Hi everyone! I have no plans today ... like most days! I'm always so burnt out during the school year so it's nice to just relax during the summer It is going to be about 30 degrees Celsius here today ... I will stay inside! Oh, I just remembered ... my girlfriend hurt her foot and I might need to take her to a doctor ... we'll see ... This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I could have decorated my condo in all pink because it is my fav colour but I held back! Dinner tonight will probably be spent with my "friend". . No idea what we will have ... How is your kitty jeremysgirl? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Plans are to get my hair done and then go to the funeral of my friend.
There will be a reception after the funeral and plenty of food to eat. Don't think that I will be really hungry after this emotional day.
Enjoy the weekend, dinner tribe!

Just got back from an early 2 mile walk. I'm melting. Dinner might be Chicken Lombardy even though it means turning the oven on for 7 minutes. Going to the baby shower at noon.

My kitty took the medicine a bit easier this morning than she did yesterday. And even though I thought she had spit most of it out yesterday it seems like some got in and it firmed things up a bit. I also contacted the vet this morning and her fecal sample showed nothing. So basically I'm banking all my hope on that blood test coming back abnormal. I just gave her all the pets last night and this morning.
I'm having a slow morning. I ended up in bed at 9 last night and I slept until 8 am. Must have been super tired. I was up at 4 yesterday, so... I'm cleaning up the kitchen right now. I didn't do it last night because I was so tired. And I'm hanging out in my jammies putting off my shower until Jeremy gets back from the grocery store with some paper towels so I can clean my dining room floor well. Cat mess has got me like....silent scream. I ran out of paper towels yesterday as I don't tend to keep them on serious stock but since this cats issues I've been going through them like crazy.
And apparently they screwed up the paperwork for our camper so they resent paperwork again this week. We signed everything this morning and Jeremys running it over to the dealership.
We did end up having that chicken and pasta finally last night. It was pretty good. I know I haven't said much lately but I've been doing pretty well with these dietary changes. I finally weighed myself on Wednesday and I was down three pounds. I'm trying not to put pressure on myself so I hadn't weighed in a month. This whole adventure really was less about weight and more about just taking better care of myself. Learning that food doesn't have to be sexy is a pretty big thing. I've gotten to the point where I don't feel like I have to make a gourmet meal every night. I can just eat some yogurt or a sandwich or maybe even some scrambled eggs. This is difficult lesson for someone who likes to eat and cook. But it actually kind of freeing too.
I got some frozen beef ravioli at the farmers market last week. Jeremy really wants it for dinner. He loves it. So that's what we will have today. Quick and easy. I honestly had 7 things on my grocery list this morning for the regular store. I told him tomorrow we will go back to the farmers market and get the rest of our groceries. I don't mind shopping there either.
Once I get everything cleaned up today and take a shower, I'm going to work on quilting my Halloween quilt.

I know music pretty well cadoodlebug. I'm even a big rock n roll nerd who can kick some ass at rock trivia. And I have no idea who the band is in your meme??

Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, John Voight. It was a joke meme because there was a banjo scene from some backwards hillbillies in the movie. It was a very harrowing movie for it's time.

I don't know tv or movies cadoodlebug. Music is huge in my life. But I often don't get pop culture references when they concern tv or movies.

It was a very disturbing movie. Though a very good one. That theme is stuck in my head. leannec , have fun today. I hope that your friend's foot is OK. quiltz , be very gentle w/yourself today. May your friend's memory be for a blessing to all who knew her. I'm thinking healthy kitty thoughts for your kitty, jeremysgirl . I'm just exhausted. I know a long nap is in my future. Apart from that I have no idea what today will bring. Dinner is rechauffe. Enjoy today, my tribe.

I'm sorry your day is going to be dominated by a funeral quiltz. And yes scrapmaven if you need to rest, rest. Truth be told, our weather is supposed to not top 80 today which is super nice so I might just leave the quilt for tomorrow and sit outside reading today.

jeremysgirl - I am glad your kitty is showing some signs of improvement. Hopefully the bloodwork will provide some answers. We also had a late start this morning - neither of us woke until just before 8am. After breakfast, we went grocery shopping. While at the supermarket, my phone rang - it was Sophia, just wanting to say hi and let us know that the Anna (from Frozen) costume is now too small, just in case Farfar is going to Disneyland anytime soon! Lucia also popped into the chat for a bit. She still doesn’t say much, but she was smiling and waving and definitely recognises us now. I have spent most of the time since then knitting, trying to get my top finished before leaving in less than a week for vacation. I am now almost halfway done with the front, back is finished, so I think I’m on track. I am taking a break now until at least after dinner, as it is cotton, so hard on my hands to knit with. Dinner tonight is chicken Caesar salad. DH is on dinner duty all week, as he’s on leave. It is also his job to manage thwart we have in the fridge and what we buy, so we don’t have too much to throw out next Friday evening!

sueg , Your granddaughters are such adorable girls. Little Sophia is quite clever. Just in case you happen to land in California, on your way to the store could you please pick up a new costume? That made me smile.

Today has been a lazy day. I've been trying to contact the mgr. from the Texas store for the past 4 days to see about a transfer. It's been crazy how the phone keeps ringing with no answer and have been disconnected twice. Called earlier today and was told to try back at 1. Keeping fingers crossed that I can speak to someone today.
For dinner we are having pork chops with rice and beans.

That made me smile. Her original one is from Disneyland Paris, and DH is in Paris fairly regularly, so it is not completely out of the question.

Hi today is going to be more of a rest day for me. The Open is on and it’s live and very exciting. I will plan to cook vegetables with chicken salad for dinner. I don’t want to go to the mall. Maybe BFF will come over and we can try my new makeup.
I got up at 8 am because I had FOMO and what exactly was exciting at that hour? I made myself get up so I won’t have trouble sleeping tonight.
It’s warm outside but is only going up to 26°C so I can live with that.

quiltz - I'm sorry to hear about your friend cadoodlebug - I was looking at the meme & I recognized Burt Reynolds & Jon Voight right away & I was wracking my brain trying to think if they had ever formed a band I don't think I've ever seen Deliverance though leannec - I think pink is one of my least favourite of all the colours, I usually try to avoid it. But funny enough I usually choose pink nail polish for my fingers & toes! Right now my fingers are actually rocking a bright Barbie pink with white daisies on the ring fingers LOL sueg - your grandaughters are so cute! I don't think I've ever heard the story of how you ended up in Germany. You're originally from Australia correct? I assume it was for your dh's work? Germany is a gorgeous country although I've really only been to the Bavaria area. My german is pitiful though LOL In university I dated a german guy & his parents took us on holiday to Munich & Salzburg. But all the people they wanted to visit only spoke german and I spoke none. It's a hard language! I was still super grateful for the trip though Spent the morning cleaning the trailer, only half done. Unfortunately we had a couple rodents in there so that's been fun to clean. Today we are heading to our friends for a bbq with our group. I've known them all since high school but we don't all get together that often, usually only a handful of times a year. Christmas dinner and summer bbq for sure. My contribution is a caesar salad

Today is a do nothing day. DH and I have been chilling on the deck the whole day. Feeling a tad bit lazy but that’s what weekends are for. Right?? Although being retired, every day is the weekend! leannec: My in-laws built a cottage years ago and my MIL decorated the entire cottage in pink. And I mean everything was pink - the walls, the carpet, picture frames, etc. And it was every room including the bathrooms. It was nauseating! Supper tonight is chicken wraps with leftover chicken from last night.

At least I am single so there is no one else to give feedback I would never do it though ... even I know it's a bad idea!

It's 9:30am Sunday morning here, and I am still in bed. I have no idea how I am going to get back into the swing of things with work tomorrow, after three weeks off. I find it hard enough going back to work after one week, let alone three. Ugh. We went out for dinner to a Lebanese restaurant, for a friend's 50th birthday. Luckily my tummy bug appears to have gone. I ate way too much food, and even brought some nut rice and lamb home. Darcy Collins I was thinking about you the other day. We were in Singapore, and we went to a water park for the day. Each of us took a backpack (mine was my big carry-on backpack I use for the plane), with our towels, a change of clothes, hats, sunscreen, phones, waterproof camera, portable charger etc. As I was packing it all in, I wondered again how the heck you can pack for a whole overseas trip with just 7kg of carry on luggage, when I could barely fit what I needed for just one day in there! ETA: leannec the restaurant I went to was in a shopping centre, up the top near the cinemas. We saw so many people, men and women, walking past dressed in pink, on their way to the Barbie movie!

It's a talent! It's all about being strategic about shoes (I just went to NY and packed as much for 4 days as I have for 2 weeks as I splurged on shoe space). And I also am a total minimalist with makeup/toiletries. I don't wear much makeup anyway so a small bag of foundation and lipstick with a tiny conditioner is all I take. A few times we've had to find a pharmacy/store as the place we rented didn't have sufficient shampoo/conditioner, but to me that's just part of the adventure. Hope you enjoyed Singapore!

I don't wear much makeup anyway so a small bag of foundation and lipstick The only shoes I took was a pair of hiking sandals, that I wore on the plane, and a pair of thongs (flip flops). I didn't take one single item of make-up. I did, however, take a full bottle of shampoo and conditioner, because I knew we would be swimming in the pool (chlorine) and beach (salt water) every day, so I would need something better than the dodgy conditioner you get in hotels. I also took three tubes of sunscreen, because I am paranoid about getting sunburned after all the skin cancers I've had cut out over the last couple of years. Two were full sized 110ml tubes, and the other was a small pocket sized tube. I stupidly left one big tube in my carry-on when we went from Bangkok to Koh Samui, and because it was bigger than 100ml, they confiscated it. Then even more stupidly, I left the other one in my carry-on when we went from Koh Samui to Singapore! They confiscated that one as well! I am such a twit. So I had to buy more in Singapore.

I have plenty of pink in my wardrobe, although none of my dresses are all pink. I think you need to go out and buy a new pink dress for the occasion.

Jackie Gleason and Richard Pryor were the name stars but Ned would eat with us extras so we loved him. Richard Pryor was approachable and was a delight. Jackie Gleason acted like an ass. And it was a terrible movie!!
