Anyone have this issue? It doesn't happen every time. But sometimes after traveling, my feet are swollen for a few days. I went to Orlando this past week. Did Disney for 2 days. It was super hot, lots of walking. Came home yesterday. By the time I got home, both feet/ankles were swollen. The right was more than the left. Still some swelling today. Had to wear flip flops to work vs my sandals or slip on Vans.

No it doesn't happen to me but it's not uncommon after walking around all day in the heat. Rest with your legs elevated and wear compression stockings.

I wore compression socks on a recent long flight and was pleasantly surprised how well they worked

Compression socks are what you need.
I purchase sheer knee high compression hose, medium compression--and it works for me.

I’ve worn compression socks after travel for about a decade now. After a week or two of being on my feet 14+ hours a day, they always swell after traveling. I don’t have any issues with swelling when I wear them.

Yes, it happened to me the last two times I came home after a trip. You think I would have learned after the first time, but nope! The last trip was only a 4 hour plane ride so I thought I would be okay-I wasn't. My feet, ankles and even my legs swelled so much it took a week for them to go down. Part of it could have been me really overdoing the snorkeling-I also had very sore muscles on the backs of my ankles that I think were caused by flipper use. I did a ton of snorkeling on that trip. The other part was that we were so tightly packed together in that plane that I didn't get up like I normally do and walk around-I was in a window seat and I figured it was only a 4 hour ride. Big mistake. I did drink a ton of water, although I also had two alcoholic drinks in the airport before getting on the flight (which I never do!) because my ankles were killing me and I was out of ibuprofen. There was absolutely none to be had in that tiny airport on St. Thomas.
Anyway, for my next trip scheduled for next spring I am absolutely packing a pair of compression socks. I've been seeing ads on Facebook for a company called wearwellow.com I'm interested in buying these because they are moisture wicking and they are made from 76% viscose from bamboo.
Drinking water helps and I've heard staying away from alcohol also helps. I didn't have any problems flying down to St. Thomas so that must be true.

I have compression socks so I wear them to travel. They are tight but I wear them on the plane and my legs are great when I get there or home

I deal with swelling and absolutely hate wearing socks. I wear these when traveling and they help with the swelling.

The thought of the compression socks in the August heat though! But I might have to come to that next time. Thank you ladies.

Compression socks will definitely help. You may have to try a few different ones until you find something that is comfortable for you. But you will definitely find some relief!

I wear compression socks. I have also started going for a lymphatic massage when I get home after a long flight. It helps move stuff.

I wear compression socks. I have also started going for a lymphatic massage when I get home after a long flight. It helps move stuff. DH does that for me and it really helps. I have fibro and most of the time the compression socks hurt too much so I do this instead. But DH uses compression socks, he actually wears them daily due to blood clotting and vein issues. His favorite are the Boombas.
