Seems like all the higher trims on cars include a sunroof. I'm personally not a fan of sunroofs because if I drive .2 miles from my house, I am doing 65 mph and I hate the extra noise. It is the same reason I don't roll my windows down.
Just curious who likes them and who does not.

I don't open it a lot, but I love the extra light and the visibility. I hate it when I get rental cars that don't have sunroofs - they feel so cave-like.

It wasn't a feature I was looking for when I bought my vehicle but I thought it would be neat to have. I have opened it twice; once because I was sitting somewhere and thought maybe I should try it out and the second time was when I was moving and it was way too loud. I don't even open the shade since it makes it so hot inside.

I rarely open mine due to the noise as others have mentioned. But I do like the light in the car it provides even when it’s closed. If it’s really hot, though, I’ll close the shade.

DH uses his regularly in the summer to let heat escape when getting into the car. He also likes to drive with the window closed but the cover open.
I also have a sunroof and I couldn’t tell you how to even open it. But it came with the package that I wanted, so I have it.

I don't because in the past few years, I've gotten super sensitive to light--I find it to be irritating.

i never have and i have it one on my current car and had one on my previous two cars. It always is part of the trim level that included heated seats which is the option i always want.

I haven't had one for the last 5 years but even before that, I never opened it because it was either too hot, too cold, or I didn't want the extra wind. I never want the extra light. There are about 4 days in October when I might even think it wouldn't be unpleasant.
It's not something I want or need in a car.

I only drive during the day and it never fails…if I open it the sun is overhead and blinds me. I pop the hatch as I open my door to let the heat escape.

My current car does not have one. My previous cars did. I would sometimes open the shade, maybe pop up the back end, but I rarely opened it up all the way. I really don't miss having one. I am not a "wind in my hair" kind of car driver/passenger. When I am a passenger in a car and the driver wants to open the windows, on the freeway, I internally grumble.

I mainly use it in the summer (so 9 months of the year) when I am out shopping. And by use it I mean that I tilt it own a bit when parking so the car doesn’t get as hot. As for filly open, no I don’t use it. Too much noise and pollution.

Yes, I do city driving, so speed/noise isn't an issue. I use it mostly spring/fall when the weather is nice.

I never use mine. Although I do have a cute photo of the (now) 14yo popping out of the top when he was little.

I rarely do. Maybe 5-6 times a year. If I’m driving on certain freeways at night. Usually through Hollywood or downtown, after a concert or a Dodger game. Because the lights are beautiful and traffic is slow enough that there isn’t a loud noise or a loud breeze.

It is the same reason I don't roll my windows down. Just curious who likes them and who does not. OMG I think you’re my long lost twin. My last Escape had a sunroof (moonroof? Not sure what the difference is) and I NEVER opened it. I didn’t even like having the sun screen thing open with the window closed because I didn’t want the top of my head to get sunburned! DH would open that thing and the noise and hair blowing around in my face would drive me insane. Needless to say, when I traded that car in for my current one, I opted for one with the better package but that DIDN’T come with a sunroof on purpose because I hated it that much. I don’t like driving with the windows down either, not even a little. Back when I was young I used to think it would be cool to have a convertible or a Jeep. Now that I have life experience I know either would be a poor choice for me! DH rented a convertible when we were on our honeymoon in Hawaii and I hated it. I don’t know how people can stand having their hair constantly blowing in their eyes even just as a passenger.

I have two sunroofs on my SUV. I very seldom open the front one but I do open the shade sometimes. I doubt the rear one has ever been opened.

I have a panoramic roof in my Nissan Rogue. I didn't set out wanting one but it came with the car and I have to say, it's my favorite thing ever. It's not every day that I open it up because of highway noise and/or it's too hot but I absolutely love how light and open it makes the car feel.

Oh I love mine! I loved it so much on my last car it was a must in my current one. I love the extra light the most but I open it often. I like to have the fresh air but it’s not as obtrusive as the windows down- the sunroof doesn’t blow the hair in my face and to quieter than having the windows down. In the summer I always have it open on some part of my drive.

I love mine! It’s open most of the time when I’m driving. I drive 60 most of the way to work. Just turn up the tunes.
We have one in our SUV that struggles so we don’t use it anymore. It’s handy when putting kayaks on top.

Uh, yes!
I have a twin panel sunroof, and the shade is always open for the extra light. It also has a wind screen so when it’s open it’s not noisy or windy and you don’t get resonance like when a window is down.

As others have said, while I might not always open it I love the extra light and feeling of openness that it brings. The Subarus have a pretty big one. I find I use it more in the spring and fall when I am channeling the sun after/before winter comes. It would not be a complete deal breaker but it would be high on my list of options, but not quite as high as heated seats. 😄. In my first couple of cars I actually had after market (or what ever they are called) installed. Those were more little sunroofs and not like these big moon/sun roofs that are around these days.
My problem is remembering to shut them. I have come out of work before to a very wet car.

I've only purchased 1 new car in my life and I only had 1 requirement, a sunroof. It was a 2015 Highlander and I would have had to go up a model (increase in price) to get the sunroof. So, alas, no sunroof for me

I use mine on moderate temperature days. I do all city driving so noise isn't a factor. I love fresh air in the car.

When we bought our van (the vehicle I drive since dh has an old car that's just for commuting) our main criteria at the time was "we need another Honda van". lol. We wanted one that wasn't more than three or four years old so we took what we could get. It does have a sunroof and I do open it from time to time. Mostly for driving around on errands on days when it's finally cool after a hot summer. Like now. lol. Even if I don't have it open I pull back the cover to let the light in. It's not something that would be required though if we were buying a new vehicle.

I open my sunroof frequently - even if I have to run the heat or AC in the car to balance it out. I love the light and the fresh air. It’s open for around town driving most of the time. I do close it for highway driving mostly because of the smell of the big trucks.
I’m a throw open the windows and doors person at home as well.

I use mine for the little air movement. I hardly ever use it in the summer and of course the winter. But spring and fall I use it quite often. Mostly just cracked and not fully open, but sometimes fully open. (mine is one that goes all the way to the back seat when opened, too.)

I don't use mine. I don't like the wind or the noise and I rarely even open the sunscreen. DH will use his and about half the time I'll ask him to close it.
