Hi everyone! I went out for dinner with my family last night to a really nice steakhouse (The Keg) and the service was terrible! I had to ask for bread and it took more than an hour for our food to arrive Luckily, the food was delicious when we eventually received it! Today will be a lazy day of doing very little ... I might go to the bookstore ... they sell a lot of different things and are having a "kitchen and dining" sale on right now. I FINALLY got to see some photos of Molly and Emma at their Dad's wedding! So beautiful! I posted this one on Facebook: They said the wedding was a lot of fun and was very classy. My girlfriend is coming over tonight for dinner and Netflix ... I 'm not sure what we will eat ... maybe takeout pork dumplings! YUM! We will be watching the new season of Selling the OC! How is everyone and their significant others feeling today? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

leannec - your girls are beautiful! I have housework and scrapping on my agenda and maybe baking some scones Dinner is supposed to be tomato soup - I might have leftover potato-leek soup from yesterday instead (but DD is sure to pick the tomato - she didn't like the 'green' soup)

leannec - that is a beautiful photo of your beautiful girls. I am also having a lazy day today, as it is just me at home until Monday night and we are leaving for Budapest on Tuesday, so no need even for grocery shopping. I chatted with both DH and DS this morning and we have sorted out the phone issue. Several people here told me that I can get a SIM at Aldi that gives plenty of data as well as calls for €20, and it can be topped up if needed, but no ongoing contract. I’ll head there Monday then activate so it’s ready for when DS arrives. For dinner tonight I am just going to heat up a frozen pizza. I have been good and cooking most of the week, so I can ‘cheat’ for one day!

leannec, Molly and Emma are so pretty. That's a lovely photo. linda, have fun making yummy scones. sueg, I hope you have a really nice weekend as you get ready to head to Budapest w/your son. I feel better today. I'm off quarantine and testing negative, but will wear a mask and go to the post office, because I have to self serve a package to yds that he needs this week. Dh is going to take a walk around the block and test his stamina. It'll be another puzzle day, though I'm really looking fwd to getting back into my scrapbook room. I might see if dh wants tacos for dinner. Enjoy today and make the most of it, my wonderful tribe.

Happy Saturday! leannec your girls are beautiful. scrapmaven I am so glad you are feeling better today. Don’t do too much! I have been to a soccer game this morning. It’s hilarious to watch 5 year olds play. Came home and went on a short walk. Wanted to test my knee out. The Purdue football game is getting ready to start so I am going to watch it and scrap at the same time. Dinner will be BLT sandwiches. Hoping everyone has a nice, relaxing Saturday.

I had to check on the kittens this morning because DS and his family are camping for the weekend. One kitten left a couple weeks ago and never returned. Today the mama cat wasn’t around but just hoping that she is out mousing. I don’t want to lose a cat on my watch.
It’s fair weekend in my small hometown. My boys used to enjoy the fair but DH and I don’t have any desire to go now. Fingers crossed that the weather stays nice for those who are attending.
DH and I are going to my bestie’s house for supper tonight. Her husband went to chef school and is an amazing cook. Not sure what we are having but it will be delicious. I’m taking a Dairy Queen ice cream pizza for dessert.

stormsts, how is your knee? Was the walk successful? I hope you're much better. taylortroop, mama might have been out hunting for her babies. Did you see any of the kittens? My mama cat hasn't been around since we got back from vacation. She hid the kittens somewhere, but by now she's likely abandoned them.

My walk felt good. I only did a little over a mile. If I sit too long it stiffens up so I make sure to get up several times an hour. I’m getting my 10k steps in just by doing that. Thanks for asking!

Good morning! We were up and out early as our development had their fall yard sales. There are about 3500 homes in our development and lot of garage sales. Impossible to hit them all. Two hours is about our max. We did find some treasures. We didn't need a new entry table but found one that is the same style/color as our distressed pine dining room set. I have recently found a recipe that calls for a crock pot so I found one for $5 that is in good shape. Then DH bought a drill and saw that are battery operated. There was a beautiful leather chair and ottoman for $150 and DH said it was insanely comfortable but we just don't have a place for it. leannec , what a beautiful photo of your girls! scrapmaven , glad you're feeling better! Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs. Here are some photos of my completed photo memory book for my SIL. The last page is almost empty as I'm going to have everyone sign it.

Hi Everyone, leannec Your daughters are beautiful! That’s terrible service. Was the restaurant packed? linda Either soup sounds good. sueg I hope that you get the phone issue worked out. scrapmaven I am so glad that you feel better today. I hope with each upcoming day, you continue to feel better. stormsts I hope that your knee is doing better. BLT’s sound so good for dinner. cadoodlebug Your memory book is beautiful! That’s great that you were able to go to so many yard sales! Today, YDS went back to school. DH carried my laundry basket to the laundry room and I am doing my laundry. I am making hard boiled eggs for egg salad and that will be my dinner. Other than that I am just relaxing and watching YouTube videos. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

leannec Your daughters are beautiful! That’s terrible service. Was the restaurant packed? Awwww, thanks! The restaurant was full but had a lot of staff ... we saw a few tables that were seated after us receive their food before we did. We weren't in a hurry but it just wasn't what I expect in a nice place like that ...

scrapmaven: Two of the kittens are there and we are able to hold them and play with them. They are a few months old now so Mama has stopped hiding them and leaves them in their own for long periods of time. They are weaned and eating cat food now. leannec: We love the Keg but the closest one to us is about an hour away. The last time we were there, the service was great but it seemed like the food was below par. Honestly we only go if we have a gift card and are planning to be in that area for something else.

We have a number of Keg locations in Calgary ... one is only 10 minutes from my house ... that's where we were last night ... The food there was excellent ... in Alberta, you had better know how to cook a steak. It was just so freaking slow! We sat for an hour before our food came out ... we usually order dessert but we just didn't want to put in more time.

leannec your DD's are beautiful! sueg hope the SIM works out! scrapmaven glad you are up and about! stormsts sounds like a wonderful day! taylortroop and scrapmaven good to hear about your kittens. cadoodlebug lovely memory book! destined2bmom I hope your DS has a great school year. We had a baby opossum visit our back garden. Shot out from a bush and up the fence when DH and furbaby ran out. I came out and found it under a tree branch on the fence. She was very young and pretty. But I do not want her sticking around my vegetable and fruit plants. Tonight we may just have some tuna melts and sauteed vegetables.

I love that photo of Molly and Emma, leannec . They're gorgeous! My Lite 'n Easy meal for Saturday was coconut beef curry, with brown rice, quinoa, pumpkin and zucchini. It was delicious, and very filling. And surprisingly, the beef was so tender, even after being cooked, frozen, and re-heated in a microwave.

Your girls look so beautiful, leannec. Well, I’ve been gone most of the day. We had a family birthday event today (actually it was celebrating all the “decade” birthdays … people born in years that end with a 3 … of which I am the oldest, natch). Maybe I already explained all that before, sorry. Anyway, we already had five, and realized there were two more at brunch today … SO’s of family members. My mom got exposed to COVID again the other day, so she decided to stay home. I need to check in on her. Anyway, I made chicken & pasta salad (with lots of other stuff, including bacon) but I made way too much, so that’s dinner, too. I also have a new chocolate birthday cake to share, which my sister bought especially for me. I went in for my lab tests early this AM and already got results back. The things that were low the last two weeks both bounced back. So I am hopeful that chemo will be on for Monday. It’s been almost four weeks now. That’s way too much about me and not enough about anyone else, but I can barely keep my eyes open at this point. G’night!

Great news about your labs, lucyg. I know that you're concerned about your mother, but you cannot be exposed to anything right now. It's Ok to send her food via door dash.
