Hi everyone! OK, I am LOVING my new Jeep! I took my mum and my girlfriend for rides in it yesterday and also performed errands that didn't need to be done just as an excuse to drive it! I can't wait to get my running boards installed because getting in and out is precarious for this short girl! I have the same feeling here as I did with my house ... I miss the old but I love the new ... I miss my old house but my condo is so awesome so I hardly ever think about it ... I miss my BMW but I love this Jeep so I think I'll be OK without it, kwim? I'm meeting my mum for breakfast soon ... poached eggs sound very yummy right now! What are your fav style of eggs? This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I miss my weighted blanket but it is still too hot to be using it ... I have chronic insomnia and I think it help a bit with that ... My mum is coming over for dinner tonight ... my Hello Fresh box gets delivered today so we will have something from that ... she gets to choose! I hope that you are taking care of yourselves scrapmaven and Mr. scrapmaven! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Seriously I understand the need for running boards. I'm a shorty. Jeremy's truck is so hard for me to get into.
I prefer my eggs hardboiled. In fact I eat two almost every morning.
Starting yesterday and now this morning I have this pressure in my head and some dizziness. It's making me feel sleepy. Jeremy said he suspected I have a sinus infection coming. I assumed it was bipolar. He suggested taking some allergy meds. I did almost an hour ago and the feeling is still persistent. Drives me nuts because it's Sunday Funday and I feel like poo. I think I'm going to lay in bed and put on a podcast. Maybe I'll sleep some more. All I know is it's been months since bipolar has impacted my life so I'm probably due for something. It seems impossible at times for my mental health to be consistent. If I feel like this tomorrow, I'm calling in to work.
I have a variety of good things to eat. I may suggest pork chops. Acorn squash. Potatoes. Salad?

We are having a regular lazy Sunday. DH was up early and had been to the bakery by the time I was out of the shower. Then church, where we had to farewell one of our priests, who is back to the US for another year. He’s been teaching at a Catholic university there for 3 years, and has two years to go before he comes back to Germany full time. We watched the World Cup final (congrats to Spain 🇪🇸) and then switched to the local football for the afternoon. My knitting is beside me on the sofa, but it’s just too hot to be bothered with right now.
Dinner is going to be venison steaks on the grill with salad.
My favourite eggs are poached, but I don’t eat them often as the sit heavy on my stomach. I also like egg salad.

I'm glad to hear you're loving your jeep leannec - it looks like it would be a lot of fun to drive! I assume it's AWD or 4WD for those lovely Calgary winters? We rented a car there once in December to visit our DD in Banff at Christmas and it had no snow tires - scared the life out of me on the Trans Canada! jeremysgirl I'm sorry you're not feeling well today. Hopefully it passes quickly I like my eggs cooked hard - no runny eggs for me! My favourites are hard boiled, poached, or scrambled with cheese & mushrooms Another day of no plans for me. Reading a book and trying to put off folding laundry that I did yesterday. My SIL is in the hospital so I'm waiting for updates on her, and very worried that her liver might be failing. She has lived 9 weeks past the 6-9 week estimate the dr gave in April, but none of us are ready yet. She has been doing so well, I hope this is just a bump in the road and she can rally. But we're worried and would gladly take any extra prayers for Deanna from those that pray. dinner will probably be steak with rechauffe scalloped potatoes

Happy Sunday! I got up early and went grocery shopping. Didn’t get a lot because we have a lot going on this week and I’m not sure how much we’ll be home in the evenings. Plus we leave next Saturday for vacation. jeremysgirl I hope Jeremy is right and it is just the start of a sinus issue. DH has been sick most of the week and he said it was primarily his sinuses. scrapmaven I am hoping you and Mr Scrapmaven are getting lots of rest. tanya2 I will be praying for your SIL. Going to watch another DGS play soccer this afternoon then the kids and grands are coming over for dinner tonight. It will be burgers on the grill and corn on the cob.

leannec I'm glad you are loving your new jeep and condo. Sometimes change can be good. jeremysgirl hope you start feeling better. tanya2 I will keep your SIL in my prayers. I like my eggs over easy, scrambled soft and love egg salad. I'm feeling like a zombie this morning and have a terrible headache. Neighbors decided to party and blast their music all night. Party and music was finally over this morning at 10 am. Don't get me wrong I like music but when it's blasting and you can feel the pounding of the bass it gets a little crazy. Their backyard is right by our bedroom windows so it doesn't help any. Anyway, they are asleep now and I'm going to try and relax and enjoy the rest of the day. For dinner we are having what we had leftover from last night's dinner.

But we're worried and would gladly take any extra prayers for Deanna from those that pray. Positive thoughts coming your way for her!

tanya2 I’ve been meaning to ask, is your name pronounced “Tanya” or “Tonya”? I’m always curious because mine is spelled Tanya but pronounced “Tanya”. So you're Tanya like Tanya Tucker? Mine is pronounced Tonya. When I was younger I used to correct people constantly, but the older I get I answer to anything LOL I correct people if it's someone I know I will see a lot. Blame my mother, she came up with it

tanya I messed that up. LOL! No, mine is pronounced Tonya. Just like you! I blame my mother as well. I have employees that have worked for me for over 15 years. They know how to pronounce my name and they see it spelled out daily yet they still spell it Tonya. It used to irritate me but now I correct new employees and figure the others don’t care enough so I let it slide. It does make me more aware of how others pronounce and spell their names.

tanya2 , adding Deanna to my prayer list. leannec , like jeremysgirl , I eat a hard boiled egg every morning. When we go out I like either scrambled or over-medium. DH likes his basted but not everyone knows how to do them correctly. It actually rained a tad overnight and it's cloudy so we might have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Do you see what I did there?

I’m cooking shrimp with peppers, snow peas and zucchini for dinner. I bought some fresh angel hair pasta and will use seafood stock to make a “sauce” for it. Ds is probably having chicken wings. Dd is camping and Ally is away until next Sunday.
I love hard boiled eggs but also enjoy them over medium and scrambled.

So, dh has Covid. I tested negative on Thursday (PCR) and a home test just said negative, but I've had all of the boosters. On Tuesday I have a surgical appt for the big surgery that I need. I don't want to postpone, but I'll call them tmw and see if it's ok to come in or not. Despite testing positive, dh feels a bit better today. I feel a bit worse. This explains his recent complaints that he can't taste anything.
jeremysgirl, I'm sorry that BPD is ruining your Sunday. That just sucks a lot. ((((HUGS)))).
tanya2, I'm so very sorry and your sil is indeed in my prayers as are you.
leannec, come on by and pick me up. I wanna go for a ride, too. Have fun w/it. I know you ate breakfast out, but I vote for you to take your mom out to dinner just so that you can drive some more. Heck. Go to a drive-in restaurant.
Have a relaxing fun Sunday, all.

We’re getting ready to go to tea soon. By dinner time, we’ll probably be passed out on the sofa. But my brother brought me chile verde from the Mexican deli in the Mission district that we love. They had closed down during COVID and I was sad. But now apparently they’re open again. The only problem is, no one trusts my brother not to leave food out for hours. So we’re kind of suspicious. But maybe we’ll have a little taste and see how that goes. I’ve only ever pronounced Tanya as Tonya. I mean, if someone told me differently, I’d go along with that. But I’m in California and all the Tanyas seem to actually be pronounced Tonya. Warm thoughts and comfort to your sister-in-law, tanya2. I’ll eat eggs in any form, as long as the whites aren’t runny. No runny whites! ICK!

scrapmaven if he is positive for COVID, I'll bet that's what you have too despite the negative test from Thursday. I'm sorry you feel worse today. Please take care of yourself. lucyg I'm glad your birthday turned into a full weekend of festivities. I laughed when you said you hibernate on Monday. I laid down for three hours. Listening to an audiobook and drifting in and out of sleep. My nose seems to be stuffy. So maybe it is just my sinuses. I'm going to take a shower and see if that helps perk me up. Thank you for all the good wishes. I feel like Sundays are my treat so I hate to miss out on the relaxing fun of them.

jeremysgirl, I'm going to ping my doc and see if I need another PCR test tmw. lucyg, You'd better be celebrating today. It's STILL your birthday! I forgot to respond about eggs. Hate 'em. Ew. Can't stand 'em unless they're in a chocolate chip cookie, of course.

DH likes his basted but not everyone knows how to do them correctly. That's how my mum likes them and they know how to do them at our Denny's! leannec, come on by and pick me up. I wanna go for a ride, too. Have fun w/it. I know you ate breakfast out, but I vote for you to take your mom out to dinner just so that you can drive some more. Heck. Go to a drive-in restaurant. Ok, I'll be right over! Whenever I go somewhere with my mum, I drive, so she will get lot's of chances to ride in my sweet ride! Now I just have to have some will power ... there are so many cute accessories you can buy for Jeeps ... and I might get a personalized license plate! Gotta wait until after Christmas

bklyngal62 I’d be tempted to mow the lawn this morning. tanya2 keeping your sil in my prayers Enjoy the rest of your birthday weekend lucygleannec I parked next to a wrangler today. They look fun. Do you have the top off? Is it warm enough for that? If I’m forced to eat eggs it’s whites only scrambled. I make mine separate from dh. Yolks gross me out. Waiting for Luke to get up from his nap so we can meet at our neighborhood pool. I bought a membership and haven’t taken him once. It closes Labor Day weekend. Our lives just didn’t align this summer between illness & travel unfortunately. Dh came home from his travel this week with a nasty cold. I made him take a Covid test but it was negative. I’m making chicken katsu with eggplant parm and salad. I haven’t made it before. Saw the recipe on IG

ok just did - nope can't do it! Nothing even slightly runny. lucyg especially not the whites! Runny whites look like snot leannec - I'm very envious of your weekly trips to Denny's. We don't have one close to me, closest one is in Toronto (so at least an hours drive). If we had a local one I'd be there every week too. And I love how close you are to your mom

leannec I parked next to a wrangler today. They look fun. Do you have the top off? Is it warm enough for that? Oh, hell no! That top will never be coming off! The last thing I want is my hair blowing in my face . I also loooooove air conditioning! This Jeep will be driven like the BMW ... as an old lady car that looks cool! leannec - I'm very envious of your weekly trips to Denny's. We don't have one close to me, closest one is in Toronto (so at least an hours drive). If we had a local one I'd be there every week too. And I love how close you are to your mom My mum is my best friend ... I am an only child and she had me when she was 20 ... lot's of ups and downs in life but we have always stuck together ... Now we spend a lot of time together because we are both single and can do whatever the hell we want! Denny's is underrated ... the food is consistent and the service is great ... I don't know what happened today but "someone" paid for our breakfast this morning! . So weird, so we just left a really good tip for our regular server.

It’s crazy hot here today -30 degrees C with high humidity. The dog is hiding in the basement where it’s much cooler.
Walker has decided not to eat his kibble anymore and waits until we put something else on top, then proceeds to only eat the topping. I’m sure he’s bored of his food as he’s been eating the same puppy kibble since we got him. I’m trying another brand but am only cautiously optimistic that he will eat it.
DH is off on an ATV adventure. He just sent me a text to check in. He knows the rules, especially with his heart issue.
My mom dropped by for a quick visit today. I managed to upset her and make her cry. Although in my defence, she’s highly sensitive and cries very easily. We were discussing Christmas and every year I tell her not to buy us, my brother and our adult kids anything. She is on a very limited income, only getting her CPP and Old Age Pension. She lives in a subsidized apartment and is able to live comfortably but has no extras. I’ve asked her for many years only to buy a small gift for each grandson (she has 7) but every year she spends money on gift cards and other silly things for everyone. In January I always have to give her money to get through the month. With us being retired now, we don’t have the disposable income that we did when working. She got upset and started crying. She said she wouldn’t buy the adults gifts but I really don’t believe her. I will continue to have this conversation as it gets closer to Christmas. I love her dearly but she is so stubborn.
Supper tonight is steak fajitas.

Tuesday's appt is a consult to see which of 3 procedures I will have. Then it'll be scheduled. It's major surgery, so I'm guessing it'll take a while to get on the OR schedule. Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out if I should get another PCR test that will ensure that I'm still negative? I can't email my doc on Sunday.

taylortroop - we have the same issues in our family. My grandmother has no money, lives off her CPP and OAS, but still wants to give everyone a gift at christmas. She gives us each a card with $20 in it, adults & children alike. It adds up but nobody dares to tell her not to do it because it makes her feel good. My mom also can't afford to give much for gifts and we tell her every year not to, but every year she ignores us. For her we all go together to buy her something substantial for her house that she needs. One year it was a snowblower, one year an over the range microwave - usually something that requires my dh to have to install after christmas LOL leannec - I love everything about your last post. Dennys is underrated!!! That was so nice of "someone" to pay for your breakfast this morning

tanya2, butter-basted eggs are really an old-school thing. They’re good, but a lot of work to prepare. We used to serve them in the coffee shop I worked at in college, 50 years ago. Most places don’t seem to make them anymore, but maybe it’s different in Canada. And you’re right, runny egg whites look like snot. jeremysgirl, I hope you’re feeling better now. Forgot to say so before and I’m sorry.

taylortroop what about trying some dog safe broth on top of the kibble. scrapmaven it can take a few days to test positive if you have it. I sure hope you don't and your DH recovers quickly. The little furball has sapped our energy and kept us up a lot last night. We at least came up with some workable solutions to get him to go outside finally and to eat and drink without the cone. I took off the cone and just snuggled and streamed again keeping him away from the surgical site. He seems happier though sedated. Tonight we had a pork stir fry over jasmine rice.

here is my book!! last night, I went to the lawn of an outdoor classical concert. I sat near the covered pavilion (huge) that the orchestra and some seats occupy. about 5 minutes after the music started, the big screen said.. evacuate the lawn, lightning spotted. so I grabbed my chair and water, and hurried under cover in the pavilion. dropped the chair at the back and found a seat under cover. there was some confusion but they restarted the music.. and just then, the rains started to pour hard!! and there was lots of thunder through the whole performance. the main piece was Debussy's The Sea, so it sort of fitted right in. rain stopped 10 min before the music.. so I was dry when I caught the bus back home.
we left our condo at 4:45 am west coast time and drove in pouring rain for three hours.. dry from boise on.. then as we drove through eastern oregon and on through the cascade mountains, the smoke got worse and worse.. it got up to 275 aqi.. our dog did fine.. not a peep the whole trip. about 45 minutes of congested traffic on the east side of the mountains. stopped at the pass and I dragged dh to the washington state ski and snowboard museum. my dad is one of the featured persons.. (there are about 100 in a digital directory). and I saw a new exhibit that displayed my dad's seal skin skins (for ski mountaineering) from the 1940's. the museum has been updated since i saw it last. that was pretty neat..met one of the few employees.
drove to the ferry, only waiting 30 min. and after unloading, we sat back and watched some football.
I only like very firm scrambled eggs or baked egg bites, or eggs in baked goods. I do not eat eggs in any other form, esp runny, or hard boiled..
tomorrow.. time to organize all my camp stuff. and going to store.
