Good morning! I arrived home from playing cards about 4:15 yesterday and DH said the contractors left about 15 minutes earlier. Thankfully I missed a lot of the pounding! Really pleased with the new look. I’ll post before and after pictures after DH does some touchup painting. It's going to be a scorcher today ~ about 103 degrees. I am so ready for fall! I can't wait to hear all about scrapmaven 's cruise. I believe they will dock tomorrow. Dinner will be salmon tonight. What’s on your menu for tonight?

I can't wait for scrapmaven to come back. The thread doesn't feel the same without her. I hope she had a fabulous time on her cruise, though, and feels rested and relaxed. I'm knee deep in laundry today and spending reviews. I have two left so not a big deal. Means my pace does not have to be crazy. I need to go to the library but I may stop there tomorrow because it's wet outside today. My dog still hasn't gone outside this morning as she knows full well it's wet out there. LOL! Jeremy said he should be home pretty soon, so I look forward to seeing him. Tonight I will make salmon and steak with asparagus and potatoes.

Hi there! I've been kinda awol recently, so much going on! I've tried to read even when I can't post. My summer class ends tonight. We are meeting in person this evening and I've made brownies...frosted, caramel swirl and peanut butter cup. I am going in early to straighten up my office and decorate a bit...redo bulletin boards, put up pictures, etc. It's gross out...rainy and dreary and I'm not looking fwd to the drive so I'm stalling a little this morning. Also, my car didn't start last night so I am driving our truck, which I'm not used to. It will be fine but I'm not happy to adjust from my little VW to a big quad cab dodge truck!
Tacos for dinner...taco Tuesday! Have to get it in before a tooth is pulled tomorrow morning...boo!
Hope all is well for everyone. ♥️

Today is a public holiday here, so not much happening. DH was on a midday flight to Sweden, so he left early morning to drop by the office on his way to the airport. I did the last few things I had to do before my expected visitors and then watched the Spain v Sweden World Cup semifinal. It started out quite hot here, then at about 3 it started getting dark, and my phone beeped a storm warning from the weather bureau and then the rain and hail came pelting down. It’s eased off a bit now, but I just got a message from my cousin saying their flight has been cancelled and they have been rebooked for tomorrow. I am wondering if this weather is part of the reason for the cancellation. At least I can now have an earlier night than I expected - they were due in at 8:30pm, so with getting luggage then getting here, it would have been well after 10 before they arrived. Tomorrow’s flight is a bit earlier.
I am not sure on dinner tonight. I have leftovers from yesterday, but that’s not sounding very appealing right now. I have a couple of heat and eat curry meals in the pantry, so I might have one of them.

The rain seems to be a trend, Although we have a nice gentle summer rain, a change from the torrential downpours we have had of late. I have about 3 dozen meatballs made and currently in the oven, when they cool I will package them for the freezer. I really didn't want to make a huge sauce. I wanted to get the meatballs made so the meat.. ground beef, pork and veal wouldn't go past its prime...once cooked they will be ok in the freezer until I decide to make the sauce.
Dh wasn't feeling well last night and went to bed, so I ate alone...therefore he will have his chicken, salad and corn tonight, and I will have something...TBD

My mum is technologically challenged to a serious degree! She is not able to get her e-reader to charge so I told her to turn it off and turn it on and try to charge it again ... The woman cannot figure out how to turn the reader off!!!! She has had the unit since Christmas! So she is bringing it over in a few minutes for me to do it for her If that doesn't solve the problem, she will buy a new e-reader ... After she leaves I will go and grab a few groceries ... My mum will be back later for dinner ... it is going to be 34 degrees Celsius here today so I don't really feel like heating up my kitchen by cooking so I think we will have Subway.

It’s been raining like crazy here all morning. Walker loves the rain so he was out running around in the backyard until a huge clap of thunder happened and he hit the back door like he was coming through it. He’s been in the house attached to either DH or I since then.
I’ve cleaned the main bathroom, done a load of laundry and. Is enjoying my book for a bit. I love lazy rainy days.
Supper will be a beef roast surrounded by small potatoes and baby carrots. Perhaps a side salad as well.

Hello all. Dinner tonight is bbq shredded chicken on rolls with leftover homemade coleslaw - easy-peasy since the chicken is already cooked and will just need to be reheated

The rechauffe in my fridge (a couple of different things) is getting old, so I will finish off one or the other tonight. Chicken noodle soup and bean dip. leannec, I’m probably around your mom’s age (turning 70 soon) and my Kindle paperwhite just died totally dead a couple of years ago. It was stuck in sleeping screen mode. Wouldn’t turn on, wouldn’t turn off. Finally I bought a new one and gave the old one to my BIL (retired engineer and he likes to tinker with things). Within 10 minutes, he had it working. I have no idea what he did, but next time I’m giving it to him BEFORE I buy new one. Welcome home to scrapmaven (tomorrow?) … you have been missed.

I had to reboot it ... connect it to my wifi again ... she couldn't have done that (she doesn't even have wifi at home!) ... I'll give her a pass! It's working now! She really does need to learn how to turn the thing off though

Thankfully I missed a lot of the pounding! I am living in he!! as of late. The City has contractors tearing down the old arena across the street where I live. Since June 19th, they have been out there from 7am - 5 pm, Mon-Fri. Right now they are loading huge trucks with the steel beams, concrete, bricks and all the other stuff. The booming noise when the metal (being dropped from the height of a huge back-hoe) into an empty metal truck is a very loud boom. This has been happening for the past week and will continue until the debris is gone. Then they will need to remove the concrete floor. Next door to me, the other side of my bedroom wall, the new tenants are having a new kitchen installed. Drilling, banging and all sorts of noise. Between the booming outside and the noise right next to me, it is HE!! Now the rain is starting. I had a barometric pressure migraine yesterday and it continues today. It's gross out...rainy and dreary It started out quite hot here, then at about 3 it started getting dark, and my phone beeped a storm warning from the weather bureau and then the rain and hail came pelting down. Although we have a nice gentle summer rain, a change from the torrential downpours we have had of late. It’s been raining like crazy here all morning. The sky is very dark and there is a storm warning for heavy rain and possible hail. I will admit that I was PUI'ing as I took strong narcotics for my migraine. The same is happening today. There is no place for me to escape to because of the heavy duty drugs that I'm taking. Sorry for the long ramble, but like I said, PUI Maybe soup for dinner. I'd like to nap but the noise is literally on the other side of the wall of my bedroom.

We had our rainy day yesterday. One dog likes the rain, the other does not. I have to give one a pill everyday. My trick is cheese, but he has to catch it fast because I am throwing another piece right after that! Works pretty good, I would say I have a 90% success rate on the first try. Dinner is up in the air. Maybe chicken stir fry.

I had a barometric pressure migraine yesterday and it continues today. My sinuses have felt like they are going to explode all day today. I don't have migraines but the pressure in my head is something. I'm sorry you deal with it too.

Have you ever put a pill in a glob of peanut butter and then stuck the glob of peanut butter to the roof of your dogs mouth? That worked like a charm for us. They can't swallow it, so they keep trying and trying to lick, eat it and it eventually goes down the throat with all the saliva they produce trying to eat it.

ntsf I use pill pockets and I stick a couple of pieces of kibble too to disguise the crunch. Maybe do that with the cheese. scrapmaven looking forward to hearing about your travels.

Well, my mum's e-reader is dead ... it keeps asking me to turn it on and off and when I do I have to enter all of my wifi information and email info ... ummmmm, not going to happen just so it can keep working! It is the cheapest model you can buy so I'm not surprised it didn't last. She's stopping at the bookstore this afternoon to pick up a new (better) one and I'll set it up for her ... She is a voracious reader ... keeps her brain active!

Hi today is wonderful. DDIL is working at the office that called her to interview last week. Things are going great with the kids. The dogs are doing well too. It’s only 30° here but it’s very hot for us.
We went to the mall to return some joggers to Lululemon and get alterations. We were talking and decided we want fish for dinner. They will have salmon and I will have a white fish. Maybe cod. DDIL needs rice as does DS (both culturally) so I will make another pot of it with broccoli and spinach salad or something else.
Things are great here right now so there is nothing much to tell. I am going to get a new wallet is my news (and no one asked). There is a nice style of Lululemon pant I love but they are sold out in the colour I like. I really love the colour. It’s called Utility Blue.

It's been a busy day. I finally found someplace for our work picnic next month. I like to have a place that is centrally located for most of my employees and it gets harder and harder to find someplace new. I had a hair appointment this afternoon. I needed it colored badly. Ran some errands and now am back at the office killing time until my Relay for Life meeting this evening. Doesn't make sense to drive home and then turn around and come back to town. We are having fall weather this week. Next week is supposed to be back in the 90's. Not ready for summer to end but don't really want 90 degrees either. Can't wait to hear all about scrapmaven's cruise. DH said he would have dinner ready when I got home. No idea what he is fixing.

we ended up buying cheese slices and thin sliced ham. the thin sliced ham worked!! we had a tube that you stick the pill on and put down his throat and it wasn't working. so the dog got his pill
we decided to go out to dh's fav restaurant so we got a late reservation.
