I have today and tomorrow to get my house in order, including the kids' stuff and I wok from 6pm-1am tonight.
It may turn into tadk rather than time challenge, but I've got to stay motivated.
Up first, get out of bed and get dressed, start a load of laundry, put laundry form washer into dryer, and fold the jeans from last night

I'm in. My husband has gone with his dad and another man for most of the day so I'm in project mode.
I've already made the bed, cooked him breakfast before he left, cleaned up from that, walked the dogs, left to buy muffins from a local bakery for a bereaved family in neighborhood and delivered them along with sympathy card, and shipped a few items from my Etsy shop.
This thread reminded me... break is over! Off to get more done.

I have a long list to accomplish today, as usual. But before I begin doing laundry, a little cleaning, and unpacking more boxes, I am going outside to pull weeds. I have hired a service to cut the lawn because it is easily 4 times the size of my previous house and I hated cutting the lawn there, but they do not deal with the planters.
I ended up killing all the grass ant my old house and putting in creeping rosemary instead. I am eventually going to be doing something similar here too. I am not a big fan of lawns, and the lawn here is in really bad shape. Just walking across it I realized that the ground was never properly prepared because it is rather bumpy. And over the years, clover has really invaded it. But the outside, other than keeping it up and looking decent, is not a priority right now. First, I need to unpack and reclaim the garage. Then next year I will tackle the yards and put in a garden along the side of the garages.
So, I’m in for the challenge.

I would love to join in. I really need some motivation.
DH and DS are both at work and I would love to spend all afternoon working on things I enjoy, but there is so very much that needs to be done.
So far today I have:
Made another batch of roasted tomatoes before they went bad. Our garden has been generous this year.
Ran a load of my workout clothes (needs to be hung to dry)
Cleaned out the pantry of containers of stale chips and cookies and straightened the shelves.
Emptied the dish drainer of clean, dry dishes and then washed all of the containers from the pantry.
Loaded the dishwasher with breakfast and lunch dishes and hand washed the things that don't go into the dishwasher.
Straightened den, put pillows back on sofa and blankets away.
Bagged the pile of coats we pulled out to donate
Seems like so much, but I still need to: Run another load of my laundry Wash the load of kitchen bleaches Fill my medicine sorter for the week Empty a doom basket in my bedroom
And the biggest task I need to accomplish that I have been procrastinating on is the final ten thank you notes feom my Dad's funeral. My brothers left the entire task to me and I have really struggled to get them done.
What is bad, is these are the ones that are important, that need to say more than the generic thank you wording that I was able to find on the internet.
(Any advice on what to say would be appreciated)
Break is over. I am going to start at the top and get a few more things done. Starting a timer, lol

I am going to walk these cards out to the mailbox and then come in and hang some art.

Great job on all the productivity so far! Everyone is getting stuff done.
Here's what I've gotten done since my earlier post: blew off the pinestraw/leaves around the pool in preparation for the pool man to make his visit vacuumed and mopped cleaned the windows that the dogs constantly leave nose prints on made a plan for supper getting out the steaks and shrimp to defrost set out butter & cream cheese to soften for some pean tarts I'll be making later ran the dishwasher & emptied it caught up on emails which meant taking care of a few little things to be able to delete them
Now I think I may start re-upholstering my dining room chairs. I bought a new (to me) dining table and chairs just before the holidays last year. The fabric was a classic cream with a tiny blue fleur-de-lis type design. I wanted something more in keeping with my MCM house and found a huge bolt of the perfect fabric at a thrift store. The new fabric is white with a black chain (?) type pattern.

Going easy today. Laundry. Hope to change the sheets on my bed, but the cat has possession at present.
The baking soda needs to be cleaned from the family room rug. Another cat related issue. Both the dog’s food and cats’ food needs to be replenished in the kitchen cabinet and rotate the new under the old of the dog food storage.
I hurt myself Tuesday. Fighting a tendon injury in my leg. So, slow is the name of the game this weekend.

I managed to do everything on my list *except* the thank you notes.
I also finished everything in the ironing basket and hemmed a pair of shorts, altered a blouse and did another few items of mending.
I got so much accomplished with this challenge, maybe tomorrow I can work on some quilting. I need to fill my tank with something enjoyable.

I ended my project run with some baking which does the same for me. And bonus - we have buttery pecan tarts waiting for dessert after tonight's dinner.

I am calling it quits. Got everything done (almost) plus some extra that wasn't on my list. All I need to do tomorrow is get DH to find the paint so I can touch up a wall.

Have you thought about various height raised beds with flowers, plants, and herbs, and even produce? I have seen A few homes here with front lawn beds like that and it looks really nice and cool. The front of this house is super long and I could feed the entire development if I planted produce out there. I will be doing a raised bed garden on my side yard. And even with just doing the side yard, it is going to be more produce than I personally need so I have warned my neighbors that I will be dropping things off on their doorstep. And if I use creeping rosemary, we can cook with that. And I will be planting a couple of apple trees out front too. And of course, there will be plenty of flowers too. I just discovered a company that provides free wood chips for mulching and I am considering putting several inches of wood chips over the whole side yard to be a good base for the raised beds. The chips are from local arborist needing toget rid of wood chips from tree removal. The website explains how it works and you never know what you will get or when.
