I'm in Minnesota-south of the Twin Cities. We are under a heat advisory due to the heat and humidity. My windows are fogged up this morning! Yesterday was 96 degrees. Today's forecast, 96 degrees, 96% humidity and the dewpoint is 77. Yikes! The air feels like soup.
How is everyone else doing?

I am just outside of the Twin Cities In MN. When I opened the patio door to let the dogs out, the humidity took my breath away….yikes… I don’t remember having humidity like this. It’s awful.

It is still oppressively hot here. Today's high is 101 and tomorrow's is 104. It's going to be in the triple digits until next week where it then cools to a chilly 97 degrees.

Yeah, it's not nice and gonna get worse for a couple days. I turned the ac back on in the middle of the night/early am. Usually good at night especially with ceiling fan. Say it with me..."it's not the heat, it's the humidity.
Like scappert, I'm in SE Wisconsin too. Thankfully for the kids, no school til September. Most I know of start around the 5th around here. Wisconsin passed a law years ago that school doesn't start until September. Most tend to wait until after Labor Day, I think.

Wow. 96 degrees is kind of ordinary summer for a lot of the country, but I would never have thought of it for your area! And 96% humidity... You might as well be swimming. Except that swimming would probably be pleasant. -- I can deal with the heat okay, but not the humidity. ick and ick.

It's absolutely miserable in Alabama this week. 3 digit temps and 86% to 90% humidity.

I’m outside Chicago and there is an excessive heat warning today and tomorrow. Temps near 100 with godawful humidity.

In DFW it's going to be 104 today and 106-107 the rest of the week. My AC just can't keep up. We're also under a water advisory and can only water every other day. I've been able to keep my backyard looking ok but the front is a lost cause. We do have humidity down here but it's mild compared to other areas.
Stay cool my friends!

Here in Arkansas we are triple digits all week, with feels like of 115 to 117. Right now, at 9am it is 84 but feel like 101. at lunch time it is to be 96 with feels like of 117. Think my lunch time errands will have to wait!

Same here in central Wisconsin. 83 degrees at 9 a.m. and expected to climb to 95 or higher. All the females in the office are in skirts today. I just hope the AC keeps up with it!

So so sorry for all the heat and humidity that so many of you are having to endure. The humidity, IMO, is the worst part as it is so cloying. I hope everyone is able to find relief in some form. Take care everyone.
In my area (New England) we are, thankfully, not having to deal with that (it got down into the 40s last night and very low humidity) and we have sunshine and no rain for a 2nd day in a row…feels like a record for this summer. Sadly possible rain again tomorrow.

Yesterday it was 70 degrees. Just beautiful. Today is supposed to be 91! and tomorrow 95! I kept hoping all day yesterday after how pleasant it was that the forecast was wrong. And of course it's going to rain tonight too so the humidity will be insane. The good news is it'll be back into the 70s next week. Us Michigan people can't handle the heat/humidity. And with the damn hot flashes, I'm barely hanging in there.

That feels like MD weather, honestly. I was at my son's soccer game on Monday and there was NO BREEZE and I just sat on the bleachers and sweat just poured off me. I felt awful. I can't imagine how the kids who played the game, on the turf, felt.

96 degrees is kind of ordinary summer for a lot of the country, but I would never have thought of it for your area! I firmly believe people adapt to their climate. When you live in an area that is cold 6 months of the year, your body gets used to that and then anything over 70 and we are sweating. LOL! I was one of those people who could run outside in January (as long as the paths were shoveled) at 10 degrees easier than I could run in August at 80. In fact, my favorite temperature to run in is around 40 degrees with only a long sleeved tshirt.

It's been triple digits here in Central Texas for the past month or so. My electric bill is really getting up there ways too high. Thank goodness, the other bills are low and I have not been spending lately so can pay it. I have the thermostat set at 80 degrees and have made sure the filter has been changed, but it seems to run almost all afternoon most days.
Anyway today we are predicted to get to 102 degrees

We've been under extreme heat warnings beginning in June when we had several days of 100+. The temps have been 100+ for the past 23 days and will continue to be for at least the next 10. I am SO over this summer, as is everyone else. We know that Aug/Sept will be hot as hades every year, but it's unusual for it to start being that hot in June.

I had to take the bus for an appointment at noon in my coastal Mediterranean city in France. I walked by 4 pharmacies on my way. Three were showing 45°C (113°F), one had 44°C (111°F) in the sun. We shut all the shutters and windows before 8 AM this morning to avoid the heat creeping into our old apartment sans airconditioning and have managed to keep the inside temperature to 34°C (93°F) at the moment (5 PM). I'm sitting by the electric fan in my underwear, basically. There's no way I'm getting on camera for a team meeting to end the workday. I refuse to wear proper clothing after my excursion in the heat (and I got stuck on one of the old buses that doesn't have airconditioning either). Humidity is currently 32% where I live. I cannot complain on that front at all. My condolences to those swamping it away!

88º at 10 am, with a 'feels like' temp of 101º. The humidity is thick. Feels like a warm wet blanket thrown over you when you step outside. High forecast at 99º this afternoon. I know it gets a lot hotter in other parts of the country, but this heat combined with the humidity is pretty deadly here.
We are trying to keep livestock alive. So far we haven't lost any. Cows are good in pastures with plenty of shade and water. Still need to keep a close eye on them, but we are lucky to have the pasture, water, and shade that we do have.
Fat cattle are in barns, which is way better than a dry lot, but still very concerned about them. They have backed way off their feed, which is a big concern. Constantly monitoring them. Have lots of fans going and there is a breeze, but it is very concerning right now. Winds are to increase this afternoon, which is good for them. Water, shade, and ventilation are so important and have to be watched.
I am watching DH! He is out in it all day and I am making sure he is hydrated and cools off once in a while. He tolerates it a lot better than I do, but it still whips him pretty good.
We had a few days of this earlier in the month. We lucked out with no death loss. The two counties to our south lost around 1000 head in one late afternoon. They call it a 'heat dome' .. it gets really hot and humid and the wind just stops. Cattle started dying pretty fast. They had fire departments out trying to cool cattle by watering the ground and blowing a mist, but still lost a lot of head.

Satan's ballsack here in Memphis--unbearably hot and sticky.
My family is blaming me for the high temps, I have been wanting at least 1 day over 100 degrees so that I could use my darkest red in my temperature quilt and we haven't hit it yet. Sould be today.
I feel so bad for the neighborhood cats that hang out on my patio. They are just panting they are so hot.
I rigged some extra shade with a blanket draped over the glider and have 2 bowls of water out for them. I also took a can of wet food and diluted it with some turkey broth I had in the freezer to get them more hydration.
I so wish i could bring them inside, but my cats wouldn't have it, nor would DH.

I was outside for 5+ hours the other day at an event and I'm pretty sure I was just this side of heat stroke by the time it was over. I was hurting at work the rest of the night, where it was so cold I had to use a space heater. Craziness!

I feel bad for my son who went back to school today in central Iowa. Even with AC it's going to be miserable in the school--it was bad when we were there Monday night for back to school night. The upside is his golf meet yesterday was cancelled. It's supposed to be better for football games on Friday night but I'm still thankful I don't have to go since I don't have a kid playing.
I walked out of work yesterday around 1:30 and thought to myself "this isn't so ba....ugh...nope, it's bad" seriously couldn't finish my thought before I changed my mind!

I have a job interview at 3pm and no air in my car. It's a 40 min drive and I would be a soggy mess by the time I arrived. Thankfully my daughter had off work today and I will be able to use her car with the air. It's supposed to be a heat index around 111 at that time.

I have the thermostat set at 80 degrees and have made sure the filter has been changed, but it seems to run almost all afternoon most days. Wow.. I have mine set at 66º. I normally keep at 69º to 72º, depending on the outside conditions. If I don't set it that cool, the upstairs in our house is unbearable at night. Keeping the humidity out of the house is what is most important. If I had to set it warmer, I could survive. Luckily my electric bill won't be to shocking - but it might be $200.
