14C/57F here right now and it's beautiful! Today's high is 21C/70F. All the windows are open day and night.
We've had SO much rain. Ten days ago we had 5" of rain in an hour and has just keeps raining. We've had a few more inches since then. My mom is 15 minutes from me and has had almost nothing.
Today the smoke is finally gone, grey rain clouds are gone and it's pure blue sky for the first time in weeks. Ugg how do people live without sunshine and blue skies?
ETA: as much as we hate to admit it we are a winter people up here and don't have and can't handle the heat. You all can brag in the winter when it's 40 below here.

It is Satan's ballsack here, both unbearably hot AND sticky.
My temperature quilt had been coming together so nicely with lovely purples and pinks during the spring and now it's red, so, so much red.

Our heatwave has been going on for almost 3 weeks now. Close to the 90’s in my area, coastal, which doesn’t sound bad, but it is over 10 degrees higher than normal. And if you go inland 10 miles it is close to 100. We keep the downstairs at 77, which is nice for downstairs, but it is over 80 upstairs. Ugh! Really wish we had dual-level A/C. What I don’t understand are the people who go outside to exercise during the day. A couple of people have died hiking in the local mountains/deserts. And there is a lady who lives near me that walks everyday I’ve seen her as far as 3 miles away from home. She was out there today at noon, with no water bottle or water backpack. Stay cool everyone!! She's me, I do that. My usual route is 3 miles and for that length I don't need water and I really love the heat though I'm definitely ready to cool off when I'm done! I would bring water for anything more than 3 miles or if I was actually hiking, not just walking on a paved path. The sun and the sweat and the heat feels kind of cleansing.

UGH. I love summer, but this week has been ridiculous. LOL (I live outside St. Louis)
I am sweltering in my house today. And in a few minutes, I have to leave to attend a work event, that is outside. Blech.

It is Satan's ballsack here, both unbearably hot AND sticky. I've been saying it's hotter than the devil's asshole, but yeah. It sucks a lot, and by all indications we've got several more days at least coming - to be followed by some storms. I'm pretty thankful that we've got a generator that can run a portable A/C just in case we have power issues!

Another Phoenix pea weighing in here. We reached 119F (48C) this week. Lucky for us, it’s a dry heat. [/s] Yep, dry, just like an oven.

Florida is usually miserable in August and September, but our June and July were horribly hot this year. 94-96 degrees with humidity levels in the 80s, putting our "feels like" temp at 105+ degrees.
Every year I enjoy the heat and humidity less and less. We spent ten days in Washington at the end of June/early July and it was gorgeous (and cool!).

Between the heat and the wildfire smoke coming down from Canada this summer has SUCKED. For the most part I don’t even want to be outside at all. I think DD and DH went swimming for the first time at the lake cabin last weekend and that’s unusual for this time of year.
We all got invited to go swimming in the neighbor’s pool on Wednesday and it felt great at the time. But my exposure exceeded my sunscreen by at least an hour and now I’m burnt to a crisp, so I won’t be spending any more time outside for the foreseeable future. I was even staying in the shade for the most part! 🥵 So dumb, but most of our sunscreen, our nicer swimsuits and stuff is all at the lake so we were a little unprepared.

<------ Arizona here.... record-setting number of consecutive days over 110 degrees. I believe we are on day 25 now. It's been horrible. At work, our field technicians are going above and beyond to make it through the day. We are filling their coolers every morning with hydration (water, Gatorade-like products, etc), and cooling towels. Our managers are bringing out ice pops to them to let them know we appreciate them. I feel for them. It's been brutal. Can't wait for our monsoons to bring rain and cool things down. I lived in Phoenix during the early 90’s. What’s astounding to me has been your low temperatures. I can only remember a couple times of a low around 87, because we waited till really early morning to go jogging. I just read about the beautiful saguaro cactus dying because of the stretch of heat and the late monsoon. Just awful

Blech. Holy crow, I walked out to get my trash cans and thought I’d performed an Olympic event! Hope you survive your outdoor event today, local weather says we’re at least going back to the 90’s!

I will happily share the 54F (12C) with rain that we have right now. I am not made to live here, I am comfortable about 85F (30C ish), so I am wearing a hoodie, jeans and under a blanket.

You guys are scaring me. It’s been pretty hot here but cools down in the late evening. Early mornings aren’t too bad but the windows need to be closed by at least 10 am. We’re heading to Texas in a week. It’s my first time there and I’m sorry to say I’m not looking forward to those temperatures. I heard there’s no relief from the heat even when the sun goes down.

I'm in DFW under the heat dome and it has been very hot with temps around 103 and going up to 107 next week.
I was in the Seattle area last week and while the temps were lower, the lack of AC makes for some uncomfortable sleeping even with a fan.
I think I'll stick with the AC!

Daily, over 1002+ at my home, West side of Houston, with heat off the nearby “prairies”, with mild breezes from the west bringing even more those prairies. We caught 10 minutes of light rain yesterday, the instant in 20 days. We only water every three days for 10 minutes and the new bay tree gets five minutes daily. Grass is dry everywhere with fires bans, I am surprised no major fires anywhere yet. It’s so hot, there’s no grilling outside, inside it’s instant pot or crockpot, bread machine, toaster oven, George Foreman, rarely top of stove or big ovens. We’ve switch to light meals is soup, salad and sandwich. I am thinking of getting a panini press. Breakfast has been waffles, cereal, fruit, salad, eggs from the egg maker and tot. Lunch is leftovers in frozen dived meal prep or even store bought tv dinners in the microwave. The heat is Robby is of appetites and the desire to cook! The puppets is learning to walk on the treadmill as the ground is too dangerous to his paws. I can’t even stand to ride the bike at six in the mornin as it’s already in the .ow 90s and rising! Yikes 90s at 6 am. Your meal ideas sound good. We love our panini press but don’t use it too often. I forget about it but think we will use it next week for quesadillas.

I’m afraid to post. We are in a “heat wave”. It’s been getting into the mid 80’s. But we do not have AC. So it’s 87 in my living room right now. We did get a window AC for my SIL and brother’s room so he will be comfortable. So I’ve just been hanging around back there. Also—it is lovely on out front porch.
But I did Texas summers for 18 years….so I earned this relief. I’m sorry for all of you suffering through this heat. It sucks.

I think our high temp this summer was 78-ish. I'm on an island, in the very north of Puget Sound, just east of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I wear a sweatshirt most days, all summer long.
