I believe there is a Jeep club here in Calgary. Sometimes, if you join a club you can get discounts at dealers etc for parts such as running boards

But I was wondering what the main problem was for a bill to be that much? Just curious. My entire alignment is out of whack and the rods are seized ... they would have to replace them $$$ My brakes are toast $$$ Some other thing that I can't remember $$$ Plus BMW labour costs. $$$ It was just adding up.

With the total cost of the unit I think they could eat that $1000 ... Jeeps are freaking expensive. . I'll have to look into the club though ... could be something fun!

Ah, the tie rods. They can be very expensive. All foreign car labor and parts are expensive in general. Glad you got a new car so you don't have to deal with car issues; especially on a cold morning having to drive to work.

She’s so gorgeous!! You def need those running boards — my partner has a 2015 Jeep Wrangler and I’m not even an inch taller than you and I can barely get in with his running boards. Lol. It’s a fun vehicle, quite a sexy beast! I’ve enjoyed re-learning how to drive manual. The funny part is that I’ve now converted him to a Subaru lover and he’s talking about trading in his Jeep for a Subaru.

I’ve enjoyed re-learning how to drive manual. I'm super lazy so mine is automatic ... I know how to drive a standard but I choose not to ... I live in a city with lots of stop and go traffic ... not fun ... Are you planning on giving her a name? I hadn't thought of that ... my go to nickname for most things is the nickname of my first dog (as an adult) ... she was a black Lab and her name was Scully but we called her Bobelly ... it's part of my email address and lots of other things for me ... I have thought about getting a vanity license plate with that on it ... if I do, then that will be the Jeep's name!

You are officially the “black Jeep of the family”. I saw that on a bumper sticker and thought it was great. Love Wranglers!

We checked into the Jeep club here but I think they mostly do off roaring. We mostly fill ours up at Costco.

I need to drive across the city to get to work! We used to have an ATV when I was married and I never went out in the thing ... not my idea of a good time.

I LOVE YOUR NEW JEEP!! I am a Jeep girl too - grew up in a Wrangler family. Five years ago today I had to trade in my yellow 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am still in mourning for my Wrangler. But the Cherokee is paid off and is very luxurious and I'll probably have it for the rest of my life.
I understand why the repairs for the BMW were going to be so high. I had a VW bug for my first car and later in life had an Audi. It cost an arm and a leg every time something went wrong with them because they were German cars. Expensive!
So, where do you stand on having little rubber ducks lined up on your dashboard? It is a new trend that I cannot get behind. I count the number of Wranglers I see every day and I feel a physical reaction every time I see those damn ducks. They are an oxymoron to the coolness of the Wrangler, in my opinion. (They need to make me in charge of the world - it would be so much better! LOL)
Enjoy your new ride and think of jealous old me when you drive it!

No effing ducks for me! Here in Calgary, that trend has not taken off ... thankfully! I don't keep junk in my vehicles and I'm certainly not about to start keeping ducks in there. So far this Jeep has been soooooo fun!!! I've put 200 kilometres on it just tooling around. I can't wait to show it off to the male teachers at my school next week ... they loved my BMW but I told them that once it started costing me money I was getting rid of it and buying a Jeep ... it's taken a couple of years but it has finally happened!

Congrats!! My husband would say you did the right thing! LOL
I bought my first car all by myself when I was 50. I bought cars before but always with my husband. But he couldn't go with me for this one, so I pulled up my britches and did it. It was a great car too, for a used one. We had to trade it in for a truck to pull the ATVs. I miss it everyday.. I hate driving the Beast..

I love the wranglers.
When I see a wrangler with oversized tires and wheels I fall in love!
