Anyone have a a great vacuum to recommend for thick carpet? Just put down new carpet and my Dyson suctions to the floor (even on the highest setting) and you can’t push it. My DH ended up picking it up and walking across the room and setting it down and pulling it back for each swipe.
I obviously have to vacuum again at some point.😂

We have this Miele and it is awesome on any height of carpet. Sucks up dog hair (we have a golden) like a champ and is easy to move around. I wasn't sure I wanted a canister vacuum after having uprights for years, including Dyson, but this one is so much better. |

I also have a Miele, but mine is upright.
I have a Riccar and it is as good.
Both are uprights. After years of struggling to take vacuum up and down the stairs, I now have an upstairs and downstairs vacuum cleaner. Miele upstairs and Riccar downstairs.
FWIW, I purchased both from an independent vacuum cleaner shop. The owner told me that the Dyson ones keep him in business with repairs. He does not recommend them.

I have a Miele as do each of my girls. We won't have anything else. Mine is 11 or 12 years old now and still works amazing!

I will add my recommendation for a Miele. We've had ours for 25+ years and it still works great on the thick carpet in our house with 2 cats. We had it refurbished once about 10 years ago - there was nothing wrong with it at the time, it was like getting a tune-up for your car engine.

We also have new thick carpet and are using our Shark from Costco. It does require more effort to push forward but it's not impossible. I am cleaning the rotator bar about once every 5 vacuums or so while it is still putting out a lot of fuzzies.

Another recommendation for the Meile C3. Love mine!
Two cats and a Pomeranian in residence. It’s fantastic for stairs.
