I have a sunroof/moonroof and a rear fixed skylight and I rarely remember to open the sunscreens to let extra light in. I don't think I've ever opened the sunroof completely.

Hate them. I'm sensitive to bright lights so I have my cover closed all the time. I don't get the appeal of opening it as a window, you habe 4 other windows if you want to listen to the noisy wind. Just something else really expensive to replace when it cracks.

I am an all windows down and music loud type of driver. Unless it's a million degrees or freezing. I absolutely want a minivan with a sunroof so I can open it up along with the windows. I think part of it is because I always wear a ponytail, too, so that helps.

It was a requirement for me when I started looking for a new car. My Sport has one and I love it!! Mornings like today and it is 64 degrees? You betcha it is opened! Now Arkansas summer doesn't allow an open shade in the summer so I only open it a peep to let hot air up and out during the day. Then it is closed once I get on the road. Sadly, I am only 5 minutes from my house for a commute so I don't get to enjoy it too much. But with the right temps and the right music, I am back in my young days!

I have one because dh often drives my car and he loves them. But when I am alone or we are together in it, I never open the sunroof. Until recently I even had the shade on it closed as I don't like the sun/heat from it. But he recently got it tinted so now the shade can stay open. Now I just don't notice if it's open or closed. But the window itself stays closed.

I bought a new Camry in March. It came with a moonroof and I said that’s stupid, I’ll ever use it. I love it! I especially like to have it open with the a/c going. I stick my hand out and play Dino from the Flintstones. BTW, I’m 66, not 26….

I'm in TX so most of the time I'm trying to keep light/sun out of my car. I don't think I've opened it even once.

When I had mine I used it.. probably 50% of the time.. just depending where I was going.. I love a good sunroof
I have had many many of them over the years and never no issues with leakage.. if that is something that is brought up.

It's a must-have for me. I won't purchase a vehicle without one.
The shade on mine is always opened. I usually drive with the sunroof vented. If it's nice out I open it all the way.

The one time we had a car with a sun roof, we tried to use it and didn't care for the extra noise. It remained closed the rest of the years we had the car. Ours had a feature where the "window" had a shade. We often opened the shade for extra light in the car interior.

Never! Funny just a few days ago I was in my car and someone said do you have a sunroof in this car, I had to look up and say yes! I've had it since December and never used it. My prior car had a removable top and used it maybe once in 8 years. Also had a convertible for about ten years and used it a couple of times.

I use mine all the time and love it. I have a panoramic sunroof with a windscreen, so even freeway driving is not very noisy.

After having one, I missed it on the next car - I like the openess and light that it offers.
I often have it tipped up open in the summer, but usually at least have the shade open.

I've owned a number of vehicles that came with sun roofs, but I don't like them, don't use them, and don't consider it a draw-back to not have one.

I just use the feature that bumps it open a bit. It helps keep my car cool in the summer and doesn't make the noise of it being opened fully.

Ever since I bought an Acura Integra in 1992, every single car I've owned had some access to the sun. Mostly sunroofs, but I did have one full-on convertible. I used to ALWAYS use them (I live in Florida) but with a wife and two kids I now rarely get a chance.
But every once in a while, I open up both sunroofs of our minivan, crank Metallica's "Seek and Destroy", and let James Hetfield's riffs drown out the screaming kids in the back.

My prior car had a removable top and used it maybe once in 8 years. Also had a convertible for about ten years and used it a couple of times. I'm infatuated with the new Bronco, and seriously started putting together a plan to buy one. Then I had to ask myself this question: "Joe, when are you EVER going to manually go outside and remove the roof?" I have a wife who'll probably bitch about the wind, and two daughters who'll probably whine about it. And I almost never drive anywhere by myself! What am I going to do, go through the ordeal of removing it just for my five minute drive to the barber? So yeah, that dream is over. Any vehicle I buy has to have a powered way of accessing the weather. I ain't manually removing shit.

Rarely. I bought my current car when it was one year old, so I took what I it came with which included a sunroof that I didn't really need/want. Back when I was a smoker, I did use it regularly.

I avoid the sun like the plague so only at night or if there’s a great thunderstorm. So not often at all, but never noticed the noise issue and I have a quiet vehicle. Will have to pay attention next time. It came with the trim-line which I only chose because I needed the heated seats and memory seats for my back. Lots of things that came with that I think I will require in all future vehicles like backup camera, steering wheel controls and remote open back door. They’ve been amazing for my back as well. But the moonroof won’t be on the list. eta: I just realized y’all meant noise when it was actually open, not just the shade opened. I don’t think the window has ever actually been opened.

I use it quite a bit. I slide the door open but rarely open the window. I love the light that streams in—decreases anxiety, chills me out in traffic, eases the stress of the work day and fascinates the dog!

I've owned my car for 24 years (and am still driving it) and I can count on one hand the number of times I've used the sun roof.
I did get quite upset the day DH borrowed my car, used the sunroof, forgot to close it completely and it rained that night! The next day I got into my car and when I sat down in the driver's seat it went "squish"! My whole bottom was wet. He apologized and did all he could to dry it out (complete with fans) and it was just fine. I was so worried about mold. I know it wasn't his fault 100%-just one of those things that happens when you have adult ADD. Of course I forgave him.

i tilt it a lot. i never do full slide open because i hate that noise and having the sun pounding down on me. i find if i tilt it open, i get better fresh airflow. i still keep the solid headliner part mostly closed though.

We’ve opened ours twice I think at the grandkid’s request. I never even think about it.

I always have the shade open. I love the light, and for that reason alone would have a sunroof/moonroof on my list of must-haves in a car.
I rarely even think about opening the roof itself. Tilting it might be the best choice, as I would to have to remember to close it if I were to totally open it.

I do some. It has a pop up that helps with the noise. But it still can be noisy at certain speeds and conditions. DH drives with the cover open more than I do. I do like having it when I do want to use it.
