What types of food do you take with you when you are going out on a boat for the day?
We have a cooler/ice so that isn't an issue.

I'd likely take finger food - charcuterie type stuff, cut up fruits and veggies, cracker mix, etc.

Sandwiches or wraps, fruits and veggies that can be eaten raw or with dip, snacks. I find that I don't want as much food when I am out in the sun, so I'm likely to eating a little here and there rather than a big meal.

We take crackers, charcuterie stuff, pre-washed grapes and strawberries. We try not to take anything that must be kept extremely cold (like mayo based stuff) even though we have a good ice chest.

Hawáiian bun ham and cheese sandwiches are always easy to make and can keep them in the bag and tray they come in.
Otherwise charcuterie stuff, chips and salsa.

Grew up boating and to me the best thing to eat out on the boat is cold fried chicken and thick watermelon slices. Must have canned soda too, especially cokes sitting in the ice.

We dont go out on boats often despite living in ammn area where every second or third person has one. A lot of people just go get a bucket of chicken the night before and chill it, then pack chips and fruit to go with it. Others pack snacks for the boat and then grill on the dock when they get back.

Tortellini pasta salad made the night before so it's really cold. I use a Tupperware container so it's waterproof in the cooler.
We use: cooked tortellini (usually Costco's), rings of sweet peppers, diced red onion, halved grape tomatoes, lots of chopped fresh basil and mini pepperonis. Then lots of Olive Garden Italian dressing (add more the next morning if it mostly was absorbed).

We usually don’t stay out on our boat all day so at most we just bring snacks like chips, pretzels, popcorn etc. plus bottled water.

Nowadays it’s usually a charcuterie board and wine, but growing up and into much of adulthood it was good sub sandwiches (not subway). From Hoagies Corner or Gilly’s (for my Seattle peeps!) or as those shops went away someone would make them. I don’t know how that got started because there are certainly easier foods to eat on a boat.

Thanks everyone!
I think the smaller the better too. So cut up stuff is what I have to keep in the house.
It sounds like it will be a one night thing to chop for the week.

Like others have said...cut up veggies, fruit, charcuterie, chips and dip. Crackers and cheese. Also. Chicken salad (chicken, apples, craisins, celery, pecans) on croissants. Get them very cold before we leave, put them deep in the ice, and then eat them first if it's very hot due to the mayo.

We do cheese, meat, crackers, dips/spreads, fruit, chips etc.
What we do not do is leave it up to others without discussing their plan. Made that mistake once. We rented a pontoon boat on vacation with our friends. It was four adults, their two teenagers and our one teenager. They said they would bring all the food (we had paid for the boat). They brought a bag of Doritos, a bag of tortilla chips, a box of rice krispy treats and some fruit gummys.
This was an all day affair. My family was SO hungry and cranky by the end of the day. We've now learned that they are snackers (and the adults drinkers) who are fine with small snacks/sugary treats etc for lunch.
