I know many take solo vacations. Have you visited a theme park on your own? Would that be weird or wonderful?

I've never done a theme park on my own, but a friend of mine makes a solo trip to WDW twice a year. She just loves WDW and not many of her friends can afford to go as often as she'd like (she gets an annual pass), so she goes alone - she has a blast. I don't see it any different from any other solo vacation.

Yes a few times but it wasn't a "trip". We live 20 min from DLR and I've had a pass on and off. At least once each time I've gone by myself for a morning/afternoon while my kids were in school.

Kind of. I was meeting someone at DL and they couldn’t be there until the afternoon. So I was at the park from 8-2 by myself. It was still fun. I know someone who goes all the time by herself. She is a big Disney fan, so she goes even if her SO or son can’t go.

I’m going to have a few days alone at DLP this fall before meeting others. I couldn’t be more excited to take my time, see and do what I want without complaining teens lol. I’ve made a few dinner reservations so far, need to get to a rough outline of plans but I’m looking forward to going with my flow.

I went to Dollywood alone. It was great! I could ride whatever I wanted, as many times in a row as I wanted.

I would love to do this for either Disney park if they weren't so expensive. I'm the only one in the family who has an interest in seeing the parks but the cost would have DH going uh no.
Now, money no object? sign me up.

I’d be more likely to do it at a Disney park than anywhere else. We’re going down next week for a last minute trip and I may spend a little time alone, we’ll see. Our last trip I wandered off on my own on occasion as well. I can only speak for wdw but I felt safe using the transportation and walking around solo. Living in the rural Midwest I don’t have experience using Uber and such and the idea of doing it alone makes me a little nervous.

I love Disneyland but would not have fun on my own.

I have not - but I would totally do Disney all by myself. All the parades & fireworks, all the shows my family doesn't want to sit through - I could do them all on my own. The rides I prefer, over and over lol.

I went to Copenhagen solo last summer and went to Tivoli Gardens by myself. I had a blast. I ate lunch when I wanted at a nice sit-down restaurant rather than trying to negotiate with other people about when to take a break, and I rode exactly what I wanted and skipped things I didn't want to ride. Heartily endorse!

When I lived in Tampa, frequently had a season pass to Disney or a couple of years it was Universal. I went by myself more than a few times and I had a great time.

I didn't make a trip to just go to a theme park but I had a conference near Disneyland and had a pass with parking included so I went to Disneyland one night to get dinner and walk around a bit. I think it is fun to walk around but I wouldn't want to do a whole trip like that by myself. I am sure there are people that would love to do that though.

If I ever go again it will have to be solo unless I go with a friend which is highly unlikely. The last time I went with my family they were complete funsuckers so if I find myself in a position to go alone I will absolutely take it. They got up late, dragged their butts to the bus, complained and whined all.freaking.day. If I was going alone I’d be at the front of the line right at rope drop and wouldn’t leave until the last bus was heading back to the resort. And I’d go on every roller coaster and spinning ride as many times as I could.

When Astroworld was still around I went solo once and really enjoyed myself quite a bit. I took a paperback book to read in line but ended up leaving it somewhere or giving it away. Everyone was so friendly and talkative I ended up not having much opportunity/desire to read. And as everyone else says, you do what you want when you want. Highly recommend.

Yes. I live in Hawaii. I've travelled twice to WDW on my own. Stayed onsite and did the parks on my own. I loved it. Go where I want, when I want and not having to wait on anyone. I was in my late 60s early 70s. I highly recommend it.

I hate amusement parks so no, I would never go to one alone. lol. If I actually did go to one it would be because there was some really really good reason. And I can't think of what that would be, so...no. Lol... but, if I did like them then yeah I'd go alone, because I love traveling by myself.

A few years ago, I bought a 14-day ticket to WDW and had one of the best holidays ever. I spent basically every day in one or more of the four main parks. Rest days were spent in either of the water parks. My ticket also included a round of mini-golf every day, and that was the only time I wished I was with someone. Because I got several holes-in-one, and I knew no one would believe me because there were no witnesses. 😄 I loved being able to suit myself - I could ride Expedition Everest five times in a row, and nobody complained. And I could eat whatever and wherever I wanted - bliss!

My bff has been in a roller coaster club for decades and often to goes to theme parks alone just ride the roller coasters. He will ride a good coaster over and over, again if the lines aren't punishing. If you enjoy it, why not go whenever you want?

I could totally do a couple days at Disneyland by myself! Several years ago DH had a conference in Anaheim and I tagged along and went to Disneyland by myself one of the days. Loved it!

I live 20 minutes from Kings Island and I get the annual pass. I go frequently by myself. I don't have a problem going there solo, but I am hesitant to go on a solo vacation.

I attended a conference in Orlando and we had several days where we were out by 2ish. My travel mate wanted to go to malls. I was not into that as most malls seem to be similar in all states! So I took off and went to Universal Studios by myself and had a real nice time. No wasting time on what "we" were doing next. lol

For me, the only thing worse than going to a theme park would be voluntarily going alone.

Visiting a theme park would be one of the few travel experiences I don't think I would particularly enjoy doing solo.
I think I'd probably enjoy a one day of walking around Disney and people watching and seeing things that the family would be in too big of a rush to enjoy. However, I don't think I'd enjoy more than one day of that. I don't think it would be much fun riding the rides alone or sitting in a themed restaurant by myself.
I do think Disney would be a really easy travel experience for a solo traveller. It's safe and transportation to and from the parks is so easy, especially if you are staying onsite. You wouldn't need to rent a car or even leave the Disney property for the duration of your stay.

I haven't yet, but I'm about to go down to Disneyworld after my sis and niece are already there, so after checking my bag at the resort, I'll be heading to Epcot where they'll meet me after their day at Hollywood Studios. It'll just be a few hours alone, but this way I can frontload on some of the stuff I know I love and won't have to defer to their tastes. LOL

My kid hated it and DH refused to go when our FastPass time came up, so we switched wristbands and I went again by myself! I wish we could have gone on Avatar twice but the standby line was three hours long. 😳 Who would wait three hours in a line to go on one ride?

I've been to Disney and Universal alone. In each case, I was there for different reasons - conferences, meetings, or the marching band - so I went in a few days early to do my own thing. I am able to go at my own pace and do exactly what I want to do. The single rider lines are great! I also planned "experiences" when I could - tours, for instance, that let me just relax and see something different.

Of course, that is why I like solo travel--getting to do exactly what I want--but he is right, with travel generally, you might need to negotiate a few things about plans for the day, but with theme parks, it's like every 30 minutes.

It's wonderful! I did Universal Studios alone while on a business trip to LA.
I also did a day at WDW while tagging along on DH'S business trip to Orlando.
