iPhone and my work laptop (which does not usually like printers other than ones connected at work). I am currently thrilled!

If you are not printing photos, look at an HP Laserjet. We replaced an old inkjet printer with it, and I love it. It prints fast, and although the initial purchase price for toner cartridges are expensive, they last a really long time!. Ours is color with a built in scanner. I have seen them at Costco. We do have a separate photo printer, so I did not need a printer for photos. The Laserjet will print out decent photos though. And if you do crafts/art where you need a print with ink that doesn't run, it is perfect. It works great for photo transfers.

Another vote for the Epson EcoTank. I have the ET-4760, which is more printer than I needed, but was all that was available in the shortage in fall of 2020. I use it for my husband's home office needs, and about a year of homeschooling stuff when we first got it. I have only had to buy black ink once in the 3 years that I have had it. Original color inks are down to about 1/3 full.

I’ll be the dissenter and say I’m NEVER buying another Epson as long as I live. Every single one I’ve ever had has ended up giving me nothing but problems and typically at the worst possible time. I think I’ve had a half dozen of them over the years and every one ended up sucking.
My current printer is an HP Laserjet (copier/printer/scanner) and I love it. It works wirelessly to print from all of our phones, iPads and laptops, the ink lasts a long time and I never have to clean print heads or have poor quality prints with lines through or ink streaks. I purposely bought a printer with XL ink tanks that Costco sells the refills for because they have the best prices on it.
If I was planning to use it for photos I would look at getting a Canon Pixma. I haven’t ever owned one but everyone I know who has one has always given them great reviews. I have a Canon Selphy for printing 4x6 photos and that too works great but it’s only a photo printer and not for documents.

crazy4scraps I agree with your post. I’ve owned an Epson, reluctant to buy another. My photo printer is a Canon Pixma Pro-100. Love that printer. Got it on sale a few years ago for only $150. It was a Black Friday deal and I jumped on that baby.

It was a Black Friday deal and I jumped on that baby. Canons are nice especially if you’re going to print photos. ❤️ Since I already had the Selphy for photos, I ended up getting the HP because we mostly use that printer for basic documents and I specifically wanted a printer that Costco carries the ink refills for. I wanted a sublimation printer for Christmas last year and the dedicated ones are spendy. A lot of people on the Facebook sublimation groups I’m in get a cheap Epson eco tank and convert it, and lots of those same people go on to complain about issues with the print heads clogging, or streaky prints or taking forever to tweak the color profiles to get the colors to print right. I wasn’t going to go there again, I’ve had all those same issues even when I was using name brand Epson inks. I decided to go with Sawgrass even though it was twice as much money up front and I haven’t regretted that decision for one single second. Perfect prints straight out of the gate and no performance issues at all. If my choice is Epson or something else, I’m picking something else every single time.

I have a Canon Pixma...I liked it enough (at its price point) to replace with the same model when mine reached the end of its life BUT the original only lasted 4 years so there is that.

I have a Canon PIXMA (TS 5020). It is several (4+) years old. I use generic ink and have never had an issue with it. It uses wifi and I print from my phone and laptop. I don't print photos. I do print a lot as the PTA Treasurer and President where I was too lazy to make copies for meetings sometimes. It has worked really well for me and I like that it takes thicker paper (cardstock) and lable paper with no issues like my last printer (an Epson I think). I had a really frustrating issue with an HP printer many years ago so I avoided them.
I also like that it is white and folds up nicely when not in use as I have it in my mini office in my dining room.

It was important for me to have a printer that enabled printing with card stock (kid's Valentines, teacher's presents, etc.). If this is important to you, look for the option for thicker card stock printing. I have a Canon TS 6300 series and use a back loading tray for card stock. I use no name brand ink that is cheaper than Canon's and performs properly.

Also have the Epson eco tank. I replaced an HP that I could never find ink cartridges, especially photo black.
