I love art and creativity. So, more businesses involved in that. Whether it be: classes, consulting, buy and sell …etc I love energy healing too. It brings more conscious awareness to the layers of it all. And I feel if there was more artistic expression in this world there would be more healing happening.

I would like more bookstores. I miss Borders, but we still have B&N. More art stores, not craft stores like Michaels. There was one close by, but they closed. A good stationary store that sells pens, notebooks, stickers, etc. There is this store I follow on IG that is in Malaysia that is like heaven! I would probably spend a good half day there if I ever went there. And they have painting and calligraphy classes. I would love to take those classes. A business that has art classes, along with clubs and such. I want a Nordstrom close by. The nearest one closed a few years ago.

Bookstores. Barnes and Noble drove out so many of the smaller, local bookstores, then they started closing stores all over the place. Now, it's really hard to find a local indie bookstore.

Bookstores would be nice, we have a tiny locally-owned one but that's all.
I'd also love to see LSS come back. I miss being able to touch things and see the real colors, and the fellowship, and demos, etc.

Bookstores are the only thing I can think of. I buy most things other than groceries online now.

We were down to only B&N and one used bookstore, but in the last few years two new ones opened in towns near me, I love it.
A real art store... I've been here 20 years and we've never had one... and we're a fairly large city not M's or J's, a has more than one brand of paint, type of art store.
The real fabric store closed, now we just have J's...
Public swimming pools...
The roller skating rink closed a few years ago. There is supposed to be a new one in the works but it's been 4 years...
Things to DO that don't cost a mortgage payment for an entire family to go to... Water park, arcade, skating rink, my kids have outgrown going to the playground and there's nothing for older kids to do or it's so expensive (there's an arcade at the mall, but it is not cheap.)

Also, I love unique restaurants - not the chain type. And I love unique clothing stores as well.

I miss being able to touch things and see the real colors, and the fellowship, and demos, etc. Yes, both of these. LSS was my first thought. I LOVED crops at stores because if I was in the middle of a page and needed something I could get it right then. My closest store is about an hour away (more if traffic is bad) and that's just too far for me. I think I was spoiled with have 2-3 within a twenty minute drive. But then they all went out of business so.... Maybe I'm just lazy but I drive enough with my work commute and I just don't want to do that on a Saturday. ETA I thought of another one. Bungee Fitness. I freaking hate exercise but I keep seeing these videos online and they look so damn fun! If one ever comes reasonably close to me (not an hour drive lol), I want to try it!

If there was a local scrap store less than an hour away, I’d definitely go there. When Archiver’s opened up here, they eventually drove all of the indie stores out and then they too closed up shop leaving us with nothing but other chain stores. It used to be that the chains carried the name brand products but that’s not the case anymore. Mostly all they sell now is their own knockoff store brands and those suck either in quality or in design or both. I also wish we had a local cake/cookie/candy supply place. There is one but it’s close to an hour away and all the inventory looks like it was picked by someone in their 80’s. I mean seriously, red and green printed Christmas doilies in June. Gold paper placemats. Weird plastic wedding cake toppers that look like they were popular in 1970. They don’t stock any of the cool stuff I see online and none of the fun cookie cutters from up and coming companies. I think a decent cake supply store in this market could make a killing, especially if they also taught classes.

I can tell you why there aren't more art/creativity places around. I own one. They are expensive to run, making it very hard to make money!

We actually are doing pretty well in Seattle with respect to book and art stores. I do the independent bookstore event every year, and there are something like 27 participating bookstores in the area, and that leaves out many of the used bookstores as we as the Barnes and Noble branches.
What I miss are stores with classes. We had a great sewing store here for years that got killed by the pandemic, and the best thing about it was the sewing classes; we had a small chain of fabric stores that closed most of its branches as well, taking with it most of its classes. I know many people learn well from YouTube, but I don't.
I'd also like dance classes aimed at adults. I've only found one place that really does them, and they don't have beginning classes. I'm too out of practice really for intermediate classes, and dance is exercise that doesn't feel like exercise to me.

I would love a local scrap store... but i really want a 2nd hand craft store... there is pea who lives near one and finds all the amazing stuff... i found out about one that's about 45 minutes from me. it's a really fun place. i bought a bunch of rubber stamps. it was $5 for an all-you-can-fit paper lunch sack and you can bet i jenga fit that stack full. i'm also happy to have a dedicated craft store where i can donate my excess supplies to. they are a non-profit organization that also holds sewing classes and craft classes.
